Stock rom .167 rooted (deodexed or not) or eXistenZ v4.0.0 & v4.5.0 or MoonWalker Revolution v2.3 & v2.4 is an absolute requirement to use this mod. Stock kernel or Custom kernel.
Features:
1- build.prop add-ons:
- dalvik tweaks
- dns tweaks (removed - see 2nd post)
- 100% jpeg quality
- force 2D & 3D GPU rendering
- performance tweaks
- battery tweaks
2- Scripts :
- cleaner
- remount optimized
- eMMC readahead increased (optional)
- conservative governor (optional) for all cores, better performances than stock ondemand or interactive
- kill media server at boot
- darky zipalign of apps and system apps,
- databases optimized by sqlite3
Requirements:
- Stock rom 4.4.4 /.167 rooted or eXistenZ v4.0.0 / v4.5.0 or MoonWalker Revolution v2.3 / v2.4
- Busybox
- Smanager (if you have [NUT]'s XZDualRecovery (this is the case with rom eXistenZ), busybox is already installed and don't update it or you will lose recovery)
The mod is stable. But as said: it's at your own risk blablabla blabla...
Installation:
1- Do a backup in recovery first,
2- Flash XperiaTweakZ2_v3.2_Stock167.zip (stock .167) or XperiaTweakZ2_v3.2_eXistenZ_vxxx.zip or XperiaTweakZ2_v3.2_MoonWalker_Rev_vxxx.zip, and reboot
Only for MoonWalker Revolution: delete scripts 1 to 7 in /system/etc/init.d
3- Open SManager and select the scripts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 in /system/etc/XperiatweakZ2,
Set script 1 & 2 as "su" and "boot" and don't forget to save the configurations,
Script 3 (readahead): set as "su" and "boot", unless you already have your own readahead settings in Fauxclock (or another app),
Script 4 (conservative governor): set as "su" and "boot", unless you already have your own governor settings in another app,
Set script 5 as "su" and "boot" (only for Stock rom, script already present in eXistenZ rom),
For script 6 & 7 (zipalign & sqlite), set them as "su" but not "boot", it's better to schedule it to run once a week rather than at each boot (advanced settings in SManager).
4- Reboot and enjoy
If v3.1 was previously installed and configured in SManager: backup first and just flash v3.2
Note: do not use these scripts as init.d scripts, some of them won't work.
Future updates of the mod: I'll keep this mod updated with the next firmwares. Some tweaks may be added. Suggestions are welcome...
Updates:
- 03/03 (v3.2): support for rom MoonWalker Revolution v2.4
- 03/02 (v3.2): support for rom MoonWalker Revolution v2.3
- 19/01 (v3.2): support for rom MoonWalker Revolution v2.0
- 16/01 (v3.2): support for rom eXistenZ v4.5.0
- 30/12 (v3.2): conservative governor for all cores, various little fixes, support for eXistenZ v4.0.0
- 14/11 (v3.1): zipalign of priv-app apps fixed + support for rom eXistenZ v3.1.5
- 12/11 (v3): missing zipalign fixed, zipalign of priv-app apps, kill media server script added, new battery and performances tweaks
- 08/11 (v2): support for stock rom 4.4.4 / FW .167
- 14/10 (v2): support for rom eXistenZ v3.1.5
- 29/07 (v2): support for firmware .314 - eMMC readahead increased (optional) - conservative governor (optional)

Change your DNS with DNS Changer (Upd 13/10):
Using alternative nameservers like Google DNS or OpenDNS can dramatically speed up your browsing. You can also bypass local DNS filters.
A DNS tweak was included in XperiatweakZ2, but it does not longer work. I propose to use the app DNS changer, which works perfectly.
Instructions:
- Install DNS Changer,
- launch the app,
- select primary DNS: US - Google 1 (whatever your country), i.e. 8.8.8.8,
- select Alternate DNS: US - Google 2 (whatever your country), i.e. 8.8.4.4,
- Go to the app settings,
- Check Auto apply for Wifi and for 3G,
- Check Auto set primary DNS,
- Choose from available: US - Google 1,
- Check Auto set alternate DNS,
- Choose from available: US - Google 2,
- Enjoy
Now, browsing may be faster and the selected DNS will persit after reboot.

Edit your build.prop with rootexplorer, add this line at the end:
Code:

Set correct permissions, reboot.

What exactly this tweak does? Is it gonna help me to write in SDcard?

Hi Nreuge. Happy to see you here too with your mode's.
I try to install your mod, but after download, install Busybox and restart the phone, i loss the dualtouch recovery on Pilz.
How to flash this tweak, if i don't have recovery?
I reinstall it again /i mean recovery/ , but I do not risk again unless I miss something important.
I am on stock rooted 4.4.2.
Thanks for your work Nreuge.

Hi, happy to see you here too
I really can't figure out what's happened... quite weird!
Yes, reinstall recovery and flash my mod.
Anyway, your backup will be still here.

