How to Upgrade!
HOW TO FLASH
Make sure you have prepared by copying the ROM zip file to your internal SD Card or external SD Card first.
Please Unlock using the Asus Unlock Tool first found here.
Note installing and running this app will wipe your device and void your warranty.
You can flash CWM 6.0.4.7 using the instructions here.
Direct File Link is here.
To flash a recovery you need to have the fastboot.exe file and cwm recovery.img file in the same folder.
Right click + shift on the folder they are in and choose open command prompt here
Boot into the Bootloader by either booting with the Power and Volume Down Buttons held down until you get the 3 icons or by typing the following into the command prompt.
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Then type the following commands to flash the recovery image:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Start the recovery by making sure the RCK icon is highlighted (use volume down to move) and push volume up to select.
If you need to move to the latest bootloader then manually install the 10.26.1.18 firmware from the Asus website.
In recovery choose install zip - install zip from /sdcard and maneuver to the folder you put the rom.zip (vol up and down) and select it using power button.
The AROMA installer will start - as we have no touch screen drivers in CWM yet you will have to use VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN to navigate and POWER to select. Choose as many options as you require
Finally reboot when finished.

Good work! [emoji2]

Ballin out of control.
You must have read my mind, was going to ask if you could add options for disabling fsync and journalling. Awesome work, cant wait to test.
PS - How is dolphins performance? Now that stock is flash player free i will need a new browser

In this ROM don't work Home button and express settings in status bar. Maybe because I flash it without full wipe, only cache and dalvik cache. But perfomance is greate :good:

Thanks...I'm downloading:good:

Rom is great, installation went without a glitch. Some apps unchecked did install anyway (ie News & Weather) but that was also the case in 4.3 if I remember well.
The only problem I have at the moment is to load Google Agenda Everything seems to have synced well but the agenda. I get a message that "Sync is currently experiencing problems,. It will be back shortly" , so it might not be related to the rom.
Question/comment: I understand that you did not include lucius.zen's tweak with regard to screen unresponsivness?
edit: can I add it to 95CleanTWEAKS
Anyhow, this a great rom. Chapeau!:good:

Yes I agree it doesn't seem to help the cmbase as much. I need to look into the kernel to see how it is used.

thanks for your quick response. I still have this morning a problem with my google account (sync error with agenda). I'd like to know if anyone else has that problem?

Thanks. So should flashing this over cm11 be fine?

The OP would recommend that you do a full wipe before flashing, to get the most out of this ROM that's just what we advice.. :good:
If you do have issue, don't be surprised if that's one of the first things your asked... 'Did you do a full wipe' ??
Thx Josh

Ya I took the risk.
Not recommended (Google play, I'd issues, home button not working)
Sure is much faster though.

Still going through the process of getting everything all setup again. So far all is sweet.
And Props to the new boot animation, simple but very clever.

I have a similar problem with Google Calendar not syncing. And yes, I did a full wipe. I've also tried removing the Calendar from the ROM (both manually and through a re-install) and installing instead from the Play store.
But the ROM overall is very responsive.

