1. Flash official .266 via Flashtool
2. Lock bootloader (=recover TA partition) if you want (if you want you warranty back)
3. Flash OTA .201 update (if you recieve one) or .201 FTF file (if already someone uploaded it) (its only small update. For me about 12MB)

1. Flash official .266 via Flashtool.
- My phone was rooted and unlock bootloader and runing rom cook now. It's no problem if I flash it with Official.266 ? (can I flash via CMW ?)
3. Flash OTA .201 update (if you recieve one) or .201 FTF file (if already someone uploaded it) (its only small update. For me about 12MB)
- I downloaded this file by my Laptop and it not 12MB, exactly it's C5303_12.1.A.1.201_CH.zip - 760.3 MB (760.3 mb) and this is the link : "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703651"

You have a ftf file with whole system. You don't have to flash. 266 and then update. You can flash. 201 direct. Its not only small ota update. Its complet firmware so you can flash it without any previous version. You will loose root, but when you have unlocked bootloader you can root easily every firmware.

how do I do now ?

Maybe old recovery. Maybe sth else. I don't know. Didn't try it so far.

Now I can use computer not phone.
As was said. Its a FTF file not recovery zip update. Extract the file and you will recieve a ftf file which you have to used with Flashtool. Just read first post from your link. And think a little.

Beacuse you need to become a developer to get developer options.
Just "click" five (or more) times on system version in Settings -> Phone Info - then you will get Developer Options Menu.

since you are on unlocked bootloader u can't use ota or PCC or SUS for updating ur device, u get failed or bricked
best way is to use .ftf and flash it with flash tools, u can check or uncheck some wipes to keep ur data or use back-up programs (eg: Titanium Backup) and do a clean install and then restore ur data
don't use integrated program, it sometimes fail to restore different back-ups

Read my how to about flashing stock roms with flashtool. See link below!

Sir, can I ask you a little problem.? When I want to instal app to sd card, My phone was'nt rooted. I did step by step flowing this link : http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-install-apps-onto-your-SD-Card-No-Root/.
Every thing allright, But after all I didn't find "Move to usb storage" option like about link ?. what's wrong? My sd card is ntfs format.(not fat 32).

Unlocked or locked bootloader?
If you are unlocked, here's the easiest way.
1. Download Advance Stock Kernel with Recovery v05 (FW: 10.1.1.A.1.253) (NEW) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167381
2. Download SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38154110&postcount=2
3. Copy SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip to your SD card.
4. unzip Advance Stock Kernel with Recovery v05 (FW: 10.1.1.A.1.253) (NEW), and extract boot.img.
5. use fastboot to push boot.img (Which contains CWM).
6. Reboot into recovery, and flash SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip from SD card.
You've got root.
i think its locked mate, i had it rooted at 434 version and now that i putted 253 version via flashing it erases root and i think that it locked bootloader, i dont know /;

*Follow the steps exactly and you will get back root with recovery. Not sure whether you have recovery in the first place as you didn't state.
No have any recoveries, just simple phone with the new firm
Xperia Z
Guess you need to downgrade first and ensure you have root, recovery before moving to the instructions which I have passed you earlier on.
Flash with .434 ftf, root and install dual recovery for locked bootloader. Goto CWRP recovery (volume down) and wipe only system install either of the available already rooted zip. dont wipe cache/dalvik cache. reboot. install supersu from play store and uninstall previously installed superuser app. thats it!
Root from stock Rom will be here soon just wait. If someone wants to root they have to downgrade and update again using a different Rom if u do that won't the phone be unbranded then meaning future ota or pcc Won't work or am I being daft ,

If need be, keep a copy of the branded/carrier FTF on your computer that you can flash back to if you need anything to do with warranty, easy. For now, Global unbranded seems to be the way.

Root Guide For 4.2.2

All credit goes to @zhuhang. I have no contribution to it.
Original thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45344021
This method will help you gain root access on the latest .67 4.2.2 update that Sony recently pushed out.
Disclaimer:
- This requires a PC.
- No CWM needed.
- This installs a Chinese root manager rather than superuser or superSU. But I will teach you how to replace it below.
Instruction:
1. Download the rooting application. (This app can root many other devices )
VRoot_1.6.0.3690
http://www.mediafire.com/download/v3...3690_Setup.exe
2. Install the app. This is a Chinese app so I will guide you. Below is a step by step screenshot attached guide.
3. Start VROOT and root now!
4. Now we need to install SuperSU from play store to replace the Chinese root manager called 授权管理 1.0.4.
5. Go to play store and install SuperSU.
6. Start SuperSU and you will be asked for permission by 授权管理 1.0.4, choose 允许(means allow). (Should be the right side option.)
7. SuperSU will prompt to install SU binary, go ahead with OK and it will display successful.
8. Now, freeze 授权管理 1.0.4 in titanium backup, just in case you need it again.
Note: If you uninstall straight away from app manager, you need to make sure SuperSU updated the binary.
9. Re-run SuperSU to make sure everything is alright. You will be prompt again to install SU binary, just do what it asked.
10. After that, you are rooted with SuperSU and 授权管理 1.0.4 will not be there anymore.

