Galaxy Gear compatibility comes to the Samsung Galaxy S 4, S3, Note 2 and more

If you wanted live out your Inspector Gadget fantasies, but lacked the Galaxy Note 3 needed to take full advantage of the possibilities, we've got good news. Samsung's bringing compatibility for its Galaxy Gear to the previously-mentioned Galaxy S 4 as well as the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II through an Android 4.3 update. While those are the big ones, the wearable will soon hook up to a whole swathe of Samsung devices (Galaxy S4 Mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and Galaxy S4 Zoom) in an update arriving at the end of October. Naturally, the typical proviso for different release dates in different countries remains, but those flagship devices mentioned earlier will get the earliest access -- and will also be able to make and answer calls with the Gear, like a real inspector.

Hopefully sooner than later I can use my GNII with the Gear.

This is great.. hopefully I can get it to work finally. So far installing the .apk on my mega hasn't been successful. Always stuck in syncing.

You can use your Galaxy Note 2 with your GEAR via Android 4.3 as the following link for downloading rom : https://www.4shared.com/zip/CJdXMW_o...100XXEM16.html

Then you can use Note2 with GEAR,,
*** Wanna know your Note2 code is : N7100 ?? If yes, GO FOR IT. If not ... you have to wait.

I have been trying to hard to find a rom of 4.3 to use on my sprint s4 but the only one i find is real buggy with sms....anyone else have a sprint version s4 and found a rom.....

So to clarify: which device will get an update for Gear to work on it? Does the Gear or whatever device (S3, S4, etc) need the update for gear to work with it? I don't see that specific piece of info.

It was already posted. And we already knew that 4.3 rom = gear support (however supposedly that wasn't official if this is the official confirmation?!?)

I updated my dad's gt-i9500 s4 to android 4.3(official,stock samsung) and found the Gear manager app in the settings>>applications manager>>all..
But did not have any Gear to test this though.

This isn't quite new, but regardless: It only works with the international version.
Also, your post just reeks of bot/scam/annoying-ads

Gear 2 with Note 2 compatibility

I have Note 2 running stock rom updated to Android 4.3.
Planning to get the Gear 2 / Neo . My decision to buy the same is basically because of the health options i.e. pedometer, heart rate monitor etc. which sync to S Health.
However, as note 2 does not have S-Health, will we get an upgrade from Samsung to use the watch to its fullest.

Install that guy and you're good to go. I would assume Samsung will eventually release the app officially for all supported devices, or maybe the Gear will have a download for it.. either way, you should be good.

On my US Verizon Note 2, I just received an over the air update providing an integration app. called: "Fitness with Gear", so looks like someone is listening...

I have a note 2 and just got my gear2 neo yesterday. It is working perfectly so far, just that there are no apps for it yet. Notifications is great but i have not tried the health app yet.

My experience with neo on stock rom is better than the 4.2.2. ROMS which are all based on google bluetooth drivers, which are not very good.
On stock you have way better bluetooth connection, no lag while playing music from neo etc.
As for the health options, they're not very good at the moment and I would not recommend you to buy neo if you want accurate health tracking.

Can somebody confirm if this works? I think you need one of the latest updates from Shealth to make it work with gear2.

I'm wondering about this too. I hope stock Android Galaxy Gear will work with old version of Galaxy Manager on Note 4... but I do not think so - Gear VR will require an update of the whole framework I guess..

Do not test other friends ?
It's just really important to me .
Can connect with Android 's firmware ?

Stock gear 1 (tizen) with stock note 4 works without problem as other devices, sometimes gear act weird and battery drain for it self and note 4 but that even happened with note 2.
And whats up with friend's friend !!!!!!

Hi all
I have the Note 2 working really well with the SM-V700 gear watch on tizen, the only prob so far I can't find a Lollipop version to work with these two devices, I am running the DN4 v2.1 on the note 2, you need a third party samsungs app installed to allow you to download the gear manager.
Hope this helps at least one person

I have a note 4 N910C and gear SM-700V both work great together and sync very well with gear manager
but now I was trying update to tizen and now my gear is bricked

Converting Samsung galaxy note 5 to note 7

Hello everyone
I read this post about the note 7 ROM here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...om-n930tuvu1apgc-6-0-1-deodexed-knox-t3461513) and I really like it. I have though a question.
Actual Status: My Samsung galaxy note 5 N920T is already rooted since yesterday with odin and I installed the grace ux of the note 7 but it seems to be the ROM of the beta version. I have some struggles here because the S Note App and the S Pen features are combined. I have the S Note App from note 5 and note 7 and the S Pen features are mixed from both devices as well. I also can't dial or receive calls.
Questions: 1.Is the ROM provided fully equipped functions well?
2. If I want to install it do I need to root my device again and do I need to uninstall the actual ROM?
I am looking forward your answers.

Samsung PhoneCast VR is HERE!

xda Samsung seems to listen to us and develope VR Apps that we want! Samsung is now presenting Samsung PhoneCast VR App! this allows us to use our beloved Video Apps like kodi on our Gear VR! Sounds pretty cool right? few months back people tried doing this but now we get a official solution
currently it's in beta and only supports the S8 and S8+. I hope in the future when it's out of the beta stage it will be available also for older devices. Can anyone test this app on their S8 / S8+? If I change the model to a SM-G955F on my Note 7 from a SM-G935F it's starts the app but I get a prompt to update my Firmware before I continue. Can someone disable those ckecks for device and firmware please?

Yep same here on my S8+.
I was wondering if it's region locked (I live in the UK), or it doesn't like Oreo.
Either way, it's pretty ridiculous.

Use hotspot shield set to US run occulus and run cast vr once then when working.
After that you won't need the vpn.
Got in WORKING on my s8 uk
