where is the calculator app??? - Sprint HTC One (M8)

i see the widget, but theres no icon to put it on a homescreen

I downloaded the ROM that Mike1986. Created to check if it had it and it has the calculator in it. I'm not sure if he added it to the ROM or it comes with other carrier versions. Here is a link to his thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51383192
The ROM is a large download, about 1.2 Gb in size. I can upload the calculator apk file and share it if allowed.

I just made a flashable zip for calculator.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51499514#post51499514

I was able to install it by opening the apk too.

My phone has the calculator app but is missing the flashlight app.

That is the the Sense 5.5 calculator. This phone does have a calculator app in /data/preload, but it is deleted when you unlock. I have attached the Sense 6.0 calculator to this post.

Everything in /data gets wiped, I think he means why does HTC put the calculator in /data/Preload instead of /system like the rest of the apps.

I guess it's their way of punishing us for unlocking. We need an untouched copy of /data/preload from somewhere.

I think MassStash has a copy, he was asking for the unlocked data partition so he can compare what is missing after you unlock.

Yes but his removes some of the stuff like LG Launcher and such, and it also adds various scripts and such
Thanks. I plan to stick with the stock rooted rom and removing bloatware is something I'd like to do. Could you provide a list that tells me exactly what this removes?

works for me
Ok. I was able to get it. Thanks. Two questions:
(1) since this removes the bloat form the stock (odexed) V8 rom, I'm asuming it removes the .apks from system/app and removes the corresponding .odexs from system/framework, yes?
(2) There's a few apps and widgets like the LG Calendar widget I'd like to keep around. Can I simply make a copy of the .apks and .odexs this removes and restore individual ones by simply copying them back into their corresponding folders or is it more complicated?

(1) yes
(2) yes, just copy them back into /system/app make sure they have correct permissions otherwise they will fc. you can always fix permissions by using the option in CWM
this worked good except there were a few apps it didnt remove...like blockbuster and some verizon apps
awesome work, just a quick question:
I thought bluetooth function was tied into the music.apk on previous ROMS ... and by freezing or removing it, bluetooth would no longer work. Is this not the case? I could be completely wrong here

In previous versions this was the case, I have not tested it on the zv8 version but I am assuming it is still the case because it is the only app that will stream through Bluetooth in my car. Any other app (Pandora, Google music) will only play through an aux cable

Is it possible to run a .bat file that simply makes the ROM deodexed and allows a user to pick and choose what .apks to remove? Is there a master list of the .apks and the purpose/use? I know it would seem self explanatory by file name but it would be useful yo know if a certain .apk controlled a specific feature as well as system critical stuff to leave alone.
I certainly would like my revo to be more responsive and process more tasks at once, but I would also like to use some of the original features and software. I'd also like to learn more about how the process of adding and extracting stuff from ROMs works.

[Q] De-Sense mod and lockscreen call problem

This is a known problem if you remove the Sense lockscreen. I searched for solutions before but cannot find any for our phone. I do remember someone said there's a specific ROM for another device which tried to fix this issue. But I'm not of the result. So I suggest you leave Sense lockscreen alone.

I've been searching all day. I think in a viper rom in one x there's a workaround but it's in a roms tweaks menu so I don't know what they've done.
Just for reference if anyone knows which other files besides the HtcLockscreen.apk should remain in order for the htc lockscreen to work please do tell..

Depending on the Sense version, there are also a number of files "Idlescreen*.apk". Two of them are a must. Idlescreen_Base.apk and Idlescreen_shortcut.apk. Others are lockscreen widgets. Choose what you want.
If you're not using HTC Rosie but want to have lockscreen shortcuts, you can check out my app. But first you must have your HTC lockscreen restored properly.

Unfortunately by restoring (sense 3.6):
Idlescreen_Base.apk
Idlescreen_shortcut.apk
Htclockscreen.apk
lockscreen still doesn't work.. when phone is locked there's a black screen only and you can't unlock it in any way..
must be something else too

Try adding back fusion*.*. Maybe com.htc.idlescreen_SN.apk too. HTC made their apps very dependent on one another which is also why a particular app can never be isolated and used in non Sense ROM.

Center clock mod

I came across this and wanted to share. It works great. I didn't make this, just found and wanted to share.
Make sure to backup your current system Ui. Apk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2954426
Here. Is the original system ui files. Not a flashable zip. So unzip and replace the 2 files in system/privapp/systemui.

I'm getting offset carrier ID on the lockscreen with a different DPI
I have stock DPI and have the same issue. Probably has something to do with the fact the mod is for the N5 which has the DPI set to something else

I modded the nexus 6's systemui apk to center the clock, and make it gray. So far its working well enough. It looks a little weird on the lockscreen though, as it is not quite aligned with the other icons. Feel free to flash it and let me know how it goes. Backup your system first though.
I flashed it.. Nice work!
Hopefully we can see it removed from the lockscreen completely once the bugs are worked out.

[Q] Colored emojis on XV 4.3?

Hello friends!
Not sure it it's the right subforum to post this question, but I'll give it a try anyway.
So as you know the 4.3 software has automatically built in emojis, but they're unfortunately black&white, which very annoying on for examle snapchat, where your recipient gets a photo with these ugly b&w emojis.
So my question is actually if there's a way to change these emojis to those KK coloured or these ones from iOS. I'm rooted, and know i might get it if i install CM with 4.4, but i really won't install any ROMs right now. But is there any other way? Maybe modifying the system files or something, idk
I'm btw on Xperia V with stock 4.3 JB, FW:9.2.A.2.5

You just gotta replace AndroidEmoji.ttf in /system/fonts directory with a suitable emoji font file, like this one.
Just rename the file accordingly and move to system, then reboot. Done.

Sounds damn easy, sure I can do it on just a rooted device with stock FW? Don't need any extra software?