Can someone upload an ftf with just the kernel.sin and bootloader.sin for the C5503? I tried creating one using C5502 kernel and i got stuck in a boot loop. luckily my battery was just at about 10% and so I quickly flashed back the 4.2.2 Kernel of the 5503 and all is well.

Tried with the C5503 kernel. Same boot loop. I think we'll have to find an alternate root method, as unlike the Z, the ZR doesnt have .234 firmware [that is also 4.2]
Experimenting with the Z firmware. Wish me luck
Why not flash only kernel from the previous firmware? Isn't working?
UPD. I see - not work

Firstly you need to unlock your bootloader. Google that, its easy. OR you can do it through flashtools (not tested).
Enable USB Debugging and unknown sources option on your phone before proceeding.
Download Flashtool, Open it. Flash the the kernel of an old firmware of Xperia ZR which was rootable.
Reboot your Xperia ZR after flashing. Connect to PC in USB Debugging mode.
Do not forget to close FLASHTOOL.
Extract the downloaded “DooMLoRD_Easy-Rooting-Toolkit_v18_perf-event-exploit.zip” file and run the “runme_win” file.
Follow onscreen instructions to root Xperia ZR and once it is rooted, device will reboot. Verify that you are rooted, run SuperSU app.
Now switch off your Xperia ZR. OPEN FLASHTOOL.
Now you need to flash the true kernel of Android 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.0.244 firmware of Xperia ZR.
After flashing, disconnect the phone from PC, reboot it and your Xperia ZR is now rooted

So basically you're doing:
Use FlashTool to flash the 4.2.2 FTF
Downgrade the kernel by using FlashTool back to 4.1.2
Run the DoomLord rooting kit
Flash back 4.2.2 kernel using FlashTool
To flash the kernel you need an unlocked bootloader. What I don't understand is how to flash the kernel only? I found the kernel.sin inside the FTF file. Can I just delete other .sin file and flash the remaining FTF file?
Sorry if my questions are noob.

The problem is the bootloader? I thought doom's thread said that this was for locked and unlocked bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader will lead to a lot of people avoiding the root method.

Yes. I fixed the bootloop issue. Need any help with the bootloop?
If you've got a bootloop, pull the battery asap as once it dies, you won't be able to flash ftf and the device will be bricked.
To fix bootloop [and still not get root access]
1. Open the 4.2.2 ftf file in flashtool.
2. Exclude everything [tick in the exclude box] except the kernel, and untick everything in the wipe box [data, applog]
3. Flash the kernel by pressing the volume down button while plugging in USB cable [DONT PRESS POWER BUTTON AFTER BATTERY PULL AS OTHERWISE YOU'LL GO BACK INTO BOOTLOOP]
4. After it flashes [should take a couple of seconds], reboot and you should be back to normal
I REPEAT PULL THE BATTERY IF IN A BOOTLOOP OR YOU'LL LAND UP WITH ANOTHER PAPERWEIGHT

i think the kernel switching fix will not work on ZR.. we don't have a rootable 4.2 kernel
i think the 423 kernel is 4.2

It happened to me also, but it's possible to recover from it.
Install PC Companion on your PC.
Go to Support Zone.
First option -> Update phone / tablet software.
You will see a underlined link that says "repair phone / tablet"
Just follow the instructions.
You will need your phone to have at least 50% battery level. Take out the battery, insert again, and connect your phone to your PC via USB while pressing the Volume + button. You will hear a sound coming from your PC meaning it's been connected.
Sony PC Companion then will flash your phone with the latest firmware. It takes a while and you need to have internet connection, but it works.
As you flashed the Russian system rom, the firmware installed in your phone by Sony PC companion will be the Russian Android 4.2.2. No problem with this as it includes all the languages.
Do this as soon as possible as you need your battery charged and you can't charge the battery in your phone while in the bootloop state.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure what we did wrong to be stuck in a bootloop, but after my ZR being reflashed by Sony PC Companion I just flashed the Nordic 4.2.2 ROM and my phone remains unrooted until there is a easier method to get root

I can confirm that! If you are on rooted 10.4.B.0.569 version, you can update to this latest version following the guide in OP, start with point 11!

