TeamVanir presents
VANIR
Yeah, it's got a HEMI.
Vanir was founded on the premise of performance tuning Android. We are based on AOSP, but include features (many of which have been rewritten to be more efficient) from other ROMs.
Our webkit, chromium, and skia are aosp/master merged with codeaurora, with linaro fixes on top.
BY LINARO, I MEAN GLOBAL "-O3 -fstrict-aliasing".... we didn't just switch toolchains. Here at Team Vanir, WE GO HARD.
Features
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
omniswitch
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
improved notification handling (active display & halo are in review also)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta

Vanir forked CM's unified repo so everything is in sync, just a lot of different features and customization options. It works on my atrix hd, no issues.
There's an OTA Updater but it does not seem to be working, so you'll have to update nightlies manually.

This is a good rom. I have been using it for two days now.
Only bug is I can't get Gps to lock. I came from unified CM11 latest nightly.

I can not for the love of anyone in this immense universe get this or any unified rom to work with my T-Mobile service, it's annoying. Has anyone been able to get any unified rom to work with T-Mobile or any gsm carrier?

Tekno has an Atrix hd I think. Since the unified is detecting an xt926, it's writing build.prop settings for Verizon cdma. You have to manually edit a few lines, assuming you've already done the radio nv string hack. There's a build prop guide by coolloser, or you could ask someone with an xt925 to upload their build.prop.

GPS
Great ROM, been using Vanir on Nexus 7 for a long time. The only bug I see with the Razr HD with Vanir, is no GPS. Is anyone using this ROM and having GPS work?

Unfortunately I couldn't figure it out. So I'm back on cm11. If GPS worked this would be my daily driver.

I'm a hardware guy- HiFi, stereo, home theater repair. Let's hope one of the software guys can figure it out, it's really a great ROM.

Anybody know what do I need to add to the build prop to get my T-Mobile service to work with this rom since this and all unified ROMs keep detecting that my phone is a XT926 and so it's not letting me use my gsm network.

Welcome to CMB Roms- CM done Better... Dark Themed for his/her Pleasure
Why CMB?
We are just better , in a nutshell we set out to give you the best of CM, with none of the annoying features (see list below), all this wrapped in a custom black theme. We used the KISS principal when deciding what to offer, we based our frameworks on CM alone (not FrankFrameworks like some others out there), enabling us to provide updates and bug fixes as soon as CM does. This doesn't mean we are only relying on them for development, it just eases merging.
Features
Based on Android 4.3_r3.1, CM10.2
All current features CM10.2
Dark Holo Theme, with drawables from TeamBaked)
Dark Mms app (thanks to my mates at TeamBaked for the start)
Dark Calendar
Dark Contacts
Ramdisk security tweaks, you can adb as root now!
Bash "tab to complete" now works
Remount helper, in adb shell
Old
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /system
New
Code:
remount /system
Better Right??
We plan to add more features, suggestions are welcome (but sometimes ignored )

Might be kernel related. PAC was a bit iffy the last week with those for me.
Phone instability.

Surprising at first because this is not the place I've seen it before, but TOTALLY intuitive after I thought about it. Good call!
I've noticed some phone call problems (random drop-out) and not hanging up. Not sure what I should do. Maybe try to flash a new modem?
Noticed some issues with Play Store (e.g., wouldn't download apps).

Mein as well... enjoy folks, let me know how it runs! Tested on CDMA Photon Q (xt897), should work fine for other msm8960 moto's.
NFC, BT, turn on but are untested. Wifi works great, as does 3g.
I use PA gapps, but any 4.4.2 gapps should work. Enjoy!
If you folks have issues (I'm expecting an issue with the home button) let me know!

This has the stock CM kernel. You want to over/underclock you need to run a custom kernel.
Thanks for confirming the home button, I figured that would be the case. I'll push a patch for that tonight.
So do I flash the aosp kernel or cm 11kernel since it says aosp based ? Thanks bud !!

You really should announce which one you are using since there are two devices here...
Looking, it seems you are talking about xt925. Perhaps something failed with the upload, it happens. Hence why they are nightlies, there will be a new build tomorrow

It's a proprietary blob issue from what I gather - all 4.4 ROM's will have the issue, likely until we have an official 4.4 ROM from the OEM.

Hey @arrrghhh why the 15-01 nightly for xt925 only has 150mb? or it's a corrupt upload maybe?

Unfortunately. Scroll up, look at post #11/12.
So far the ROM is pretty solid. Is it possible to include and option to hide the battery icon? I prefer the battery bar but its overkill to have both. Also not sure if this is with all 4.4 ROMs but I can't get bookmarks to sync with AOSP browser.
Edit: found a small bug. I am unable to adjust the brightness settings based on the amount of incoming light. It is that small settings icon on the right that is not working.

