Auto correct - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

Is it just me (maybe I'm missing a setting or something) but I came from iPhone, the auto correct kinda blows in comparison. Now I'm not some apple eater as I've had both android and apple. I love the S5 but it can't be just me who thinks the auto correct is inferior.

It varies per keyboard. Try SwiftKey keyboard. It is now free.

Keyboard auto correct

Is there any reason that when I replace the Samsung keyboard in the at&t active with a Samsung keyboard with auto correct from a s4 rom it still won't allow me to use auto correct? It's like it takes that option out no matter what the ime.apk is.

Black Keyboard?

Samsung recently posted an ad on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nwuk90Gc2A) it shows Messi holding the note 3 but his version has a black keyboard. Does anyone know how to get that keyboard on our phone? Thanks in advance!

It looks like the Google keyboard. Which you can get from the app store. SwiftKey has a better black keyboard.

I normally use the Google keyboard but I actually really like the stock keyboard. Love that dedicated number row.

Seems like the stock one I'm actually used to the one my custom note 1 had so I just flashed that wonder why they would advertise the phone with something that doesn't come stock with it

I did like that dedicated number row. But geez. It takes up half the screen, and is ugly imo

That's definitely not the Google Keyboard.. it looks nice, though!
I am currently using AI KeyBoard. You can make it have the top row of numbers as well as a lot more customization features.. no swyping, though.

No that isn't it. The keyboard in the video looks like it is a stock samsung keyboard with the number row at the top. I suspect it maybe the N9005 or N9000 model that has a black keyboard???
I'm actually impressed with the stock keyboard so much that i haven't even installed swift key yet and I'm not sure i will. Light years ahead of the stock Note 2 keyboard.

Samsung Keyboard or another?

So I really like the stock Samsung Keyboard (specifically its layout) but it doesn't learn new words and its just annoying to have to recorrect auto corrects all the time. Am I missing how to fix this in the settings without turning auto correct off? What keyboard are you guys using on the Note 3? I've gone back to Jellybean 4.3 for the moment...just curious to opinions to what the best keyboard is.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this...

My son and I both have AT&T Note 3's I added the family map service that's on the phone and wanted to know if there's any way the location can be spoofed? I have a feeling he's spoofing his location lol but every location spoofer app I download on my phone shows me it can't be done. Does anyone know if this is true or not and am I being paranoid for no reason? hahaha

That was the first app I checked out. I use to use that long ago on Facebook lol. I tried just about every spoof app and none worked so I think I'm good.

You need to enable mock locations in developer options in order for location spoofers to work.

Yup I did, it spoofs all apps but the AT&T Family Map app and that's what I was hoping for.

What is the difference between Dalvik and ART?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Best way to describe it.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...dicated-runtime-thread-art-vs-dalvik-t2516646

I switched to ART and it took a good while to upgrade android apps, but not sure I notice a huge difference.

I switched and then switched back after some apps not behaving well, this xda app included.

I switched but then Private Mode didn't work. So I switched back to Dalvik.

I switched to art and then switched back and during reboot my phone showed the custom with the unlocked padlock. I rebooted again and it was a normal reboot.

Same for me. Strange.

Me too. I find the custom boot interesting and wonder if it can't be exploited.

Same thing here...just checked...might be something. ...Devs take notice.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
ditto on the unlocked padlock when switching to ART. usually this means the bootloader is now unlocked. at least on the nexus line of phones...hmm
art works fine for me, however this device just doesn't seem as responsive as my nexus 5. I'm actually a little disappointed in the day to day performance. it's almost like its too aggressive with the memory management making apps cold start more often.

When I used ART, the MLB At Bat app would crash when trying to stream a game. So back to Dalvik I went lol.

yea, a good chunk of apps won't run in ART mode. just search for articles on it. luckily I don't really use any of those apps, so ART on my nexus 5 and s5 are just fine

Same experience....switched to ART and it had 435+ apps to "upgrade" - took FOREVER, then didn't really notice any benefit...in fact, the responsiveness felt ever so slightly "stuck." Very quickly switched back to Dalvik, rebooted quickly, only had to upgrade about 250 apps, and the phone seemed snappier...could just be a placebo effect, but don't really see the point in the ART just yet....stickin' with Dalvik for now....
I switched to ART, phone is pretty fast as it is so visibly no noticeable difference, however utilizing a memory cleaning app/monitor it does use less of the system RAM in ART mode. Which seems like a good thing. I do have a couple of apps that occasionally crash in ART, but not enough to make it annoying yet. Just seeing how well it works, I do like the fact that it is using less system resources. Since there is not ROOT in the foreseeable future for ATT S 5's and I cannot get rid of bloatware, I will take what I can get.
I switched to ART.. Phone ran hot actually.. didn't seem any faster.. faster battery drian...switched back
Ok update. Started acting weird, apps were not functioning right, phone started having random lockup behavior. Switched back, all is good.
