[Q] VS980 + de-odexed + 4.4.2 = No Animated Weather? - Verizon LG G2

I went ahead and updated to the Malladus 2.0.2 ROM (as well as LG Apps and gapps ROMs). Love the phone more now but noticed that the Animated Weather on the lockscreen isn't working. I assume that's the de-odexed working as it should but the geek in me really liked that feature.
Anyone know how to get that back or know of a lock screen app that does something similar?
Many thanks,
Jeff

I noticed the same thing, I think they just stripped out whatever .apk/files are needed for it to work.

Malladus 2.0.2 is not a deodexed Rom. If you look in app, framework, and priv-app folders, you will see that all the apks that are normally odexed are still odexed.

Thanks guys - I will look further into why after updating this ROM the animated weather seems to have stopped working.

I would all the dev if he removed it to save space..

Stock Android unlockscreen

Is it possible, after rooting, to get the stock Android unlockscreen?
not development moved to general
Just install "Widgetlocker" from market
You can customize it to look exact like stock lockscreen or with moer features
I use "Goto lockscreen" though

Is there any lag using widgetlocker? been tempted before but thought it might create some lag.
Fairly sure soon there will be a .zip file that will be available for the stock lockscreen or when we get an AOSP ROM the stock lockscreen will be included.

Haven't experienced any lag with DHD using widgetlocker...
but the alternative, would be to remove the LG lockscreen on a rooted phone and push stock lockscreen instead... should be possible already now, but haven't tried it... Guess I'll just wait a few days for custom ROM instead
Widgetlocker or GOTO lockscreen is the easiest alternative right now

Ported Samsung Touchwiz ClockPackage.apk v2.4 working on ICS and JB

TouchWiz Stock Clock app
***New Update 22th September 2012***
This is a ported touchwiz clock from the Samsung stock roms. It is tested and working on ICS roms and most Jelly Bean roms. This app has been tested in 240dpi (as it is designed for) and 210dpi, tested in English and French. Any graphical problems you might experience are a direct result to changing the dpi, I will not be accepting requests to change the visual layout of the app because as it is it is completely stock and working perfectly for 240dpi (the intended dpi for this phone)
This app is fully functional except for;
1. the map for the world clock (the world clock is working thought)
2. the popup notification notification that tells you your alarm will go off in X hours and X minutes
3. the color of what you have selected in the snooze options (you will be able to see what is selected in the main alarm screen
apart from these minor details everything else is working. Please do not post to tell me about these things, I already know.
I have added languages from all app versions that I could get my hands on. All the usual languages are included, I have recently included Hebrew and Arabic? as requested. If your language is not supported please tell me, and if possible send me a clockpackage.apk from a stock rom with your language (one that you are sure your language is included in)
This clock app is SGS3 themed where possible. See screenshots below.
I have also included a v2.4 +extras zip, this includes the Samsung digital clock widget (SGS3 themed), the Samsung Accuweather widget with transparent background, the Samsung memo app, and ThinkFree Office app.
If you dont want these extras please use the other zip - v2.4
If I have helped you at all, please hit the thanks button
or feel free to buy me a beer / donate
Please test it before you use it!
I will not be held responsible for people who wake up late and lose their job, or miss a flight, etc.
I wont be held responsible for people bricking their phones by doing dumb stuff, just follow the instructions.
Instructions
Copy to zip file to phone SDcard, reboot into CWM and flash, reboot, enjoy
If you are using a previous version of this clock apk please --> backup and delete the old file (HybridTWClock******.apk) from your /system/app folder and then install the new zip in CWM
If you are using CM9 or CM10 or a rom that already has a clock app (deskclock.apk), please note that you do not need to delete the existing clock app for this one to work, - but if you do delete the existing deskclock.apk this one will still work as a stand alone clock

Ok, so you mean it didn't work then?
What about if you push the files across manually? (with root explorer or super manager or something)

Cool,
no there's no widget with this app, its just the stock clock from i9000, you might be able to try the 'digitalclock.apk' widget which comes with stock sgs2
http://www.mediafire.com/?b41y76589gw8zv6
I'm not sure if it will work though, I think it needs to be ported too..
I don't use that though, I prefer beautiful widget's superclock, it's the same but with the weather in the same space (same size widget)
Oww...and it looks like crap in landscape. ... but its nice that it has the timer. I use it sometimes in the kitchen. Hehe. You guys know other ported cool apps ?