just start with point 1.
1. if you're in non-rooted 4.3, rooted 4.2, etc., flash SGP321 4.1.2 FTF using FlashTool and root
4.1.2 Firmware
FlashTool Guide + download
Root 4.1.2 + Guide
2. Select Debugging on from the Settings Menu
3. Select Unknown Sources under Security Menu in Settings
4. Download 4.3 .101.zip and stripped.ftf:
ZIP File
FTF File
5. Put 'SGP321 Xperia Tablet Z LTE_4.3 10.4.1.B.0.101_CE1.zip' on (the external) SDcard1;
6. Put 'SGP321 Xperia Tablet Z LTE_4.3 10.4.1.B.0.101_CE1 stripped.ftf' inside the Flashtool/firmwares folder;
7. Download XZDualRecovery (latest Version is TabZ-lockeddualrecovery2.7.86.installer)
http://nut.xperia-files.com/
8. on Tablet: Install Busybox by Stephen (Stericson) from Play store
9. connect your tablet and install the XZ Dual recovery folder Install.bat file
10. Select the Option as SuperUser (2), it will copy all the stuffs and reboot and start in Philz Recovery.
11. Flash 'SGP321 Xperia Tablet Z LTE_4.3 10.4.1.B.0.101_CE1.zip' in Philz,
12. do not reboot but go back to the main menu, then go to Power->Power off

Came back to rooted stock from CM11 as too many apps don't play nicely.
Simple procedure. Copy flashable zip to SD, save FTF somewhere on computer, save chainfire supersu flashable installer to SD also.
Reboot to recovery, wipe all, flash rom zip, flash supersu. Power down from recovery and reboot to flashmode, flash stripped ftf.
Reboot again , profit
M.
The zip has maxed out connections on Drive. Can you host somewhere else?
OR
maybe someone who already has the file can mirror somewhere?
Will I loose all the settings, data, aps etc. if I upgrade from rooted .569? Thanks!
No, you wont

Thank you so much! Just upgraded my SGP-321 from 10.4.B.0.569 to 10.4.1.B.0.101. Works like a charm! All data and root remained intact!

Thanks for the answer. It's not a good news...
Any chance that in the near future there will be a way to root B.101 without loosing the data?
Can this be flashed on a SGP312?
No.

[Q] Upgrading Xperia T with Flashtool. Some questions.

Hi guys as we can see Sony after ages relased 4.3 for Xperia T. I want to update this phone by myself ASAP, my brand will release it maybe in 2051 nevermind. I've got some questions.
1. Do I need to unlock bootloader if I want to update it to Stock 4.3 Android (I mean Android 4.3 from Vodafone-Germany) ?
2. My phone custom number is 1266-2257 while the phones from Vodafone-Germany 1266-0537 is it imporant and it makes me unpossible to update?
3. (Below) Is this proper way to update phone by flashtool? [If not please give me step-by-step tutorial that will not brick my phone]
1.how to install the newest Android 4.1.2 for Sony XPERIA T LT30p
a) first of all, check your firmware version (if you already have the newest one, you do not need this tutorial)
b) download and install latest Flashtool from here (mirror)
c) download also latest Android 4.1.2 (mirror) for Sony XPERIA T LT30p
d) paste the ftf file downloaded in step c) to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
e) open the XPERIA Flashtool, click on flash and choose downloaded firmware, than click ok. Important - if you do not want to delete any data of your phone, just uncheck flashing userdata.sin file. All data will remain in your phone, but sometimes it can cause additional troubles. So it is better (and I recommend that) to do the backup of your personal data, than proceed with clean instalation and then restore your personal data.
f) turn off your phone and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect phone to PC with holding volume down button
g) after few minutes all is done and your phone gets the new firmware

Root from 534 to 136 Stuck on Sony logo

Hello,
i got a Sony Xperia Z1 C6903,
i bought it 5 Weeks ago, it got the Firmware 290
i Downgraded it to 534 and rooted it with "Root with Restore by Bin4ry"
then i flashed XZ Locked Dual Recovery and had no problems
i wiped everything like i should
and then i tried to install via TWRP the 290 Flashable.zip
after it i shut off my device (i didn't reboot just shut it off)
then i started to flash the striped 290 on the device
after this when i try to start the device all i see is SONY
and nothing else..
when i downgrade the firmware again to 534 and root it there are no problems... only when i try to flash to 290 it get stuck at the sony screen...
is there someone that could help me? :/
EDIT:

yes i can via flashtool
there is no problem in flashing 534 with flashtool
was is creeping me out is that when i stuck on the sony logo i can't even go into the recovery so i have to flash everytime 534 root it install the recovery agauin and then i can try it another time...
i also tried it with phil recovery and "wipe to install a new rom" but even this didn't helped :/
when i didn't wiped anything after rooting 534 and install 290 over the rooted 534 i was able to go into the recovery and i saw "xperia" and the animation but it always rebooted at this point :/

Sure. Unlock bootloader is needed if you want to flash custom kernel. All ftf on sticky thread on general section are pure stock ROM, with pure stock kernel. So locked bootloader won't be a problem.

I was having the same angry problem.
I was on. 534 with Root and DualRecovery I wipe system, cache, data, internal storage and flash than the .136 first time a Germany Version then the stripped (Germany Version) without reboot the phone .zip then I got a bootloop after 8 times flash again I notice that not I make a mistake it is the faulty .zip that have a error inside( the flash was fine but it stuck on Sony logo)
Then I take the two files from Nut Tut. 136 and it work without problems.