Can I try it without the busybox file now or not, just flash zip?
What do you think Nreuge?

I fear I don't understand what you mean.

I mean, direct flash from recovery, without install on the busybox from the play store?
It does not matter anymore, just flashed it?

No, my mod will be useless without busybox...
Maybe you can try first to install DooMLord's advanced Stock kernel + recovery

Sory for that, but i am on locked bootloader for now.
Never mind Nreuge.
Thanks.
Edit: How to test this tweak Nreuge, please tell me?

Read up on dual recovery and why you can't change or install a different busybox! I am running this mod without having to change busybox on LB okay

Yes I think you could expose your issue in the dual recovery thread.
Unfortunately, I cannot help you since I don't have this issue...

Hi! New to the rooting scene. I haven't rooted my Z2 yet but I'm planning to do so very soon. What do you mean by 100% jpeg quality and other performance tweaks? Plus, I don't have to unlock my bootloader, right? Just run towelroot?
Tried it out myself. Rooted using Easyroot, installed via recovery. Works like a charm!

Enabling 3G and mobile data results in a moderate battery drain even during sleep.
Troubleshooting
If you experience lags or slowdowns after updating to a new version, 'Wipe Dalvik Cache' in CWM -> Advanced.
If you use Link2SD, make sure to 'Recreate Mount Script'.
If you use DarkTremor's Apps2SD, make sure to reflash it in CWM.
Installation
Copy update zip to SD card.
Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
(RECOMMENDED) Make a Backup.
If you want a clean install of the main ROM, do a factory reset. Otherwise, skip this step.
Flash zip package(s) (always flash main ROM first).
Reboot.

If you really like it, please consider some donations. It would also help me cover filehosting fees.
I normally use zepellinrox supercharger v6, will the tweaks you have added conflict? I'll try later on or tomorrow and post any feedback. The only request I would put is for an integrated 7-screen home, I normally flash this but it saves time... Thanks for the work anyway.

It won't conflict. As for the home screen, I'll keep the stock version. If I change the apk to something else, then it wouldn't be stock anymore. Thanks for testing.

Looks interesting - I will give it a try
How to create your own custom rom ?
No installation problems, but fast first boot.
Looking forward to se what influence this ROM might have on battery drain.
Only one more thing, I still use the DooMKernel v12 with modded CWM.
I'll be back to morrow after a fully test day.
Impressive, I always wanted to have such a lite version, ( maybe even with Stock launcher when ICS came, unless SE comes with something interesting !! )
but sadly I have locked bootloader and does not want to unlock it now, maybe later after 1 year when SE stops updates or when no root is possible without unlocking the bootloader...
so what can I remove from preloaded apps to have such lite se stock ? I really loved the internal storage free !! I feel like I'm seeing a faked or dream
I already have .42 rooted and Titanium Backup, and already removed some pre-installed apps like News & Weather and golf game etc.. but I didn't remove any SE widgets and kept some other SE apps not for a reason.. just I saw them too small to worry about...
so can we have a list of removed apps/widgets and what you kept ?

I don't know, what doomed151 removed, but here (The Complete Comprehensive List of System Apps for Xperia Arc (Updated)) is a list with apps and widget, which can be removed from stock ROM (and a list with apps you should not touch

I didn't write them down but I'll try to list to the best I can:
Removed
- Timescape
- Facebook integration services
- McAfee
- UEFA and Hot Shots
- Hidden services (SecureClock etc.)
- SEMC Email
- LiveWare Manager
Kept
- Almost every other widgets and apps

Known Issues for 5.0
Touch controls might not work in AROMA Installer.
As with stock ICS, phone/contacts may take a while to start for the first time after boot.
If you didn't do a full wipe when coming from 4.1.B.0.431, you might have problems deleting bloatware.
Troubleshooting
Flash the corresponding modules from the kernel you use (unless "modules included" is written) to make sure WiFi works properly.
If touch doesn't work in AROMA Installer, you can use hardware keys to navigate (like CWM).
Installation
Copy update zip to SD card.
Flash a suitable baseband using FlashTool.
Flash one of the listed kernels or any compatible ones.
Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
Flash zip package.

Probably not because you need to flash the new kernel using fastboot (which is only available on unlocked bootloaders).

'Same as stock ICS beta.'
Everything that works in ICS beta works here im assuming. Its still an initial release so not too much tweaked.
As always you manage to bring something top class to the table.
great work doomed as always
everything is working on my arc s. the rom looks very nice i love the ics-style.
The UI is a bit laggy and slow but it is still a beta rom so it doesn't matter.

if this rom runs with a locked bootloader, there is no need to unlock it to flash it. You can install recovery without unlocking the bootloader
No. Not for LB because it include doomkernel. LB Edition will release soon
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 4
Lol..
if it runs on doomkernel it runs on stock so there is no need to unlock
plus have you paid the root explorer app that you have included in this rom?
EDIT
and titanium backup?
And other paid for apps?
And given credts!
Yes. Except titanium backup (modaco version). I think doomkernel for UB not for LB. LB only run in stock kernel
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 4
Just downloaded and flashed this rom, seems reaaaaaally fast & smooth, I'll report battery life as soon as i could.
Nice work ;p
working on stock 145 kernel too-->no need for a "special" version for locked bootloaders...
Yes. It run on stock kernel, doomkernel, vkernel,.......... But I put doomkernel inside rom. LB flash it may brick.

