It not changes the bands itself... But it changes the reception of the bands... It sometimes gets better with another radio.

Some advice for people with the ASIAN version of the HTC One M8 (aka 2.5 Ghz Krait phones).
I have tested the following radio's and they do not work: ATT, T-mobile, WWE, GPE. I have not tested the dev. edition radio yet. My phone has S-off and Super CID.
When you flash any of the above radios your phone will boot fine but it wont connect to a tower. After five minutes of trying to connect, the phone automatically reboots. To restore your phone you have to reflash the Taiwan radio (HTC__621 / 1.54.709.4).
If anyone with an Asian edition phone wants to double check my experiment, feel free to. The risk of damage to your phone is nil.

I flashed the AT&T radio on my T-Mobile M8 and got excellent results. On the T-Mobile Radio I was getting very spotty lte at my house, but since flashing the AT&T radio I have not experienced that spotty signal and data speed.

[Q] Need Bell HTC One Stock Radio.

hi.
I was using HTC One with Android Revolution and I would like to go back to stock.
unfortunately I have lost my nandroid and radio back ups (updated radio to latest one)
I was able to get nandroid backup from xda (thank you)
and restore it. however when I try to OTA update or factory reset it says security warning in bootloader
researching through google I realized that updated radio prevents me from doing OTA update and factory reset.
Is it possible to get a radio back up for bell or does anyone know how to make it work?
Thank you!

I am in a similar situation... I found the stock OTAs, which apparently have the stock radios. The only difference is that I don't want to go back to stock everything, just stock radio. Maybe we can help each other out?
h t t p : / / bugsylawson.com/files/category/216-otas/ <-- remove spaces, I am not allowed to post URLs...
I assume OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_BM_1.29.666.17_R-1.29.666.5_release_318664_signeddb6wjtuapczkgotc.zip the BM stands for Bell Mobility (assuming you are in Canada also).
Do you (or anyone reading) have an way to just extract the radio firmware and keep the root/ROM portion of my phone alive?
Reason is, the radios in Android Revolution HD for Canada I think are the Rogers ones, and I lost my HSPA+. Meaning I go between 3G and LTE (which is not too often).
Thanks in advance!
Did you guys ever find a Bell Radio File?
I am also looking for a Bell Mobility Radio.

Thanks! Curious if you are using the radio with the stock BM firmware or with a newer version firmware. Also how can I backup my radio using CWM so I can restore it if the provided radio doesnt work out for me.

I'm not using that radio anymore. That radio was taken from my One the day I got it a month ago. I have since done the full GPE conversion and am using the radio that it comes with.
You can't backup your radio directly using CWM. You have to use dd and manually dump the radio partition to a file.

All M7_UL (except some asian CIDs) are now using the same radio version on lollipop: 4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L including Bell Mobility
which you can confirm when looking at the Bell Mobility RUU name: PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_BM_7.17.666.7_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_420193_signed.zip
and can be found here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934533840
Or can be extracted from any M7_UL 7.xx.xxx.x firmware. :good:

I already tried that one, and my ex-Verizon phone (S-off, MID & CID adjusted, appropriate LTE bands enabled, build.prop changed to Bell/302610) still would not connect with a Bell SIM. I am now contemplating finding an older hboot/radio and trying to revert to 4..2-4.3. Do you have an opinion on this idea?

The new Radio 1.00.20.1108 seems to work much better than previous version on my phone. Many thanks to you OMJ!
The full firmware for s-off users which doesnt include hboot, recovery etc is not working. just says so mirrors.
Is it just me or do the radio and link without Hboot etc, not go to anything. Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks so much for the effort. I have a question, which relates to ROM flashes in general, and this one in particular:
I notice a couple things maybe you could help me with. First, the radio.img is copied directly to tmp, and thereafter the updater-script calls 'dd' to move it into place. Is it normal to trust the copy and not run a MD5 check on it before running dd?
Also, I notice we use /tmp -- I use PhilZ, which should be the same as TWRP or any solid recovery, but what I'm interested in is how we know there was enough room in /tmp to even copy the thing (absent a MD5 check or at least a test first).
Please understand -- I'm not at all picking on your very helpful work -- just wondering.
Thanks.
I think the modified firmware is for 3.04 and not 3.05 (although the zip has been renamed to 3.05). Can anyone confirm?
Edit: maybe it's my phone. I'm pretty sure I have S-OFF (via Rumrunner; I had to do it again recently since I sent my phone to HTC for warranty repairs). When I flash the radio only zip, I still show Baseband 1.00.20.0913_3 and not the latest version.

[Q] I need help!!!!

I am wanting to download the Google edition of the 4.4.2 kit Kat update for the Sprint HTC One but am having no luck, can someone help me? I need a sense Rom and I don't like the new update Sprint provides. I'm currently on viperrom 3.5.0 because they don't have the newer versions for Sprint. Everything I look for good Roms they say I need TWRP 2.6.3.3 but the Sprint version is only 2.6.3.0. I'm just sad about this I really want the Google edition.
Use the latest version of TWRP,CWM, or PhilzTouch and you should be ok

I don't think that you can run Google edition. That is a GSM version and not CDMA. I would wait to see if someone can confirm that before you hose your phone. Know that they have unbrick directions for those that flash the GSM version on Sprint (which is CDMA).
I actually set my phone to gsm because I have a bad esn and i SIM unlocked my phone, the HTC one is everything compatible

Thanks @tws101 for this
To Remove the Update Notification on the Modified Firmware if you are receiving them, you will need to update your \system\build.prop
1. Use an android file browser (with root access) and browse to \system\
2. Copy the build.prop file to your sd-card
3. Extract to your PC
4. Open with an editor like Notepad+
5. Find and replace "4.06.651.4" with "4.06.651.9"
6. On your phone rename the original file to build.prop.bak
7. Import the new file to your phone \system\
8. Correct file permissions rw-r-r
9. Reboot the phone
Now you will no longer receive update notifications. This step is only necessary if you used the modified firmware to update a stock rooted 4.06.651.4

There is not much in there, I flashed the modified firmware and the command line was only 5-6 lines long.

LOL -- there really *isn't* much in there -- it's just a few parts of a full set.
If folks want 'it all' as it were, flash 4.06.651.4_modified_firmware_RUU.zip first, then modified_firmware_4.06.651.9.zip -- that should do it.
(teaser -- just for fun -- *really* edged-out version of TWRP coming soon, just a teeny selinux thing to work out first -- lol).
How can I flash this with twrp recovery. My pc broke I need to be able to update with just my phone. Thanks in advance.

You have more than just rcdata in the zip... It should attempt to write all the images stored in the zip, not just 1... In the about section it still says it is .4 not .9 like it should.

In the About section it's based on the rom you are running if it's a .4 rom it will say .4 if any of the devs decide to update to .9 it will say .9
i did a getvar after flashing modified firmware and it is .9 for sure

I can not find a nandroid but here is a Guru Reset 4.19.401.11 and the corresponding stock firmware. This version is the update to your version.
If you are getting an error in fastboot.exe have you considered upgrading to the latest fastboot?
the problem is not the fastboot of phone but the file fastboot.exe of my pc (Win7), which fastboot do you mean? I think I have a recent version of this file.
Tomorrow I'll try with guru file but I don't know what is it so there are differents part respect flashing a normal rom (I hope you understand) ?? Thanks man

Here are the instructions for the Guru Reset, it is flashed in custom recovery just like a custom rom.
Use this Minimal ADB & fastboot Tool to update your fastboot.exe on your PC.
Thanks i'll report if this will work or not!
