I agree but I keep reading how it drove up the cost.

Yeah people are trying to sell phones at higher cost cuz its installed on them. Even tho I can still download it from google play and it auto restores with my apps when I flash new roms
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

I think it's mostly an iPhone thing, as getting an app onto one that isn't from the app store requires sorcery. As said anyone can get it on an Android device since the apk is floating around without any sort of hack or warranty violation so I see no reason it would drive up the cost there.

Yup, but the average Joe is pretty stupid when it comes to smartphones. In face, a vzw rep actually told me that rooting was a way to install apps out side of the play store. And she was paid to know this stuff lol

I wouldn't doubt it one bit. Walked into a verizon to check out a case one day. Lady was trying to help customer with something built into phone and I butted in to say what to do. sometimes regular normal people have to bring to them haha. I was still looked at all messed up, just mad I was right ?

The game was pulled from the Apple Store, and unless you're jailbroken, you couldn't get it anymore - so many people were trying to sell their iPhones with the app still installed, for retarded amounts of money. I was seeing them on eBay and craigslist for up to $2000 because of it...

My guess is it will come in ICS. At least I don't see why it shouldn't. I don't see the point of the NS 4G exclusive lasting much longer. At some point they are going to lose out on competition if they don't start getting this on NFC enabled phones.
I really hope it comes supported on all nexus s phones when ICS comes out for us so I don't have to flash a zip each time and can instead just get the updates from market

Well best of luck to you then. Not sure why your going to an iphone if you "need something to mod bigtime" though. Is there that much you can do to mod an iphone? Maybe I'm just uninformed. Also, sorry, I can hijacked your thread didn't I...
Sorry i wasnt very clear as i was driving lol. But the things that i like to do most with my phones im unable to do on this droid 4. One of my older phones was the htc hd2 and ran the core cell rom which was badass. Being that d4 will never see an unlocked bootloader means that modding will be minimum. I may be misunderstanding so please correct me if im wrong.

And hijacked? No not at all. Im trying to gather as much info as possible about what my future options may be with this phone if i were to keep it. I love everything about it. There isn't actually that much that can be done with an iphone. Basically you have custom themes, jailbroken apps and free apps(if you're into that kind of thing) not much else.
As a motorcyclist, seriously, don't do it. I don't care if you wind up with an iPhone or a Droid4, but I don't want to wind up on your hood.
Honestly speaking i dont text and drive. I do service work and will usually wait till my next stop to even read them much less type and drive. I was just being silly. And i too ride. So everyone plz chill.

Sent from my DROID4 using xda premium
The MicroSim on the Droid is a LTE SIMcard. The SIM Slot on the iphone is only for use abroad. The iphone does not have 4G LTE capabilities. You might want to consider a new support forum to get all your questions answered on your iphone. Android power users don't like to deal with dumbphones.

Headline is grossly misleading. It's not the 2M subscriber drop-off that caused the costs-- many of them were on the old iDEN network and essentially marginal anyway. It's the cost of safely shutting down and dismantling iDEN that was essentially one of many large, one-time costs Sprint is incurring as it modernizes its network.
I was under the impression that there will be loses every quarter until Network Vision is complete..

What choices do I have

Sprint has a policy of switching costumers to a different device after 3 exchanges. I'm waiting for my 3rd HTC one, all for the same reason with the SIM card error. I can't imagine that this replacement will be any different. With that being said what choices will I have for a new device

S4 pretty much. Maybe a Note II.
Quick question, are you taking the SIM card out at any time, or are you not touching it? Because I only ever had problems with mine after I removed it from my phone and put it back in.
I also have the sim card error but it comes and goes every once and a while. When ever I get it it usually goes away after 15-20 min. Even with all the issues the HTC One has I would never trade it in for any of the phones available atm.

Same. I haven't had the sim error, does it just deny LTE? If thats all it does I'd suffer for a bit (if you don't have a time restraint) and see what the Nexus5 announce says. The word is it has the CDMA bands for Sprint use and I've been itching to get my hands on a true nexus phone.

