I had it for a couple days and I really enjoyed it. The only reason I returned it is because it attracts my German Sheppard's hair like crazy...lol but you might not have that problem. Also, it doesn't protect that much but it sure looks good.

Is there a setting that makes it turn on when you put it on
Sent from my 831C using xda app-developers app

It is not as tight or secure on my phone as I thought it would be. Dropped from a couple feet and the phone popped out of it. I have one of the older gray ones. Anyone else have the same or different experience?

The flap would not close all the way because I already had a tempered glass on the screen. It is extremely hard to use with one hand. I tried really hard to like it because I personally think it looks nice, but had to return it for those two reasons.

I just bought mine today. I thought it was broke at first because nothing happened when I put the phone into the case. I turned off my lock, checked to make sure the app was installed. Then I remembered I have a tempered screen protector on. When I took it off, the case works just fine. I think I'm going to take it back because it provides absolutely no protection at all. It only works with HTC apps: no gmail, fb, hangouts, 3rd party sms apps...nothing other than HTC's apps. It looks good and it's a neat trick but for $50 I saw all I needed to see here.

I do really like the principle of the Dot View Case, however its the effort of one handed operation that is hampering the thing... Its not as if i have small hands either - at 6'3" i have absolute shovel hands and still struggle.
Unsure...

Case sucks

There is a magnet on the left side just above the middle that invokes the dot view graphics. You can try it on your M8 with a small magnet.

I wasted 35 on this lol

Love this case! So unique. Well i am done, you guys can continue nagging now.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app

I really like the case and the idea of it, but it is slightly off for me. When it is closed, the case is a few mm to the left, so the dots aren't as sharp and more of a blur. If I push the flap to the right a little they line up perfectly. I don't have a screen protector. Does anyone else have this issue? Possibly a defect?
I don't mind holding the flap to use the phone as the phone is big enough that I pretty much need two hands to use it anyways. I will continue to use the case, but I may end up returning it before my 14 days are up if I don't fall in love with it. Right now the only thing really bother me is what I mentioned above with it being slightly off.

I have no interest on Dot case. And also don't have any one.

sending mine back. it's fun but not practical as it hinders one hand use impossible .

Fantastic contribution guys...!!!!! Really. Why did you bother wasting your energy posting?

Given the quality of the doubledip cases for M7, I wasn't expecting much in quality. I hope 3rd parties are allowed to do their own dot view. I've only seen S view type cases for the M8 right now.

Flip the cover around the back and one hand use is just fine- it may not wrap around the back perfectly due to the curve, but does not stick out enough to hinder one hand typing, browsing etc, unless you have smurf size hands....

Purchased the Dot View case from VZW originally, wasn't very happy with the Warm Gray color. Purchased the Warm Black Dot View case from the Shop Android part of the site and received it today, its the exact same color that VZW is advertising as warm gray, I was expecting a black case as depicted in the photos, the part numbers on the packaging are different, the VZW packaging has an HTC SKU 99H11530-00 and the Shop Android packaging has an HTC SKU 99H11416-00. I will edit this post with a photo in a little while but has anyone else found a similiar situation or has anyone received the shop android Warm Black case that can comment and/or share a photo to compare the Warm Black color? Thanks! VZW Warm Gray on the left and Shop Android Warm Black on the right...

Anyone interested in buying a case? I bought it earlier thinking I'd like it, but it just isn't for me. Instead of returning it to sprint, I'd rather sell it to someone who's had a hard time looking for one. PM me for details.

Leather pouch

Anyone have the leather HTC pouch Sprint sells on their website for $25? I typically do not use these but want one for specific situations like a vacation I have coming up. If you have it how do you like it and does the phone fit it well? Or, if someone knows of a better one for similar price or cheaper that would be great too. I am afraid of buying a universal because I want it to fit well and not flop around or be so tight I throw my phone across the room trying to get it out.
Thanks!

Yup, I just tested with the pouch. It actually makes it turn on but never off. It seems to trip the keyboard slide sensor. So it may not be too big of a deal as long as you have a decent screen timeout.
just speaking from experience, but that pouch is NOT motorcycle friendly lol. my Shift flew out of the pouch while i was riding one time, and had to get a new one. ever since then, i stopped using pouches.

