Trident Aegis case - LG G Flex

I wanted something different from an Otterbox. It's a great case, you might not like the color, but it's available in a lot of varieties. It has dust filters over the speaker (a must for my job) and I got it from Amazon.

I've had that case on a few of my phones; Trident cases are top notch, and although they are somewhat bulky, they definitely protect your phone really well..

Yep, they're as bulky as an Otterbox. I get a small piece of mind knowing that I could throw my phone across the street if I wanted to and not get a scratch. :good:

that bottom picture you posted looks really cool; the red and black of your case matches nicely with the WallPaper on the phone:good:

I've always just used the standard black otter box defender on every phone since my Dell streak, but that is a HANDSOME case! would you guys say it's equally as protective? screen guard?

It doesnt have a built in screen guard, but they might include one when you buy the case..
Its not as gigantic as the Otterbox, but it protects in a similar way..

The Trident case comes with a screen protector. If you're going to buy an Otterbox, I would get the Commuter. The Defender scratches the hell out of the sides of your phone, because your phone is rubbing up against hard plastic the whole time. With the Commuter, it's the rubber part that goes around your phone, then the hard plastic shell goes around that.
The last Defender I bought absolutely ruined the looks of my old phone.

I've been running Trident for about 4 years now and always will look to them first.

I just got mine last Friday , and while this case is top notch it will probably go back to Amazon. One because of its size( it is bulky) and two the plugs for headphone and charging constantly pop open.

Nice looking case! Trident def makes 'em good, but why don't they make a belt clip holster? That I can see, Seidio isn't making an active case/holster combo for the flex, and Otterbox only has a holster if you go with the defender. So that leaves Ballistic. I have an otterbox commuter case, does anyone know of a belt clip holster that'll fit the commuter? When I had my Note II I got an aftermarket holster that fit my commuter case (that was given to me), but it seems this flex isn't popular enough to warrant the companies going all out for it. Unless I can find a holster for my OB communter case, I'll just buy a ballistic case/holster combo off ebay... amazon doesn't do well with shipping to Puerto Rico!

Seidio Innocase

Hey i was just wondering if anyone has purchased the Innocase Active model? If so how do you like it, and if not if you have purchased a case from Seidio before whats your opinion on the quality of the product? Bought a case from Verizon and just didnt like how it felt so cheap.
Thanks
Holy crap, I was just about to post pictures anyway and this saves the forum from a new thread. I just got mine in the mail about 15 minutes ago, and here are some pics. I like the feel of the back better than the gradient case from Verizon, but I don't think the front will be everyone's cup of tea. It's basically a gel cover that is covered on the back and corners by a hard casing. I like the look, but my only gripe is that the soft cover completely covers the power and volume buttons and really changes the feel of using any of these buttons. I'll get used to it though.

The active case is awesome! I threw my standard innocase away after it scratched the sides of my phone. The silicone inner case on the active should prevent any scratching and it feels very solid.

Yeah, I like the feel of the case, it feels solid without being overly bulky. I've been pretty happy with the purchase!
Picked up a burgundy version of the Active case which arrived today.
VERY easy to install and take back off if you need access to the battery. Nice cushioney feel to it. I'm sure this will give the unit some bounce off the concrete floor that I've been dreading. Slides in and out of the pocket without sticking.
Good deal.
Got burgundy instead of black because I wanted it to have some color. The burgundy is very dark so it is a nice look.
BTW.. I use a Zagg screen protector which I've had on the device when I got it as well.
Added some pic's
very solid case!
Is this case easy to remove?
Actually yes. The hard shell pry's off fairly easy and the under silicon cover is easy to remove.

That sounds pretty good. I've been looking for a case that I could take off basically anytime I feel like it. Would I risk damaging the case (or warping it in some way) if I was taking it off all the time?
Any chance this case would work with a big battery if you left the rear panel off and just put the case on?
Wouldn't make sense to pay $30 for a case with the hard shell and not use it.
Cheaper to just get a silicon case and use that.
The seidio innocase 2 scratched the Hell out of my incredibles bezel.... I'm using the Verizon silicon one until my active case arrives. The innocase 2 seems to look better than the active case and the Verizon one but whatever it scratched my phone.

