All g2 kernels are caf based now per lg.
There is a multitude of caf versions. Paranoid android, cm, and Mahdi all use different variations.
If this is built off cms caf variation, it will only work on cm. Same with dr87's simple kernel (once released) will only work with aosp build off his source. Pa only works with pa

Glad to see some development for cm base. Shame cm gave up on us before 4.4 dropped, as 4.2 based is unstable as hell for the vs980.
Not sure if you already checked it out or not, but @JackpotClavin made a build for us using the 4.4 source, and it runs very well.
Just tossing that out there in case you did want to look into it (in case no one steps up to be a cm Dev for our phone.
Glad to have you here!

[KERNEL][3.4.53+] Byte Kernel 7/16/13 *Updated-AGAIN*

I'm going to start this off by saying that I picked the commits for this kernel and compiled it for MYSELF and I decided to share it with everyone else(I was already making myself a Nexus 4 kernel but the repo was a bit messy so I started over for the sake of organization). None of the code in the kernel is mine. Credit for it belongs with these organizations/ individuals:
The Linux Foundation

Faux zRAM patches
Faux Sound
Faux Intelli-thermal
Fix many compile warnings thanks to anarkia1976 and myself

EDIT:
second download worked..i did the exact same thing as before so I do not know what was the difference..
i will let you know how the kernel does..
EDIT 2:
First Impressions:
On FauxClock it says all the voltages are 1300mhz....so i would suggest using Trickster or Franco Kernel Updater
you may want to UV it a little bit out of the box..it is set pretty high...other than that i see no issues OOB

[ROM] [WIP] AOSP 4.3 [21.10.2013] v0.04

Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
This is an (pretty early) AOSP build for our lovely x3 (p880). This project is still highly WIP, and there are many, many bugs.
But the most important part of a phone is working You can make calls as usual
Now, let's go on as I'm no fan of big speeches
Working
ADB
RIL (Phone)
Data
WiFi
NFC
Sound
Music playback
Vibration
USB connection
Bluetooth
Bluetooth tethering (cannot test myself)
Button Backlight
Busybox ---> SuperSU can be easily flashed now
Brightness
Not working
Camera
You tell me more
Installation
Download the ROM
Download GAPPS
Download WWJB kernel CM10.2 version
Full wipe
Flash ROM, GAPPS and kernel (you need to flash a custom kernel for now, as the ROM is missing some modules)
reboot
As already said, this project is WIP. So expect bugs, but if you encounter bugs, please also report them via DevDB bug reports. And please read the others before to avoid double posting

Don't forget AOSP-CAF by @mistercheese. He's doing a great job with his one, too.
I'd rather have all these talented developers unite and work on the same ROM ( Lineage for example ) rather than developing their own.
