[Q] aroma installer touch issue twrp Sprint htc one M8 - Sprint HTC One (M8)

I'm having trouble when I attempt to flash anything that has an aroma installer. At first I thought it was just the twrp version that I was using (so far I tried 2.7.0.0 - 2.7.0.2 - 2.7.0.7) I can't seem to get any of them to function via touch screen, only volume/power buttons.
Has anyone else had this problem?

AROMA needs to be updated to support our device's touch driver. This is no fault of the recovery.

Okay, thanks. Good to know that's the culprit.
Also, big thanks for 2.7.0.7 I like the curtain that's on there & the other features. Neat look.

Was wondering about that... I tried to use ROM Cleaner and no luck on screen responding to touch.

Did anyone know if there is a workaround to using aroma installer on Sprint? I'm having the same issue.

use the volume keys and power button

Use 2 fingers..
1st touch what you want to select and hold it, then touch as close as possible with another finger.
Still a pain, but less of one then mashing the volume button a million times ?

Trying, i made a build and it works as a normal recovery but when you touch the screen all it does is move the selection down like hitting vol down side key. Link to this build for lulz?
I see on http://d-h.st/users/Doadin have v2 and touch i think it work too .
Touch still isnt working... touching the screen just makes it scroll down. Great work though!

Just my little 2 cents here but having the touch screen option isn't that big of a deal to me. I just care that it works as I've been used to CWM the way it is for quite awhile. Don't get me wrong, if you get it to work that's great. If not, oh well. I've flashed this new version but haven't used it as of yet.
At any rate I appreciate that you updated it to the latest version!

If anyone absolutely needs touch, they should be using TWRP.

Well i think i might have found why its not working. Not 100% sure but im gonna see if i can merge in the code and make a build probably later tonight. I think it i may have found it though. pretty simple fix. We'll see. Ive been trying to work in the other features Jocala made too like romwipe.(Not needed but makes flashing a few less clicks so thats nice lol) Im gonna try and add those in along with a touch build later.
I made a nw version with the stack zips option, not sure if i added it right but it appears to go through the process just i dont actually wana do any flashing right now. The flash image i added but its not working. It doesnt appear to work even just manually flashing using the dd command(which is the methode used in jocalas cwm). So im not sure im even gonna try and add this.
OK so just flash this over the cwm recovery I'm running to update it right. I've got 6012 jocalas last release

Great work. Posted link earlier on the other thread, didn't want to start another. Nice to have the actual dev do so.
Thanks!
This is awesome, Thanks!
Anybody flash this and care to report what works and what doesn't. I just now saw this and I'll be flashing when I get home from work in a little while. I'm gonna assume that this works pretty good because there isn't a metric ton of posts about things not working.
The only problem I've noticed is that the CM updater doesn't seem to be passing the path to the update zip properly. I didn't have that problem with cwm recovery. However, I have a strange "/0/" in my internal storage path. Therefore, I can't blame either.
Backups, restores, and flashing seems to be working great! Love the customizable interface.

because stock cwm uses non sense /sdcard/0 in its sources
If you like to use the updater from cm, just set recovery to /data/media
Else, avoid cm updater
I am not going to restore non sense /sdcard/0 things in my sources
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was wondering what caused that. I've just been flashing the update zips manually.
Thanks for the awesome recovery!

Sideload is working and everything else, but the console log is not shown correctly while flashing. After it ends goes back to normal.

I was turning crazy to reproduce it until I saw you were using sideload
Please, can you confirm that the display bug happens only in sideload mode?
If you flash normally in recovery, the text fits right?

That's right, only happens when sideloading. Choosing a ZIP from the internal memory or SDCard for flashing shows a correct command line output.

If you'd look in the threads of these Roms you'd know the answer simple answer.... Aroma needs to be updated! You have to use volume buttons and power button it's a pain to navigate but it can be done... Method is vol down bunch of times plus vol up once then power button to select next. Play with it a little I'm sure you'll figure it out!

True.
Or just install Xposed framework and you can add the item inside the menu using Gravitybox or Advanced Power Menu.

thanks so much , your advice seems exactly what i want
i`m not fear of installing and testing but Xposed framework and Advanced Power Menu both write warning about boot loop or soft-break after install
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2404042
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/framework-xposed-rom-modding-modifying-t1574401
and the Sony V is not on the Confirm Device list , so do you think it cost to install them ?
of cource i must decided at end but i want to know the % of risk for adding only one item to power menu ( take screenshot !)

I'm sure that Xposed works on V without any issue (in mods section there are people with V that use it).
Actually I don't know in specific if APM could give problem, but I can only say that on my T it works as a charm....
The good thing of Xposed framework is that it doesn't change and doesn't touch the system in any way, because it works on it: if something doesn't work properly and you get bootloop, you can just go into recovery and disinstall the framework using the zip generated automatically in your internal memory when you install Xposed for the first time.

I have yet to see a phone on which Xposed doesn't work or has bricked the device. If all you want is that feature, install Advanced Power Menu, no need to use GravityBox which does way more than what you want.

Totally agree.
APM is specific for power menu.
Gravitybox is a huge tool to change almost everything, I love it... but if you want only to change the power menu, APM is enough
It did blow my 4.3 when it just came out, but I am sure this is fixed and 4.3 fully adopted.
I admitt it is extremely convenient with Xposed, and having with Gravitybox is so attractive for being offered so much choices right on the plate. Albeit I think it slows the system. And a major issue for me, it does not work on odexed ROMs.
I pity the culture of installing real apk's has somewhat diminished through using these modules.

Interesting, do you know of any real standalone APKs that offer functions that could replace what's done with Xposed? I'm asking because, why use Xposed when there might be real APKs that do the trick, say hooking into calls made be SystemUI to change things on the fly...
just wana say thanks and Declaration that they work perfect on Sony V Rom 4.3 build .210 rooted
thanks for all :good:

Did you flash a CDMA ROM? Black screens usually occur due to 2 things:
1) You flashed a GSM ROM
2) Your SuperSU is messed up.