It's not an inconvenience mate, it's taking someone's work without his permission. That's the first rule on XDA and it's really a pity not asking because most users give their permission without any problem. It's just a pm
You should also ask @Pandemic if you can use it because he gave me his permission to use cpu-settings from his mod.
So, i suggest you to ask him too.
I have his permission, waiting for his permission to use it ..................

Simple Battery Saving Tips:
1. Always, be sure u made a clean install of whichever ROM u installed.
2. Once after installing a ROM, let it settle.
3. Debloat appropriately, you don't want to mess with the system stability by removing the necessary apk's.
4. Use Auto Brightness along with keeping the brightness bar to least value.
5. Use Underclocking and Undervolting for more battery backup, but do read a lot before u do it. Coz improper settings with them(ex: Dealing with voltages), can screw up the h/w.
6. Turn Auto-Sync OFF. Saves a lot of juice.
7. Switch off Data/Wifi when u don't use them.
8. Using Custom kernels will increase battery backup. U can choose custom governors and i/o schedulers and such. I suggest using intelliactive governor and sio scheduler for best results.
9. I personally wouldn't suggest using Greenify, because it does what our Sony Xperia's Stamina Mode does. And Stamina mode works better in my opinion. Still, u could give it a try freezing apps which u don't need.
10. Use Amplify(Xposed Module) to reduce Google Play Services drain, this helps a lot on any phone with 4.4.2 and above.
11. Restart your phone atleast once in 3 days, therefore old processes are stopped while shutting down.
12. Don't use any RAM/Cache cleaner or Battery saving apps.
Battery Caliberation:
1. Charge your device to 100%. Use it till it turns OFF. (Do this for 3-5 charge cycles and u will notice the difference).
Most of these steps work on non rooted devices too.. Except u have to disable apps in Settings instead of removing the apk's like with rooted users. Anyways u guys can provide me with feedbacks after u followed these steps. Hope u benefited from this.

Hello, tried to install but ended in a bot loop
I followed the steps mentioned in the op.
After flashing, the boot animations starts (the blue one) but after that it always restarts.
I am on unlocked bootloader if it matters.
Thank you

I think there is only 1 custom kernel for 4.4.4 Stock/Stock based ROMs.. Its Hodor Kernel by Olivier.. I myself will try making a kernel if time persists.. But Stock kernel is already good enough.. You are welcome to try any kernel that is for 283 builds..

Google Contacts Sync is removed, since most of the users won't use much Gapps like Contacts Sync, Google+, etc(They tend to remove it as they see it as bloatware).. If users need it back, i will put it back in v2).. For now, u can try getting the apk and push it and set perms..

Honestly i didn't had any crashes or bootloops caused by removing it in more than a month of use on Z5 Compact and nobody reported this problem on the compact thread.
Still thanks for the advice :good: i will look into it!

You could try without but i do not know if it will work.
Just do a backup before and try
Should you have any problem then flash latest .224
Hey, why no systemless root?
Thank you in advance.

Viper4Android.
I cannot install it, using the stock apk, unless i have system root and busybox, but i didn't try hard enough maybe.
I know i can implement it directly in the rom but i didn't get an answer/permission to do it from the author, so i chose to use a system root.
I would love to have systemless root and xposed tough, maybe in the next release

Thank you very much! Totally understood.
But does that mean Viper4Android has hardcoded the SU Binary? Would be disappointing.
Another question: Would you rate this rom as stable as stock?
It is possible to install this rom on E6633/E6683? :'(

A quick tip, it's pretty easy to get xposed and supersu systemless to install as they both use sh scripts for their update-binary you can install both like a normal supersu zip in updater-script

I've just installed this rom. It works flawlessly. However I installed Sony Home 10.0.A.0.40. In my opinion is better Home 10.0.A.0.32, that it is in the new FW 32.2.A.0.224 by Sony, than Home 10.0.A.0.40. Anyone have Home 10.0.A.0.32?
Thanks in advance.
Quick question - I'm currently on stock .224. Can I just flash this or do I need to downgrade to .185?
EDIT - I take it TWRP is included as well?
EDITED EDIT - I just went ahead and flashed this over stock .224 and everything went fine. I just cannot believe how fast and smooth this ROM is. Amazing work!
I went straight to your ROM from 185. I just wiped system and dalvik/art + cache and after a day use it's all good. Thanks a lot