You would think that they would manufacture something to prevent that from happening. Did it severely drain your battery?

yeah they've been in stock. they just update their website poorly, and they don't respond to any messages or emails you send. trust me, i know because i've done this. i ordered a white one (all you have to do is just order despite it not being in stock) and then they start working on it. mine came pretty quickly.
now the problem. upon opening, the white had smudges - indicating that it was not brand new. second, it doesn't fit that nicely, which shows that it is made of cheap TPU. i really had high expectations for it. the other two downsides are the screen and the power button. the screen is way too reflective making it impossible to see in lighted conditions when using navigation etc even with brightness on 100%. the other issue is the poor cut out- the power button is way too far from touching the actual power button so you literally have to push super hard with your nail for it to hit - this makes the casemate tough's power button super easy to touch in comparison. the volume keys however are easy to touch.
i hope you have better luck with yours. i was very disappointed in my case despite the nice youtube review online from oli. oh well - i have other nice cases

I've got it on my M*. Fits very well, adds just the right amount of grip to the back to prevent the phone from sliiping if you keep it in a shirt pocket. You do have to black out the inside of the flash cut out to prevent flash bleed into the cover but doesn't seem to interfere with flash pictures. Can't go wrong for the price.

I've purchased this as well as a few other slim soft-touch cases. I like the cut outs on this one (separation of camera/LEDs, indents for ports) but one thing I did notice about the unit I received that is keeping me from using it is that the cut outs are sloppy and rough. They've got jaggies. I was able to over look some of these but the one that keeps from putting this case back on is the bezel around the LCD. It also has jaggies and was uncomfortable to use.
Perhaps I just got a bum unit, but just thought I'd share my experience.

My case had a very similarly sharp feel. It was an easy fix to use 500 grit sand paper to smooth it over. That took 5 minutes. I'm not sure I would qualify the cutouts as "sloppy" though, as it implies that it doesn't "look" good. It does look good, just don't really touch it, until you've sanded it down.

Looks like the code has expired. Just tried to use it and it isn't taking it anymore says it expired on the 16th. Hate I missed out.
Bought some when they were 90%. Got a bad batch and contacted customer service. They immediately sent replacements. It's still curing but I'm liking the look thus far. I bought the full body protection. I like how the back has a better grip now.
If anyone has a new discount code for these, please pass it on. Would love to try them out. Thanks.
Just got mine today, shipped to Sweden in about a week.
Bought 1 regular and one "HD" (dry install). Payed all together $2 (!!!) with shipping to Sweden.
Just applied the dry HD one, looks all right, but doesn't reach all the way out to the edges, missing 1,5-2 mm.
Got 2-3 dust particles stuck when applying, and all of them creates a small air pocket around it, that I hope will go away.
Gonna let it stay on for a while, and see how it works out.

Got two dry-apply screens for 80 cents!
I just needed the thinnest scratch-resistant screens to protect the Gorilla Glass of the M8. I'm putting the rest of it in a heavy-duty 2-layer silicone and polycarbonate case anyhow.
Just got a full body kit and hd protector for 1.30 thanks! I thought I'd get away form the Invisible Shields, and these look promising
Do I miss discount? Anyway, can someone who uses protector for back side can share his/her thoughts? I don't like screen protectors but I consider to buy protector for back side.

I love the idea for HTC and I really love the case, however I found kind annoying these days, why? Because the front flip cover it's annoying,I need take off the case to put into my car (generic dock ) i can't take a photo (front or back with one hand,I used to use the phone with one hand and now it's almost impossible,i hate the “automatic close“behavior from the case but I hate more the annoying that could be it's me or everyone hate this?
I guess i need to move to another case, recommendations?

A) You need to remove any case to dock the device.
B) The case has a sole purpose to be useful closed.
C) After about a week you get used to how it works and manage to use your device as you normally would.
D) If it didn't snap closed, there would be a thread with someone complaining about how it's a POS case that won't snap closed, what a rip off.
E) It can be an annoying case sometimes, yes. The benefits outweigh the annoyances for me though.

I absolutely love my dot view case.
The cover keeps me from worrying about scratches and dirt on the screen, the quick time and notification view are both nice, but the real awesome feature is the swipe for voice command feature. I use it all the time to make calls.
The flap comes in handy when you're playing a game, as it sort of tilts the device toward you for better viewing angles.
True, you have to remove the case to take a good video or a very steady picture, but the case is super easy to get in and out of.
I really don't have any complaints about mine!

The barely there is nice. I'm using one. It probably won't help much if you dropped it but it will keep the sides and back scratch free.
I kind of risk assessed my probability of dropping. It's not something that's happened to me too often thankfully. I'm always conscious when handling it.
