[Q] Stock-ish M8 rom ported to M7 ? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody,
Has any stock-ish version of the M8 rom ported to M7 been released ever?
Or maybe one with all the 'customizations' (de)selectable via the Aroma installer.
Thanks a lot.
Silver.

Yes, I've seen them. Unfortunately all of them include tweaks and adjustment that I would like to avoid until I realize that I really need any of them.

They nearly all also use Aroma installers and you can choose what you want and keep it as close to stock as you want.
Try InsertCoin 2.3.1 you'll like it

Haven't seen anyone include it in a ROM yet. But the flashables provided in this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224) thread, specifically this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856) post have worked excellent on my Vivid

Which ROM do you use? I've seen in some threads that Google Now results may vary depending on the ROM. Thanks for the quick reply.

only five replies and already my favourite thread of the week!
If i understand correctly, your question could be translated as "why does the Custom Rom 'Viper ROM' not have the Watch-App included"?
In most cases, it isn't considered as a very polite thing to do, but let me answer this question with another question anyways: why exactly aren't you asking this question in the right thread within the right sub-category?

It's not included because it is considered as bloatware. It can be downloaded separately. It was discontinued by HTC in many countries.
I hope you are not put off by the rude replies of other people, there are some nasty people on here.

I guess it is because he/she is like me who doesn't have at least 10 posts to be eligible to post in the development forum.

In all fairness, this would be a question which related directly to a specific ROM, you would be best asking in the relevant thread.

I've tried to install ViperRom few times, but it always freezes during Aroma. Only have had Clockwork recoveries (touch enabled), have you been able to install Viper using Clockwork's touch enabled recoveries?
Hello everybody,
I am a newbie in android. I want to change my Stock ROM to Viper ROM, but won't be able to do S-Off on my phone because phone's hboot ver already 1.54.
Can I install Viper ROM and use ElementX Kernel on Viper ROM while S-On? If it can, are there any missing features because of Security still On?
Thanks and regards,
Anto

TWRP works better with Viper, but people have flashed it with CWM. Go slowly thru Aroma, pausing between screens. It's and Aroma bug, not a Viper issue. Also clear Dalvik and cache before install.
You can install both ViperOne and ElementalX with S-on, need unlocked bootloader, custom recovery, and root. You will lose no features.
Hello everybody,
The main reason for me to move from stock ROM to Viper ROM are battery life and customization.
I have seen for customization in Viper ROM, it is great, but I don't know about battery life, especially while using internet via Wifi.
Could someone here give me an info about battery consume using Viper ROM for browsing(using JB's default browser), chatting, reading email, etc (not including downloading) so I can compare it with my current Stock ROM?
Currently, using Stock ROM (JB 4.2.2), my battery drain about 1% for about every 4-5 minutes.
Thanks and regards,
Anto

How to I obtain and flash font packages?

I see that some of the new ROMs are using different fonts. I like ARHD GE and want to continue using it, but I just want the new fonts...specifically that of 4.3. Can someone tell me how?

There is a mod available here with a selection of fonts and attached is a flashable zip of the new Roboto font from 4.3
Edit: Credit to whoever originally posted the Roboto font... I can't remember where I got it from but thanks anyway

Wind Mobile One Rom questions

I've been in the rom flashing world for a while now..but I just recently purchased the HTC ONE.
Going into uni and kinda dont have as much time to mess around as I did.
So can anyone give me a clear answer to as whether the WIND Mobile HTC ONE can flash the roms in the development section? Would I have to change radios or anything after ROM Flash to make my Wind 3G work?(Unlimited data...dont wanna waste that).
To be more specific..i'm just interested in the VIPER and the 4.3 AOSP roms.
Also, would I be able to flash kernels?
My biggest worry is whether I can flash these roms and kernels, and whether I would loose my phone's phone abilities afterwards.
Sorry for the dumb questions..hopefully someone can answer these. thks

I want to know this as well. I found a post but the answer wasn't that great. I used the t-mobile Roms on my Wind Note 2HTC one as used other gsm Roma on it as well. So I'm guessing it T-Mobile roms work on the htc as well. But that forum seems dead and there are not any forums dedicated to unbricking the Wind HTC one so that's why I'm just waiting for a confirm.
P.s do you know where to download the HTC One wind radio from?

I've tried Viper, Android Revolution (Sense / GPe), and CM 10.2 (AOSP 4.3). They all work on the Wind version of the HTC One (which is exactly the same version as the T-Mobile variant except with a different CID).

This forum. The generic HTC one forum. I think the following links will clear up some confusion on the various variants:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236
http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/2013/04/htc-one-variants-update.html
In case you're TL;DR you can flash any UL Rom (except Sprint).

[ROM]Cyanogenmod - big problems since the OTA's update of 10/10/14

Hello,
My HTC One M7 is under Cyanogenmod since few months and It has been working without major issues.
Since the update of 10/10/2014, I meet huge troubles with the Google Apps - none is working -
Needless to precise that the phone is rooted, S-Off, super CID...
I didn't install any new app before or after this update
Who has known something similar?
Any "patch"? Shall I go back to the latest working rev. of Cyanogen or is there another more smart solution?
Thanks.

If you want stability and a known working software stick with Stock HTC or GPE OS. Cyanogen is a constant work in progress and if you don't like testing and dealing with things being broken it's probably not the Rom for you.