The Seidio Active is amazing! I had the body glove, but it broke from constant falling/busting open, which is good because the phone's still in great shape. Anyhow I ordered the Active from Amazon earlier this week and it fits the device very well! it's super tight and very slim. I really like how the screen lip is so small that you can still wipe your finger right over it, it's part of the neoprene inner case, great form factor. I am still very impressed with the slimness compared to my former case.

Otterboxes for the M

A little to much bulk for me but I know some people love these... I plan to stick with the VZW TPU case and the holster for the shell case. They work well together...

Love the otter but your exactly right I took a look at them and they are definitely bulky IMO. I just bought a cheap clear case on eBay. Looks good with the white razr m. Say no to retail!! Lol

The defender cases are a little absurd unless you work construction or are in a war zone but I have the Commuter case for the Galaxy Nexus and It feels like a solid part of the phone. It adds about a cm in all directions to it but it's really worth it if you want good protection and a really solid feel. It's really the first case I've ever had that felt like part of the phone.
Commuter for M Pics
Got the Commuter in last night, thought you guys might like some pics.

Overall Impression: Excellent case. Fits perfect in the hand, giving me a confident grip I didn't have with the naked M. It is the most painless install/removal of an Otterbox I've ever experienced; Simply line it up at the top, drop it down and it seats perfectly. The silicone used is so far not attracting any dust or other particles, and if it does they simply wipe off. Included screen protector fits well, however it had a bad case of rainbow banding in certain light (such as at my workplace) making it impossible to use there. Highly Recommended! :highfive:
Trident confirmed yesterday that they are producing cases for the M. One that interests me is the Aegis model. Its a competitor to the Otterbox Commuter and Incipio style cases. They will launch their line the end of this month or beginning of November. I just purchased the Boxwave Duosuit. Should be here Friday. I'll let y'all know how that one turns out.

Picked up a black commuter the other day. Really wanted the white one for my white phone, but they didn't have it, and I wasn't going to wait after seeing it in front of me.
Fits great, seems plenty protective, and the phone doesn't feel bulky to me. The black case leaves a little room where a "white line" from the white phone shows up, kind of a cool little accent. Would recommend for $35 for sure.

any idea what the difference is between the defender case and defender hybrid case? The review on Otterbox's website says there is no built in screen protector just a adhesive protector for the screen. Can't seem to figure out if the hybrid has the screen protector like other defenders have?

I got the Defender about two weeks ago. Yes...the case is bulky but I do spend some of my work days on construction sites. I love the case.
My only complaint is the latches in the hard inner case. The top, bottom and USB side latches are all solid. Maybe it's because the volume/power button side only has 1 latch but it rarely stays latched. Fortunately, the outside rubber case keeps most of the free play of that side to a minimum.
Biggest complaint: cheap ass belt holster. Cheap material. Kick stand won't even stand up with the phone in the holster. I can't believe they use that as a selling point because it won't even come close to keep the phone from falling over. What a joke!! No lock on the holster latch and it would be EASY to bump the latch, allowing the phone to fall out. Very easy!
The holster is a joke in comparison to the Seidio clip lock holster that I had with my Blackberrys. Much better latch, a lock and better materials. I mostly keep the phone in my pocket because I'm scared of my phone falling out of the holster. The case is nice but it won't protect the phone if it falls15+ floors from one of my projects.
Good case. Terrible holster. Worth $35 instead of $50.

I was hoping they would make a case. I currently have a Defender on my iPhone 4. I wish they had come up with another solution for the home button. As it is designed there is a hole in the screen protector which can allow dust to get behind the screen protector.
Instead of the otterbox I think I will be going with a Seidio active case with clip and apply my own screen protector.

Well i am still waiting for the otterbox, I have looked at the Aegis and Seidio lineup and i feel they do have some design flaws, i know it wont matter for a lot of people but for me its a deal breaker, look at the back of Aegis or Seidio, the outer hard shell doesnt have any support at the bottom near the usb charger, so whenever you pull your phone from your pocket the rubber will get misplaced and pulled in different angles, because it doesnt have any support. There are a few videos on youtube complaining about that.
Thats not the case with otterbox, the hard shell pretty much encompasses the whole device.
just my 2 cents.