How to install
For Unlocked Bootloaders:
- Flash Stock Sony 10.3.1.A.2.67 firmware
- Flash a Kernerl with CWM or TWRP
- do a Factory Reset/ Wipe data / system/cache before installing ROM
- Install the rom in CWM
- reboot and select no for recovery flash and yes for fix su[/QUOTE]
For Locked Bootloaders follow this guide from @kevev
1.) Read through all of these instructions before proceeding!
*****All .FTF files are flashed using Flashtool.*****
*****These .FTF files will NOT flash a baseband because we need to keep the stock radio bands.*****
*****If you flash an incorrect BASEBAND you may loose LTE or all radio functions!****
*****I have included the .166 T-Mobile US C6606 Baseband .FTF in case someone needs it.*****
2.) Place All MIUI ROMs zip files on the external SD card.
(This is important as later on you may have issues placing files here after flashing the first ROM.)
3.) Flash this rom:
C6603_10.3.1.A.2.67_Generic ES_NO_BASEBAND.ftf
4.) Root the device:
Instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386405
Notes:
When you boot after flashing the NL .FTF kernel file go into settings --> About
Tap on "Build number" a bunch of times till you see this on the screen "You are now a developer".
This will allow you to enable "USB Debugging" in the "Developer Options" settings menu.
Also enable "Unknown Sources" in "Security" in settings menu.*****
Ignore the fact that your SD card will not mount. That will be fixed after MIUI is installed.
5.) Install dual recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606
Notes:
When running the .bat file enter "1" for SuperSU.
When you see this message "Look at your device and grant supersu access" you may not see
the supersu window on your device if you previously allowed access.
6.) set "vanilla" cwm as default instead of Philz recovery:
Do this by going to sdcard1/XZDualRecovery/XZDR.prop and change the line "dr.vanilla.cwm=false" to true
7.) Boot into CWM & flash the MIUI 3.9.7 ROM .zip:
a.) Shut down the device.
b.) Power on the device.
c.) Press Volume Up when you see the Green LED.
c.) "wipe data/factory reset"
d.) "advanced" --> "wipe dalvik cache"
e.) "install zip" --> "choose zip from /storage/sdcard" --> "miui_l36h_lockbl_3.9.27_498ecdaeac_4.1.zip
f.) Reboot.
g.) Select "Yes" on the "Disable Recovery Flash" screen. The device will reboot.
*****You will have only a blank screen after the black "Sony" screen. This is OK. Continue to next steps.*****
8.) Boot into flash mode and flash .253 kernel:
a.) Keep USB plugged in and open Flash Tool.
b.) Hold Power + Volume Up until the device reboots(Screen goes blank) and release buttons.
c.) Quickly Hold Volume Down until you see "Device connected in flash mode" in the Flash Tool window.
*****If you do not press Volume Down quick enough the device will bootloop again.*****
d.) Flash C6603_10.1.1.A.1.253_Generic DE_KERNEL_ONLY.ftf (Do this quickly as the device may reboot randomly!)
e.) Reboot.
f.) After booting up and moving through the initial MIUI setup menus, wait 5 minutes before proceeding to the next
steps.
9.) Boot into CWM & flash the latest MIUI-Z ROM .zip just like you did the 3.9.27 version:
a.) Flash the .zip
*****Make sure to select "Locked Bootloader" in the Aroma Installer which starts after begining flash!*****
(You can install the "Beats Audio" mod if you wish.)
*****You will have only a blank screen after the black "Sony" screen. This is OK. Continue to next steps.*****
b.) Reboot.
c.) Select "Yes" on the "Disable Recovery Flash" screen. The device will reboot.
10.) Boot into flash mode and flash .67 kernel ( C660X_10.3.1.A.2.67_KERNEL_ONLY.ftf ) just like you did the .253 kernel:
a.) After flashing the kernel Reboot.
b.) After booting up and moving through the initial MIUI setup menus, wait 5 minutes before rebooting again.
c.) Enjoy MIUI!
MIUI Update Instructions:

This build is quite laggy tbh
It also replaced your recovery with a modified Chinese one
You can use DoomKernel v08 to have english CMW recovery or if you like flash NUT dual recovery.
No really laggy. It has 1.2GB memory free after you kill all apps.
Only problems I have: it doesn't have LTE option; after rebooting, some apps, FC and Wifi lost. But I like Miui rom for its theme and fast ROM.
Thanks to Natorus for compiling all the info in one thread. Hope you can update the thread as the ROM is updated. Thanks!

I tried to flash the last baseband from 0.67 firmware via flashtool and glad to say that it worked.
Please see if there is any more lag after that.

Hi, thanks for rom i would like to ask, can you make modification to theme chooser app so we can use our downloaded themes from internet sites? In miui v5 for galaxy nexus it was possible. I was using themes from sites.

You can download the theme files (mtz) from here or here
To apply the downloaded themes:
Guide for using Theme Engine:
1.Open theme application
2.Go to local and press menu button
3.Select Import from SD card and choose the Themes.mtz file
4.Select the required theme and apply it. (Note: MIUI V5 uses DRM Checking for its themes.)
5.You can also apply a part of the theme.

Yes. only 2G or 3G option under network, unfortunately at the moment.
Found a bug, once I changed the language to e.g. Chinese Traditional, I can no longer access the language and input setting, it keeps FC-ing.
Another thing is since I'm using 420dpi, it's good if the launcher icons have an options to choose 5x6, 6x7, etc.
Thanks.

Thank you anyway!
Anyone knows how to swipe the miui keyboard? At the moment, I can't swipe the keyboard and there is not word suggestions.

Don't you understand? Fm radio isn't possible on kernel 3.4 right now... And all three jb 4.2 4.3 and kk 4.4 use 3.4... You want fm radio then shift to a rom suitable with older kernel...

how did you compile this ROM based on the "cm-11.0-20131211-LX-NIGHTLY" which has these bugs?

Please don't ask for ETA, it's against the rules. Please check bug tracker and user reports for bugs instead of asking for stable version of this ROM.

HeadFox tnx for your -KitKat- work, and cm11 build.
I have installed your rom by your instructions. Amazingly there was no problem and it works fine! For first boot.
Regards :good:
Hi all !
So first don't ask for ETA for stable version because my ROM is base on LegacyXperia cm11!
About this I already work on build my ROM from LegacyXperia Cm11 Source ! Because at this time i just get the .zip cm11 ROM from LegacyXperia and I moded it !
If someone can post screenshots, it will be really really Helpful !

