I reduced the size of these as much as possible, still a bit bigger than I was hoping. Next project is making this a LWP.

agree, im running slidemeroot5r1 and we dont have boot animations. so im not going to swtich to a nandroid just to try, anyone have a gif of it ?

You can use Image Resize in photoshop to make the template bigger if you need to, since it's a layer style than will stretch with no artifacts.

Steps for Nexus S installation:
1) Download file
2) Rename to bootanimation.zip
3) Copy to system/media/