I've never touched it. My thought I'd that I shouldn't have to do quick temporary fixes on the phone. That and possibly giving Sprint a reason to deny liability.

Have you tried updating your Service profiles?
Just contact Sprint via chat, and ask them to re activate your device. They should ask you for your IMEI number.
Make sure they ask you for it. I had this happen to me after I got my phone's board replaced. The chat guy kept telling me to get a new SIM card, and I kept telling him it was pretty much the same phone, and exactly the same card. So yeah.

From what I remember when I worked there it had to be a manufacturer defect every time and the 3 swaps have to occur within a 6 month time frame. Not sure if yours fell into that. If they did then your store might be more screwy than others. Or you just weren't upset enough

Seriously? An S3? That doesn't make any sense to me. It should definitely be an S4. When we had the EVO and Epic come out a lot of EVOs had issues and several people were able to do the swap and we got them into Epics. A phone a year older with much lower specs shouldn't qualify as a comparable device.

My wife's phone had a big greasy finger print on contact side and recurring issues but after scotch taping on plastic side to keep it tight it's fixed. But I never had this issue on mine, I did however blow a speaker and swapped it a month ago.
I wouldn't take another phone over this still.

My crazy day getting a nexus 5!

OK I know that ALL the nexus 5 sold at T-Mobile, Sprint, best buy, etc are the SAME as Google play store.
I was in Houston to visit family yesterday, and sold my moto g, and moto x(att model) to my family friend and then figured "ya I could order the nexus on Google but since selling the moto's I would just be paying the tax for the 5!"
So I go to best buy, not in stock, then go to T-Mobile store....NEVER again!(only because their like 390 full price!)
First the guy said he couldn't sell me it cause it won't work on anything other than T-Mobile....... So I told him that I know it will work or I wouldn't be asking you to buy it.... Then the store demo I put my Sim in it and BAM! Getting LTE on straight talk att Sim! Then I show him and then he said the demo model works cause it one straight from the Google play store! LMAO WHAT!
So I leave go down the street to another T-Mobile store same story!
Then I finally went to a sprint store...
The guy was basically acting like I was stupid and he bet me it wouldn't work....so he sell me the phone (399) I put my Sim in the phone and by this time he called everybody else in the store to see if it was going to work! The of course it works, and he was like we'll it probably because it not activated on our network. Then he went on saying I couldn't sell that to anybody on sprint cause the phone will be blacklisted.......OR I said "it could be idk IT'S THE SAME PHONE THAT GOOGLE SELLS ON THE PLAY STORE!" and walk out
So I guess next time people just order from the play store unless your only going to pay tax for a brand new phone lol!

What? Out of all service companies, I can't believe T-Mobile would say that! That's crazy.
They probably don't want to sell their N5' s cause they know they're sold out on Google store and they want customers who buy the N5 to stay in their company. That's why whenever I go to my company (T-Mobile) I end up arguing with them, they seem to not have a lot of knowledge when it comes to Google phones.

Well the sprint store wasn't really busy at all. Had one customer leaving as I was walking in. But the T-Mobile store was actually quite busy which I was surprised bout. Tmobile works great in Houston and Dallas. But where I live their not even a store that's how bad it is!

I don't sound like them but maybe you do. I know what I am talking about. We all know it is the same phone, Sprint are the idiots that don't think so.

just because their employees arent to bright, it doesnt change the fact that its more than possible to have done. its easy to do, and many sprint employees have figured out how to do it right. if the employees working where you go cant do it, go to another sprint.

No thanks. Sprint's LTE network is an absolute mess in my area, good signals usually but the 1,500+ms pings and 0.05 megabit downloads are painful. I do the AIO thing.
At least T-mobile let you purchase it. When it first came to Sprint, they would only sell it on contract. (Corporate store around me)

Well then go to another store. I don't care for sprint as other solution work out better for me. But I know it will work and since you don't have sprint it shouldn't matter to you

If you think a Sprint store can enter a MEID into the system that was never there before then I believe you need to go buy a bunch of lottery tickets.