CROMi-X [Clean-ROM-Inheritance-Xenogenesis 6.x] by sbdags
TF701T USERS: YOU MUST BE UNLOCKED, ON THE ASUS STOCK JB 4.3 BOOTLOADER VERSION 10.26.1.18 AND HAVE A WORKING RECOVERY - CWM 6.0.4.6+ BEFORE FLASHING THIS ROM. SEE UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW IF YOU ARE UNSURE
I recommend you do a full wipe if coming from another ROM. Choose Wipe in CWM. If you are unlocking for the first time then it will also force you to WIPE.
You can restore data from Titanium Backups but please do not restore system data or apps from a previous version or another ROM if you want a nice clean smooth upgrade experience.
If you are coming from another source like Cyanogenmod or AOSP then you must wipe first. No excuses.
Don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup first and give the ROM 10 mins to stabilise!

CROMi-X REODEXER DOWNLOAD
Click here to discover which is best : ODEX or DEODEX
Rather than release a whole new rom I made a small flashable zip file that will take CROMi-X DEODEX and ODEX the framework and system apks. This way you can do it yourself (And save me lots of work)
It takes about 5 mins to do and the result afterwards is you have a fully ODEXED rom. The odexed version feels smoother than the DEODEX version to me Although theoretically it should make no difference.
Instructions: Flash the DEODEX ROM then flash this after and reboot (Remember it takes about 5 mins to reodex a rom fully)
TF701T CWM ODEX Flashable Zip
Don't try this on a CM11 based rom or a non Asus 4.3 based rom as it will cause boot loops

Nice, thank. Downloading now.
2 Questions. What is the difference between the US version and the We version? How can I check the bootloader version and what is the latest?
I assume that I have the latest already because I installed you other rooted ROM with no issues but I just wanted to confirm.
And thanks again.

You can check the bootloader by reading the top left text when you boot into the bootloader Sounds like you already have the right one though
The only difference between the US and WW are the build.prop fingerprint and keys and US has different Wifi regulations so doesn't allow as many channels as WW. You can flash either regardless of where you bought the device
:good:
Sweet thanks for such a quick response. Only 28% downloaded so far

Still uploading 2 other mirrors.
AS you will see you can massively debloat the rom but I'm thinking there are probably loads of apps no one uses. I could probably clear 300MB of Asus rubbish and have it as a separate download?
Might be a good idea later. I've only had it a week so I still have almost all 32 gigs free the extra 300MB isn't that big of a deal. Also the extra bloat can be easily be done manually later.

No i know that (there is too an app to hide nav bar and activate with swipe on the market) but i am talking about the navigation bar present in stock browser. With firefox it's automatic and give more space when you navigate but in the stock navigator we can't do this.

Just found the first bug.flash player is not installed properly. I'll make a patch tomorrow.
You can hide the status bars top and bottom by choosing the extended desktop options in gravity box. Then set Pie to start when extended desktop is enabled. Finally choose extended desktop from the power menu options

TF701T USERS: YOU MUST BE UNLOCKED, ON THE ASUS STOCK KK 4.4.2 BOOTLOADER VERSION 11.4.1.29 OR 11.4.1.30 AND HAVE A WORKING RECOVERY - TWRP 2.8.x.x BEFORE FLASHING THIS ROM.
I recommend you do a full wipe if coming from another ROM source (CM11 , etc). Choose Wipe in TWRP and Factory Wipe. If you UNLOCK it will also force you to WIPE. You can upgrade (dirty flash) over Asus Stock, CROMi-X 6.x or CROMi-X 7.x but please WIPE if you have any issues.
You can restore data from Titanium Backups but please do not restore system data or apps from a previous version or another ROM if you want a nice clean smooth upgrade experience.
If you are coming from another source like Cyanogenmod or AOSP then you must wipe first. No excuses.
Please Unlock using the Asus Unlock Tool first found here.
Note installing and running this app will wipe your device and void your warranty.
Finally copy the ROM to a folder on your internal SD and flash it from Recovery, and reboot
Don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup first and give the ROM 5 mins to stabilise!

Nice, thanks for all of your hard work.

