I have bigger plans for this thread. A lot of it, your thread is lacking. Like the stock recovery.img or a bootloader zip to flash back to total stock in case of messing with something someone shouldn't have. Please refrain from posting outside of the topic presented as well.

Not sure what your last sentence means, but thanks for posting up this stuff. I was unable to pull a stock recovery image so that'll definitely be useful. Along with the other stock partitions obviously.
This is the first phone I've had where proc/emmc actually lists every partition.

I posted this in general, so I wanted a reminder to everyone not to post things off topic.
OP updated with more info.
Recovery.img and boot.img posted. Ramdisk's posted. More info on boot.img posted.

Added gpio map

Thanks for this, need to exchange the M8 due to a faulty antenna, so this is very useful after flashing Philz.

This was a very cool thing to post. It helped me sort out some problems.

Ok, people. I've spent my fair time of reading/researching/testing/messing and it's simply not working. Therefore, I have come in search of people who are more knowledgeable (not sure it's a word) than me and could help me out of the kindness of their hearts. First things first:

Bear in mind this is a phone that has most definitely been tampered with. I bought it from a small shop in NY, the owner claimed it was imported from Australia which meant it worked in Brazil (where I live). Through the years I have changed it to a supercid (11111111), changed it back to a cid I'm not sure it's the original, installed a GPE ROM, tried installing Cyanogen and that's when everything started going awry. For no reason I can say for sure, the phone entered the oh-so-familiar state of bootloop. I get the Google logo (maybe due to when I had my GPE ROM on it, I guess) and I can't boot into recovery, no matter how many times I try flashing it and erasing cache. What I want to say is that I'm pretty much stuck with fastboot and a corrupted OS. My PC (Windows 10) recognizes the phone on fastboot mode, but that's pretty much all it does. No adb command works, maybe because it won't boot as far as it needs to load adb. A few other things:
- Yes, RUU would be great. However I haven't found anything that works. I keep getting signature errors and problems while flashing zips on rebootRUU. Tried it an absurd amount of times with many, many options.
- Getting S-OFF could be also a step in the way of bringing the phone back to life, however rumrunner requires adb. I can't emphasize this enough: for the last few months I've been trying to ressurrect this phone, I could not get adb to work.
- In very rare ocasions I get maybe one or two seconds of the splash screen of TWRP recovery. That shows up, freezes and moments after I'm back to the Google logo.
I would like to thank in advance anybody who puts their mind to work on this issue. You people are great. So, any ideas?

Why is the phone back to S-ON? That was a big mistake :silly:... You can't even flash a RUU now that your CID and MID does not match your version-main (GPE firmware + Asian CID/MID).
Your only hope is to get this custom recovery booting. Did you tried mdmower's twrp?
http://android.cmphys.com/twrp-m7/
Code:
fastboot flash recovery filename.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader

First of all, thank you so much for replying! The S-ON part is because I was thinking about getting it unrooted to send it back to HTC. Dumb move there, I admit.
I got the recovery flashed and once every 12 or 13 reboots I get the recovery to run for 20 seconds or even 1 minute, depending on what I do. I have an USB dongle that I'm trying to use to install Cyanogen. No luck there, so far. When I try to get it do ADB Sideload it tends to crash when I check to Wipe Delvik/Wipe Cache. Any pointers to what would be the way to install a ROM here with the biggest chance of success?
Thank you once again for your time!

Can you post the output of "fastboot oem dmesg" and "fastboot oem last_dmesg"
I'm curious to see if everything looks fine on the hardware side, more precisely if the emmc is in good condition.
Maybe you could try every custom recovery versions (CWM and TWRP) to see if it can boot correctly and be stable long enough to flash a rom.

Yeah, I'm trying all possible custom recovery versions right now. If anything works out, I'll post here.

HTC One M7 bricked (Sd card failed to mount error)!! Need HELP!!