These are all touchwiz apps ported for cm7/9. If you want any of them, you can either ask me to put them in flashable zips, or...
do it yourself by placing that apk in my flashable zip in the OP
Hey, sorry I haven't been back to this post for a while...
I've updated the OP with a new version which fixed the graphical problems of the previous versions, I've also added languages and other things. I have also included a ported version of the Samsung Galaxy 'My Files' app, this will let you choose your own mp3 or other sounds files for alarm tones.
Can someone please test it for me? as I don't have a Nexus S..
Thanks

for the extras pack, you will need to make sure that you have enough space on the phone too, I am using cm10 and I had to delete some stuff to make space, I deleted the trebuchet launcher and the latinIME keyboard, as I use apex launcher and swype keyboard which take up much less space, that way I was able to free up some more space

Can you see them in the /system/app folder?
Are they the right size files? I mean the same size files as you see in the zip?
If that is the case maybe they aren't working on the Nexus S, I can't see why not though, it is basically the same phone as the i9000 and the touchwiz dependencies are removed too

Yes, it should work on any phone.
If the CWM zip file doesn't work for you you can install the files manually to where they need to be in the /system/app and /system/media folders and then fix permissions and reboot.
However the screen layout is setup for 240dpi phones, I am running it on my i9000 under 210dpi and it works fine too. Let me know how it goes?
OK I'm using the sensation as you can see I'll let you know

[Question] AOSP Lockscreen fully working on ARHD 51

Hey guys..
So I've installed newest ARHD rom today with BulletProof kernel and its simply awsome! Didn't know what I was missing till now
Only one thing bothers me.. I hate sense's Lock screen! its ugly and very laggy most of the time.. I've read couple of threads some saying that if I delete the htclockscreen.apk it will sort of work (no widgets and needs to unlock to see who's calling) and I've seen some say to use GravityBox but it doesn't support 4.4.2..
Any Idea how to get it fully working on 4.4.2?
Thanks
There's a KK version of GravityBox as well as the JB one.

Any way to bypass lock when incoming call?

Lockscreen Widgets?

Will we be able to get lock screen widgets with any of the ROMs? Or since the ROMs have to be based on TouchWiz, does that mean we're stuck with basically just themed roms? None of the ones out yet seem interesting, they all just look stock. I'm looking for a rom with custom battery icons, new features, lockscreen widgets, etc. Really missing my Samsung Galaxy S3 with the lack of customization available for the S5.

Check out ninjamorph(in the playstore). I just found it a few days ago u can theme the heck out of your phone with it. Once you get the hang of it it's a breeze. However you do have to have your own icons to swap out or just edit the ones that are there. Here's my power menu themed with ninjamorph

Very much appreciate that you took the time to do this - I'm assuming I need the ROM as well, correct? Or will this work with the stock ROM just by following your steps?

This "Should" work with stock as well as any custom ROM, (I say should because as a mod it is independant of any other requirements) but make sure you flash through SafeStrap recovery make a backup first just to be safe.

Gave it a try but no bueno with the stock ROM. After flashing the zip and rebooting, I lost the lockscreen and hardware menu and home buttons entirely, only the back button was working. Restoring my backup now -- tonight I'll try flashing your ROM and then install the lockscreen widgets.
Wanted to update this thread in case anyone else wanted Lockscreen Widgets back - I installed SafeStrap and the KoolKit ROM then flashed the zip file and I have LockScreen widgets again. Huge thank you to @cstayton for coming up with a solution so quickly!
You can also use Xposed instead of flashing SafeStrap to get Lockscreen Widgets...

xPosed has lots of modules for all sorts of different things HOWEVER, xPosed also causes some very abhorent behavior in custom roms and can cause bad behavior even in stock rooted devices most devs shy away from xPosed in favor of hard coded mods. if the module works fine for then great but if you have issues like private mode not working serious lag on your device or other problems try using the hard coded mods with a custom rom

Pixel C Launcher + Wallpaper Picker

Hey All
Wondering if anyone has had any luck with Wallpaper picker from the new Pixel Launcher ZIP located here:
http://llabtoofer.com/2016/09/12/pixel-launcher/
I've installed it on my 6P along with the picker but the picker just crashes whenever i try and change my wallpaper.
Cheers
I'm using the launcher and the picker and have no crashes.
I'm not using from the zip file I have the apks
how do we change the color of the app drawer??

Cheers but if it came to that I'd just leave it. Spent all day setting this thing up haha. Was hoping there was something simple I was missing...shouldn't need a factory reset anyway as the phone is brand new and I only got it this morning
I want to like the pixel launcher but you can't make folders in the app drawer and you can't hide apps either. I'm not rooted and I don't want to root so until Google think to implement these features I'll be giving the pixel launcher a miss...

Put launcher in /system/priv-app/NexusLauncherPrebuilt/NexusLauncherPrebuilt.apk, picker to /system/app/WallpaperPickerGooglePrebuilt/WallpaperPickerGooglePrebuilt.apk, set the correct permissions to folder and apk and restart.