Here are Pa's changes in their own changlog thread/post just click me. As for our device changes I've merged in the latest fixes for msm8960 as well as fixed msm8960_jbbl. So whether your moto did or didn't get the 4.4.2 offical update it should be appearing there eventually if it's supported by cm.}
06-02-14 {
Haven't updated this changelog cause I'm lazy. Check pa's page for their changes as for our devices included in moto_msm8960 I've been pulling in upstream changes from dhacker + cm as of TODAY 06-02-14 the patches for 3.4 kernel has been pushed so you will need to update your bootloader to stock 4.4.2. Simply backup or setup flash the ota and then flash the newest paranoidandroid. }
03-27-14 {
Everything is working exepct nfc won't turn off from settings.
And included gestures on by default & extra keys from cm in aosp keyboard. [If you want it just check that you don't flash gapps that replace keyboard.]

Yeah, peek first build is the 0327. Mine is working without issues. Didn't tried ART yet but it seems PA don't recommend it. Nevermind, it's the usual warning from CM and PA. I'm switching to it now to do some testing.
I heard peek was wakelocking and draining battery awfully, any comments on how is working now?

I can't be really objective yet because I had this installed 1 day ago. Didn't noticed an "awfully battery draining" but it could be better. We're awared how keeping peek active could impact on battery performance because those 10 sec sensor window. It has some issues already, sometimes sensors won't respond and it won't wake up when you pick it up. But peek is on beta yet and all-in-all is working as espected.
So I flashed the 3/27 build and idk if I'm missing something but I have like no options...no extra goodies no peek no pie seemed like stock KitKat so I restored my previous ROM, I'm still interested in trying this seemed smooth just no extra tweaks or settings on my end...am I the only one with this issue? Clean wipe flashed through twrp wiped cache and all that jazz lol

Didn't see this sorry I will also try this!
Also, probably a very dumb question. but does coming from the unofficial AOSPA build count as coming from a different ROM (AKA require a factory reset?) or is just a system/cache wipe okay.

It is a work in progress. The concept is to use a system WeatherProvider with a simple API to go beyond just a simple weather app. For now, we have a nice weather notification and a current weather string in expanded status bar. We'll have more options in time.

I've got a question on the gaps, if the latest nightly is 4.4.4 wouldn't we need the 4.4.4 gapps
I didn't see it on your gapps tab there.

Aosp does not allow that since 4.0 I think. Nothing we can do there except direct you to the market for a Facebook sync app. There's quite a few.

Wow ok thank you for the heads up i had no idea. I usually run just sense but lately i have been trying aosp out for a change.
Please help. I can't get past the activation screen and the one time I did I put in my WiFi stuff. Then put in my Gmail info and then my phone said that I had no service data or WiFi and I couldn't go any further. What's going on. I really want to try this out. Usually I can figure just about any problem out but I tried 10 x and I can't get past. Any ideas?

PAC is 4.4.4, but it doesn't matter.

Is the known CM wifi bug present?
Only for XT-1032
This ROM looks good I wanna try it out but I have a doubt. Is this ROM only for XT-1032 or MOTO G all variants ?? If it is for all variants then is it works fine on dual sim variant (XT-1033).
Thanks

no dual sim support at this time. convert to single
Using latest version.
Settings->Weather->select Celsius, immediate FC of Weather followed by FC of Settings UI and loop FCs, can't provide logcat as I can only hard reboot.
Interesting ROM.
This ROM is REALLY FAST! No lag whatsoever!
I have XT1033 converted to GPE. Can I flash this rom and most importantly does wifi issue (not able to connect to wifi hotspot) exist in this rom like most of the other roms?

You'll have to manually assign a static IP address.

ATTENTION EVERYBODY
as of September 14th you must change the file system of your system and cache partitions to f2fs in recovery. this applies ONLY IF YOU HAVE NON GPE. gpe edition does not have to do anything. but regular edition moto g needs to convert system and cache to f2fs. data is already f2fs on the non gpe moto g and i wanted to make it all f2fs for better performance. thanks and dont complain of no boot if you did not do this.

Hi !
I have installed this ROM today.
And I have few things to talk about.
First, PLEASE use the old fstab .... I need to test ROM regulary and I absolutly don't won't to modify their boot.img each time... I've personnally customize the EOS One to fit.
Second, the Weather stuff don't work. It FC Crash everything.
Thirdly (and finally), if you are a Team EOS memeber, do you know what they doing with their "l-preview" manifest ?
Thanks.
PS : Update your trees with some CM fixes.
