SM-G900M Stock image from Kies - Galaxy S 5 General

My phone is the SM-G900M
It came with G900MUBU1ANCA/G900MUUB1ANCA/G900MUBU1ANCA/G900MUBU1ANCA.
Kies gave me G900MUBU1ANCE/G900MUUB1ANCE/G900MUBU1ANCE/G900MUBU1ANCE
The file encrypted is SM-G900M_TTT_1_20140401161530_5yppwuwlms.zip.enc2 and un encrypted and extracted is G900MUBU1ANCE_G900MUUB1ANCE_G900MUBU1ANCE_HOME.tar.md5.
I didnt do the update yet - still poking around to decide if I want to do it.
At the very least I may flash the system image and leave modem and bl the way they are at NCA.

How to get back to stock FW/Modem/etc

Hi all,
Friend flashed the S to FW 2.1 ver XWJM2. Stock firmware was I9000XXJF3.
Is there any way to use Kies to restore the factory default FW to JF3 and to also restore the modem and CSC parts too? If not, how is it possible to get all these back to JF3? Does the JF3 package on samsung-firmwares contain the extra files? Other firmwares seem to contain only a phone firmware...
I basically want the phone back to how it was from the factory - is this possible at all without using custom FWs from Samsung-Firmwares?
All firmwares off samsung-firmwares are official ones created by Samsung themselves, and are not modified. The PDA, Phone and CSC tar files are included inside each .rar archive, so if you grab the JF3 fw, it'll have the JF3 phone and CSC tar files too.
Hope this clarifies things for you
OK thanks. As a test I downgraded to JF1 and plugged into Kies. Shows an update is available but the upgrade option is grayed out and it says "The firmware on this device cannot be updated".
I can flash to JF3 if I need to sell it so thats not a problem, but I'm slightly concerned about Kies not working. Does this mean that when 2.2 comes out via Kies it won't update?
No, it probably just means that Kies doesn't recognize JF1 as an "official" firmware and so doesn't attempt to upgrade it. Though if you want to stay on the newest firmwares, you'll want to dump Kies anyway. I'd actually recommend the JM2 firmware, it's the latest Eclair firmware and the most stable (JM5 came out today, but I don't know about it).

[Q] Flashing PDA/PHONE/CSC can spoil efs???

Hi all,
I'm preparing to flash a stock JPY version to my SGS (samfirmware one). In order to get the same version of all partitions (pda, phone and csc) I mean to flash all of them (pit+repartition).
Is this procedure dangerous for my efs folder if the CSC is different from my actual operator (movistar-spain)?
I don't know what information CSC carries on and i'm scared of spoil any essential folder...
Another option is update through KIES to the last fw that my operator has released (2.2) and then just the JPY PDA, leaving untouched PHONE and CSC, but in that case i won't have the same CSC/PHONE version than the PDA one.
What would you advice??
In any case, later on I'll flash a JPY stock voodoo which is my target until a stable Gingerbread is released...
Thanks a lot...
I am not sure if it is dangerous or no, but you should always keep a backup of your /efs folder just in case. You can either copy one manually with a file manager and save it on your external SD card, or use an app to do it...or both. I both manually made a copy and used SGS Toolbox, free on the Market.
When in doubt, back it up!
Welcome,
Since you are new to flashing the SGS with custom Rom (i suppose), i can only recommand you to stick with Kies rom update, until you master and understand every aspect of Kernel/rom (pit-csc-pda/partition).
Custom flashing is not supposed to alter the efs, but some partition error or file corruption could happen.
Anyway if you think you are ready, make a check list, verify the 3 Combo button, AND ALWAYS! ALWAYS! make a backup of your efs folder (all / folder is better in fact). Do also an img of your own phone, it'll give you a chance to reflash it to Stock.
Good luck.

@ CalabiYau, the first thing that you must do is a copy of your efs folder (for your Imei some error in the flash might to require the use this backup), then you can put all the PDA and Modem part with CSC Fop.

[Q] Need ddexe file from NG3, how to restore it?

Been trying to update my brothers S5 running NG3 to the OA1, however it fails cause previous owner of the phone I guess rooted it and must have unrooted and modified the system/bin/ddexe file as it complains during sideloading that file has unexpected contents.
Wondering if someone has this file in stock form and then how do I inject it back into the original location? Can I do this from ADB?
Is it possible to say dirty flash the phone by say just dropping the entire /system like many of us do on the Nexus 7 (2013)?
Or do I really have no choice but to completely wipe it by going back to NCE via Odin, the OTA to NG3, then OA1, then finally Lollipop? He has a lot of data we'd have to completely redo which we were looking to avoid doing.
So looking in the NG3 OTA update, looks like this file ddexe was never touched or patched. So then pulled the NCE stock firmware, extracted it, then the system.img.ext4, them pulled that and converted it to an img file, then extracted the ddexe file which I believe is the one I need to put back in.
Now I just need to see if I can ADB this file into the phone and overwrite the existing one (if its there) even though that the phone is not rooted (which I don't believe it is).

Sboot.bin download locations?