A lot of people like the Trident cases. I'm especially excited for the Kraken AMS, which has loads of accessories (car mounts, bike clips, etc). Trident seems to develop a wider range of cases for their phones, all of which are cheaper than the lower end otterbox.
The main advantage with Otterbox is the plastic screen cover, which is built into the case. This is a hit-or-miss, depending on the preference. For me, it is a big miss because dust will invariably get in behind the screen (especially if you work construction like me), forcing you to remove the case to clean the phone on nearly a weekly basis. After a while of taking the case on and off, the soft outer shell will lose its tension, and will start to flop off when you don't want it to. This has been a constant design flaw with Otterbox.
The other thing Otterbox has going for it is the full size holster. I use the holster all the time, so this used to be a plus. The problem is that the hard plastic clip is prone to breaking.
I now go with the Trident Kraken and SpiGen protector. I don't use the included belt clip, and instead I use a full pouch which fits the phone case and all. This has worked well for my Nexus, and should work well for the GN2 as well.
It is a matter of preference though. This is only my opinion, and lots of people are quite happy with Otterbox.

Question
I am interested in buying this case but I don't like cases that stick to my pocket while pulling them out. Does this matte case have any problems?
I notice that there is a line/indentation around the back of the case - does this trap dirt/lint? I am wondering why they placed it there in the first place.
Thanks.

It goes in and out of my jeans pockets with no issues. If you wear skinny jeans, then I can't help you. It is remarkable to me how little dirt/lint stick to this thing. It is made of hard but flexible rubber, I haven't found anything sticking to it. Keep in mind, its a barely bigger than the phone and it does push up my screen protector in the lower left hand corner. My Spigen case didn't do that, but it made the phone feel huge to me.
Thanks!

It's just a cheap clear one from Amazon. This case really hugs the screen, it adds almost no width at all. Its not really noticeable unless I look for it, I wouldn't think you'll have huge problems.

Anyone can share some experience about bumper case for LG G4??
I got the LG G4 with Bumper case and this case fits securely on my phone, feels good in my hands, and displays the beauty of this phone. My mother did complain it was slippery in the case, but that was after she dropped my brand new phone on a tiled floor. The phone didn't sustain any damage and hasn't in the several drops it has received from me as well. The case is mildly susceptible to scratches, but its taking the abuse your phone isn't so its not a big deal and it isn't that noticeable.
If you like a slim, low profile case this will work for you. I can easily slip it in and out of my pocket and it doesn't add much bulk to the phone!!!!

I just received this case. It fits perfectly on the plastic back cover. But it doesn't fit properly on the leather cover. Really has me bummed. Not enough protection from falls. The lip on the front of the case doesn't come around the screen enough, like it does with the plastic case. If you dropped it, the screen, especially the corners, would be in danger of damage. I have the wireless sticker inside the leather back, so I was really hoping that this would be the bumper that would allow me to feel the leather.
I ordered aluminum bumper for my brown leather case. Item is as described but isn't really for the leather back.
It is really tight fit and I thought this will leave a permanent mark in long run and sure enough, less than a minute I took it off and had slight indentation where the bumper touches the back. Thankfully leather healed itself and mark is gone now.
I wouldn't recommend this for leather back users. But looks beautiful when it's on. I really hope some manufacturers make similar items for leathers.

I think it depends on the back. I have black leather and although it does leave a little mark, because of the texture, it's very difficult to see.
I can see how it would show pretty easy on the brown leather though since it isn't textured.
I have this on my Nexus 5, love it

Is it affect the singal of the LG G4 if use the aluminum bumper case?
EVERY METAL BUMPER I've ever used has screwed up,signal. Makes me think in Europe they use some band that magically passes through, or they just have so many stronger and powerful towers, losing a couple of bars in neglibible. How else could people use these? LoveMEI makes solid alyminym cases, they must have a following that doesn't care about signal dropping