Stay with stock the others are a bit small as they were designed for a 1280x800 screen. When I tried to resize them they corrupt for some reason. You can easily switch back to another by just reinstalling the rom.
flashed over you modified stock, no problem!

might need to wipe, your color tweak didnt apply
This ROM is smooth and fast, thank you for another great piece of work from, Sbdags.
However, the battery status seems not reporting it is charging when I plug in to the wall jack. I had xposed and gravity box installed, so I uninstalled both of them, but it is the same. But my tablet gets charged just fine.
Any one encountered the same problem?
@sbdags, i dont think there is a corresponding DPI for 1600*1000p and 1280*800p
and how do you get that gray color pulldown
Thank you sdbags for the greate work. I really like that the blue is gone and all the performance tweaks too.
Unfortunately, the same problem is here with the usb port as after applying a fixer on stock. When there are a few files on the usb drive (videos, documents etc) the pad starts reading them and at some point it cannot read the rest of them no matter what. Trying to open them gives
read failed: EIO (I/O error)
java.io.IOException
The drive's ok as I can read all files on stock or PC.
By the way I tried manualy correcting permissions.xml on stock to let the system rw the usb and it gave me the same issue.
This is with 2560 x1600 resolution and 320 dpi. [emoji12] View attachment 2885962

if you choose another RES the DPI is overwritten. Sorry but standard DPI changing goes out of the window once you start messing with the res
The gray pull down is included by default. What does yours look like?
hello! and thanks for the great work again!!
i encounter a serious problem with the new release when passwords are asked. the easiest way to reproduce is with a new wlan connection.
when you enter the password hidden there is a wrong keyboard layout, for example a ! (shift+1) will produce a +.
i tried dirty flash first, the wiped and flashed again, still the same.
with the dirty flash if you activated the 'show password' option everything went well, after the wipe (at the initial setup screen) even this didn't help.
another thing (already with the old release too): in firefox the pages are always displayed a little larger than the screen. any idea why this is so?
regards,
andy

Hi Andy,
1. This is an issue with the dock I'm guessing? This is the way Asus designed it as they want you to use their soft keyboard which sets the layout of the dock. If you use another soft keyboard then the dock reverts to US layout. The fix is to use the keyboard manger I included with the rom and make sure to set asus keyboard when docked.
If that wasn't your issue I have no idea!
2. Ask firefox please. Chrome, dolphin, and the stock browser all render pages fine. Or send me a link to check. If you lowered the res or dpi then it could be that causing your issue but I don't use firefox so do their support for them.

You must do a full wipe in TWRP if coming from another ROM. Do not do a full wipe from the bootloader. Don't forget to do a Nandroid Backup first and give the ROM 15 mins to stabilise! The first boot will take 5 to 10 minutes!

I will do the download post tomorrow but it will be available in the download tab of this thread in about 10 minutes
Enjoy!
Thank you for this ROM!
Before I attempt to install it, I have a question: will the Aroma installer allow me to avoid installing most of the Google apps? Ideally, I'd like the ROM to be installed with no more apps than I would get with a "micro" or even "pico" version of gapps.

Aroma got stuck for me on the screen for selecting experimental features, but hitting volume up had no effect. It remained stuck.
No other key interactions worked, either, except to reboot.
Any ideas?

+1. Ok now.
Took the beta 1 and 2 from androidfilehost (just need to know where to look ). It also happend to me that the installation would sometimes hang or even reboot the recovery (TWRP). With beta 2 i needed three tries. For the rest: very good as always!!
I think that omni roms don't allow immersive mode like cm does. In CM 12.1 I hide the navigation bar to get some extra screen space and I control the tablet via LMT pie menus and gestures. Is there a way to do the same in omni?

Yes Aroma is a bit dodgy on the device - sometimes it hard locks and all you can do is try again - however this was here before we had touch. Not much I can do about it. The latest aroma builds don't even support our device so we are stuck for now.
As for CM12 stuff - nope it's omni but it soes have omni switch which will eventually allow full screen - but you never know what will be developed in the future. It is kept light for a reason - so it is fast and smooth.
The ROM is running very fast and all seems good except for 1 program I like.
I have a very robust infrastructure in the house and I use an app call SmartWIFIAnalyser.
It will automatically switch to the best WIFI signal as I move around the house.
When I start it - the tablet barfs and returns to the bootup screen (wavy lines) - once it returns from losing its mind, it will slowly get back to normal.
This isn't a deal killer - but it works on Zombie-Pop on my TF700 ??
I tried to grab a logcat and I have provided a link to it .... hope I did this right!

Bingo! It now works but once I enable it and come back out to the home screen it is super small on large screen. There has been some other weirdness with the screen like the drawer shows really large icons (2 to a page ??? ). But nothing I can't handle - ESC out of the screen and go right back in and its working.
Cheers and thanks for another great ROM!

Can't seem to get it to do that again ..... Now when I come back to the home page its blank. Hit ESC a couple of times and it comes back normal. ???
Maybe same problem - with different symptoms ... ?
I will gab screen shots if it happens again.
Cheers

Ok. Went into the store and found there was an update to the launcher I use - KK Launcher Prime. I did the update and came back to the home screen - normal.
When I went into the drawer it did it again and have attached the screen shots. They are really faint but you can see 3 icons only. Esc back out and go back in and it's working ???
Thinking maybe its the launcher at fault