Hello. I have read multiple root how-tos and guides. I have searched Google and bing for "sboot.bin" and several other variations for Samsung Galaxy S6. All of the guides i've found have the same instructions, and even link to the same sboot.bin engineering boot loader that has been taken down by Samsung. Can anyone else offer a link or suggestion on how to obtain the sboot.bin engineering boot loader? I'm tempted to just walk into T-mobile and ask for it.

Ok. Well I managed to find the sboot.bin file, and verified the MD5. Unfortunately, I can't flash it via Odin. Any time I try, it says NAND write start fail. I have enabled developer options, and OEM unlocking. The download mode screen shows the following:
Product Name: SM-G920T
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
FRP Lock: Off
Secure Download: ENABLED
KNOX Warranty (I'm ****ed)
RP SWREV: B:3 K:2 S:2

I managed to brick and unbrick my phone. I tried to use CF-Auto Root with Odin, which attempted to put Android 5.0.2 on my phone which was already at 5.1.1. I managed to fix it, but that tripped knox. Last night I was messing around, and decided to try to put a new Kernel on the phone (S6_UniKernel_v8-0002-ODIN.tar). After flashing it, the phone showed the message SEAndroid not enforcing. I managed to reflash just the boot.img from a stock G920TUVU2COF6 tar file, now my IMEI and baseband both show as "unknown." My phone is unable to connect to the T-Mobile network.
I've tried a different SIM card, but without success. I finally obtained a copy of the sboot.bin engineering boot loader, but can't get it to flash (NAND Write start fail).
I just read somewhere that someone else had this problem after going to DOJ7, then flashing a COF6 modem. They had to reflash an entire DOJ7 version to fix it. I'm downloading the stock DOJ7 file from sammobile, but it's going to be another 2 hours or more until it's done.
In the meantime, is there anything else I can/should try to get my phone back on the T-MObile network/broadband? Is there a way to check/review what versions of the various files (boot.img, modem.img, recovery.img, etc) files I have flashed via Odin? I usually keep notes, but I was dumb this time, and was trying to do this while my 3 year old was running around behind me.
I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...firmware-g920tuvu3doi1-g920tuvu2doh6-t3213001
It had a new modem file for version DOH6. I flashed that, and my phone is back on the T-Mobile network.... Which is odd. My baseband version is G920TUVU3DOJ7, but my build version is still G920TUVU2COF6. Not sure why the discrepancy, but it seems to be working.
If your baseband is OJ7 it can't be downgraded. If you flash any other older stock baseband/modem you will get unknown imei unknown baseband. Happened to me despite being on eng boot loader. Was on DOH6 flashed OJ7 baseband. Tried to flash full DOH6 but kept getting unknown baseband. Flashed full OJ7 and fixed the problem.
Hello
Can you share sboot.bin file for G920T?
TIA
You can always try heimdall manually with the latest firmware (Samsung is really a PITA when downgrading) because as far as I recall, sometimes EFS gets upgraded (Not really sure, just guessing) and maybe that can be the prob
There is still no marshmallow eng bootloader? I really wanna root my s6 but don't want to trip Knox but in getting really close to doing it. All I need root for is for Viper4Android, I'm an audiophile... lol
Sent from my SM-G920T using Tapatalk
i missing sboot.bin missing bootloader smg920f my frimware G920FXXU2COH2 (
Question...Why were you trying to flash an engineering bootloader in the first place? We already have the ability to flash a custom recovery, thereby giving you pretty much unlimited freedom with your phone; of course, the drawback is that you trip Knox but since when is that really a deal breaker? I've exchanged TWO phones now that are Knox 0x1, no issues.

Galaxy Note5 Flash Modem.bin possible?

Hi, My phone has outdated Android 6.0.1 baseband.
I downloaded the new file "N920W8VLU4BPJ1_N920W8OYA4BPJ1_N920W8VLU4BPJ1_HOME .tar" and extracted out the modem.bin
But I am not sure if it is possible to simply drop this file on the phone and restore that file from TWRP (I think that is wrong)
or how to flash this file by itself inside of ODIN so I do not change everything else on my phone.
It was already running MM before I rooted & flashed TWRP & custom roms.
I'm getting terrible battery life and issues with WiFi shutting on and turning on when the screen comes back on (even though no software/settings are set for that)
I have some prior Samsung experience, but I'm not sure how to, or if its even possible to simply flash this updated modem.bin without doing the whole samsung firmware and then starting root/TWRP/custom rom again from scratch basically.
Thanks in advance!!
I'm reposting this from another thread in hopes to get quicker response.
I will edit both posts if a solution is provided to assist in others finding that info.

do so at your own risk. If you extracted the individual components of the firmware, you can use 7-zip to save as .tar file which is ODIN flashable. I do this to flash boot and sboot files in ODIN to enable ADB for FRP removals. Do so at your own risk however, I do not take responsibility for you messing up your phone if you don't know what you're doing.
Personally I think you'd be better off flashing stock firmware and going from there. Rooting and TWRP take literally seconds to accomplish. Plus this route is safer than what you're doing...
