Gear 2 Neo discoveries - Samsung Gear 2 Neo

Hello,
Having connected my PC to the G2N, I have made the following discoveries:
1. It is seemingly impossible to get root access. The "sdb root on" command comes back with Permission Denied. There is no "sudo" or "su" command anywhere on the internals. You are logged in as "developer" and I haven't worked out how to get out of there yet.
2. There is no Internet access on the device I can see. As far as I can tell, the only communication allowed is between the 'host' and the 'wearable'. Given root access I can probably work my way around this... but without it, I probably can't...
3. I have managed to install python to the device, but have not yet managed to write to screen yet.
Back to exploring...

root
You have to do that root acess

Please Help

Ok i have an g1 thats unregistered and i kow how to activate it through wifi but i cant because i dont have an router i was wonder if someone could explain to me how to bypass this without activating my g1 it said or how i send these commands with adb
Now, copy a busybox binary to /data/local/busybox with adb push, and then connect to your phone with adb shell, and give the busybox binary execute permissions (i.e. chmod 755 /data/local/busybox)
busybox has a telnet applet, so you can do:
busybox telnet 127.0.0.1
to get a telnet session with root access.
- If you don't want to register the phone at all, you can set the app.setupwizard.disable property to 0 to prevent registration. Once you have an adb shell session open, type the following:
setprop app.setupwizard.disable 1
and then reboot. once it loads back up, it should bypass the registration screen all-together
but i am so confused thanks for the help
Do you have root? Most custom ROMs give you an option to skip.
i was in the process of rooting my g1 when i had downgraded it but i couldnt finish it because i had to activate it when i got it it was already activated

It's been so long since I rooted that I can't remember if there are any other options. I think when first I got mine, there was no way to root with wifi. I couldn't even register while roaming, and had to drive 40 miles (nearest T-Mo tower) just to use my G1 for the first time. That sucked!
is there a way to bypass it without using wifi or can i install a new rom or something
If you are rooted, then try a new rom. Most of them will have the option to skip.
how i know if im rooted

Need Root help

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm running OSX Snow Leopard, using terminal and attempting to gain root access to my new Nexus One. I was able to quickly and easily unlock the boot loader, however, I have made multiple attempts to gain root access for model ERE27 using superboot, but while everything seems to appear normal, I can not flash the recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1-cyan.img. When I reboot the phone I attempt to run terminal app from market and find I am still denied permission. I've checked every site I could to correct this, but seem to be missing something every time. When attempting to root, I cd to applications/android-sdk-mac_86/tools/superboot. I press enter then chmod +x-install-superboot-mac.sh Then I press enter and key ./fastboot-mac. After processing in terminal and seeing a status bar briefly on the nexus upper right screen of the Nexus, terminal says Okay. I reboot and no root access. PLEASE HELP. Been at this for an embarrassingly long time now...
Have you installed a rooted rom? or just trying to see if you have root access on the stock rom?

[Q] Sideload without root or swc

Hey guys,
I had a few questions about sideloading off market apps, that i couldn't find answers to. Thanks for your consideration.
If i understand correctly, you can only sideload apps on my unrooted samsung captivate by using a connection to a computer, right?
I know about the sideload wonder machine and i have used it successfully.
I know i could download the android sdk, and use the adb push command.
Is there a way to edit the no_market_app value in the settings db file only using my un-rooted phone?
Or can i use terminal emulator or a combination of both to somehow install an off market app?
I was just trying to think of ways to avoid having to conncect to a computer to install an app. I was on the road with a friend, and i had an off market app i wanted to give him, but he also has att(which blocks sideloading of off market apps), so i didn't even try. But wouldn't it be awesome if i could send the apps to his phone through bluetooth or email, then install it on his phone without rooting his phone? Maybe a temporary root of some sort would work? Isn't that how swc works?
Anyways, once i've played enough with my stock phone, i'll beg for more and i'll eventually root, and i'll probably end up playing with the sdk too. Thanks again guys!
To Root or Not To Root... or Perhaps Just A Temp Root...
There are a few quick fix temp root apps floating around. It really depends on you model and build if they work correctly or not.
You could, as you mentioned, push from a cmd promt in adb, install from the cmd promt in adb to the device - or - pull from the device itself using a shell or terminal.
Unfortunately, I currently don't know of a direct way that you would be able to access, let alone edit the system.db file to make a permanent modification without at least being under a temp root.
Peace-

Droid root issues: update.zip successful but no root

I've been trying to figure this out all day and I'm stumped.
My stock Droid recently failed to get past the bootloader.
I'm following the directions from the CM Wiki titled "Motorola Droid: Full Update Guide" (no direct link because of my new account, sorry) and others I've found and they all seem to be exactly the same.
I've got SPRecovery installed no problem and after I run the update.zip I get a successful install message, including "enjoy your root".
The problem is in the next step where I ADB it doesn't appear I actually have root access.
I think this may be because I'm connecting to my phone from the SPRecovery menu, but I'm not sure.
This is what my cmd screen looks like when I try to follow the steps under "Installing ClockworkMod Recovery" > "Second Method (manual method)".
Code:
C:\Users\XXXX>adb shell
/ # su
su
/system/bin/sh: su: not found
I noticed that in SPRecovery there are "mount options", so I tried mounting /system and trying again and I get basically the same thing, but without the "/" and without the directory
Code:
C:\Users\XXXX>adb shell
# su
su
su: not found
I'm not Linux savvy enough to know the difference unfortunately. I've tried 3 different update.zip from 3 different sources, but all appear to be the exact same thing.
Typing "busybox" in the ADB shell kicks back all the functions so it appears to be installed.
"adb devices" kicks back "040388990E0EDITED recovery"
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, it's getting very frustrating.
Do you have the opportunity to root your phone from the Recovery-Menu?
I have OpenRecovery (OR) and when I boot in OR i can manually chose to root my phone.

You can also simply download the SuperUser App from the market. This roots your phone.

I'm about 99% certain that is false. If it was that easy, I would have heard about it. Plus the only SU app on the market states " Grant and manage Superuser rights for your phone. This app requires that you already have root.."

Power ON when charger connected

Hi I'm new
Now I've read into this.. but still can't seem to solve it myself.
The particular device is rooted running MIUI Global 9.6.7.0
I have tried finding the lpm or playlpm file in the system/bin folder, but I guess it's not a thing on this device.
I have tried the fastboot oem-off-mode charge 0 commands but that results in /system/bin/sh: fastboot: not found.
I can't seem to find other ways to achieve this stupid simple task!
I think I'm trying to get a reboot command to run when the charge screen is activated.. However I'm lost.. pls help :")
How did you root it??

Not sure what the method is called but Magisk manager now controls things like Macro droid, root browser, terminal...
Root checker says root access is properly installed on this device.
Is that what you need to know?
To for it reply btw still haven't figured it out