I dont know what happened with it. I'm getting errors like "failed to mount '/system' (invalid argument)" "failed to mount '/devlog' (invalid argument) in TWRP while wiping. No matter which ROM I use, the flashing process fails. I am able to use adb commands when I am inside TWRP and fastboot commands in the bootloader. I tried installing an RUU, it went fine, but after flashing, the phone goes to stock recovery and more errors are displayed. What to do? Somebody please help!!!
Below is the result I get for fastboot getvar all command and my bootloader is unlocked.

Was the device previously encrypted and did the device become S-ON after flashing RUU? I don't remember if the RUU flashing steps include switching from S-OFF back to S-ON or if it happens automatically.

It was always S-ON and never encrypted. But I had to relock the bootloader to flash the RUU.
Do you have access to adb in recovery?

Good! In ADB shell run:
Code:
cat /proc/partitions
post results.
Then run:
Code:
df
Post back results of this too

Yeah. Compared to your results, I'm missing a few lines. Is there a chance that this could be because of some kind of hardware failure? Oh and mine is a 32GB model.

Missing a few partitions? The M7_u should have 38 partitions, not 39... Only the Sprint variant (M7WLS) is 39 partitions.
Everything is normal from p1 to p18 but there is a strange 8192 blocks partitions at p19 (where /misc should be located). p19 is normally only 1022 blocks... If you look at your p20 you can find the 1022 blocks partition and looks like every other partitions from p19 to p38 shifted 1 position down (p19 now at p20.... p38 now at p39....)
Also interesting, if you make the sum of all the partitions you'll find that it's busting the total blocks number of your mmcblk0 by 4096...
And if you substract another 4096 from your mmcblk0, the result will be 30535680 which should be the total blocks of a normal mmcblk0
So yeah, looks like someone or something messed the partitions really bad...

Well I think you would need to backup every partitions from p20 to p38 then re-partition your emmc from p19 to p38 (delete p39 and re-allocate the correct amount of blocks from p19 to p38) and finally push back your partitions backups to the correct positions (i.e backup of p20 to p19, backup of p21 to p20). Not even sure if it can be done, S-ON will probably not help... Not an easy task...
What happened to your phone? You bought it like that?

I don't exactly know what happened with it. I've been using it as a secondary device till my youngerbrother asked if he could borrow it since his phone died. And couple of months ago, I think he mentioned that he wanted to root and all and that's it. Last week he returned my phone in this state. I've been searching for solutions in the internet ever since. I tried flashing different RUUs for my device, but it didn't help. Everything goes smooth till the end of flashing the RUUs, but after reboot the phone just goes straight to the stock recovery and display these "failed to mount" errors.
At this point, I'm completely out of ideas and any help is much appreciated. Can you tell me exactly how to carry out the method you suggested?

From all that i've researched from other sites and forums, some devices are fixable and some aren't. The ones that are not fixable are the devices with fried eMMC (hardware failure). I'm hoping yours does not have hardware failure.

try to flash the RUU again. Fingers crossed. If this doesn't work, we can try what @alray suggested and try to reformat the partitions to their proper place and size.

[HELP] Phone bricked

Greetings, I'm recurring to this community since I'm kinda desperate (and a bit hopeless) with my phone. So, I was trying to move from Pixel Experience 10 to PE 11, and the process got stucked in twrp, so foolish me, restarted the phone thinking I was gonna be able to start over. So I find myself with no os on my phone and I can't make it start in anyway.
I tried:
- Rescue and Smart Assistant (the only time it worked, after 4 hours, I don't know if reached the 100% completation, throw an error, didn't took note since I thought the cable got moved and tried to start again, with no luck)
- Using flashboot with the files I got from the stock .zip
- locking bootloader (with no success)
I was able to get different results, in one time, apparently worked but got the "invalid key" when trying to launch. In the phone I got error like "failed to load kernel". I'm still able to enter flashboot, so I don't know how bricked my phone is.
I'm far from being experienced, I was searching old posts but, like I said, I'm not being able to get my phone to work. Hope someone can help me.
