2.4.1 to 2.6.1 install - Xposed General

I just updated my ROM to Beanstalk 4.4.285 and now xposed does not work. It is still showing up as being installed in the all apps list. The app drawer does not show it anywhere. My installed modules are still listed. I downloaded the newest version from the website but it says it is already installed and the signature is a mismatch. I can not uninstall as I do not have the app listed. Anyway to remove it to reinstall?

I'm confused, you say you can't uninstall it because the app is not listed but you also say it is showing in the all apps list. Do you just mean it isn't showing in the app drawer? If so, that doesn't matter. Go to the all apps list and uninstall it from there. Then install the update and it should work.

Going to Settings > Apps > Downloaded does not show it, swiping to the All column shows the Xposed Installer. Clicking on this only gives me 2 options, Force stop, and disable. There is no uninstall option button. I have Clear data, Clear cache, Backup.. but no uninstall

It's a system app, that's why you can't uninstall it from settings. Either uninstall with xposed disabler zip in recovery or with titanium backup. Then install what you want.

The disabler zip doesn't remove the APK, it just restores the orignal /system/bin/app_process.
TB should work, even though the system app will probably come back when you upgrade your ROM.
Disabling the signature check means that the system APK remains there, which I think is not so nice. Plus, it's quite dangerous: http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...-disable-it-with-xposed-and-why-you-shouldnt/
Long story short: These are some reasons why I strongly recommend not to include Xposed in ROMs. I won't give you further support, please ask for help in your ROM's thread.

Removing a Missing App from Manager

I was using cy's latest rom and flash nextheme with goodies.
Then cy put out an update...so I flashed that...and lost the theme.
This time...I decided I didn't want the goodies...so I just flashed the theme. All Good except when I go to Setting/Apps/Manage...there is an app there with 0.00kb Looks like a wallpaper (com.htc.android.wallpaper). When I click on it...it FCs and just goes into loading...
How can I get rid of the item from the list of apps that I have?
Do the uninstall box now show for this?
No...no uninstall box....when I click on it...to try an get to the uninstall screen...it FCs and then shows the loading icon until I hit the back button to exit.
Using a bomb when a hammer will suffice...but I may as well ask
How far invested are you with your current setup; will a backup of your apps/data (you can uncheck the app that isn't installed during the batch backup process assuming you are using titanium), a full wipe and then install of core, gapps, theme, goodies be something you are worth doing?

LoL! Yeah...that's what I ended up doing...I'm actually a Heavy Weight Champ in the field of Wipe/Flash every other hour!
Alright...I've removed email/facebook/amazon from the /system/app folder and also the /data/data folder.
Now when I go into the applications menu...under settings. I see those 3 apps with 0kb. Before...I used to click on it and then it would allow me to uninstall. Now, I just get an FC (process.com.android.settings).
I used the search function on the explorer that I use...and it came up with nothing. The files are com.amazon.mp3 - com.facebook.katana - com.android.email
This time...I don't feel like re-updating...even if I do that...I'm sure this problem will come back. Could it be a Cy 5.0.5.3 bug?
Any ideas?
drop to a shell with root access and type:
pm uninstall *NAMEOFAPK*
such as
pm uninstall com.amazon.mp3
should get a Success notification, and you are good.
Awesome! Just did one and it worked! Now for the next two...
what does the pm stand for?

[Q] Help please! Need to uninstall

I have the swype beta installed on my device, I rooted my device to try and theme the keyboard. I followed the directions from a thread I found on these forums. (New users cannot post links otherwise I would link the thread...)
Swype now no longer works. If I go to applications, it no longer has an uninstall button (Just "Clear Cache/data"). If I use astro, It has an uninstall button but when I click it, it always says "Uninstall unsuccessful"
I would like to continue using swype. I am very frustrated at this point because I have spent all morning trying to figure out how to root my device and apply this theme only to have it screw it all up.
Please tell me how I can uninstall it or get rid of the data so I can reinstall it.
Just try re installing it

it won't let me since it's already technically installed. It just give the option to uninstall which always ends up with "uninstall unsuccessful"
Send the developer an en email and see what he says

You should just manually delete it. Use your file explorer and search /system/app, /data/app, /data/data and delete all instances of swype, and maybe even reboot and wipe dalvik cache in recovery (you won't lose any thing else on your phone, just expect a long reboot after the wipe)
Then just reinstall

[Q] Rocket ROM 19 Galaxy Note, Google Search don't want to update

Hi,
Google Search on my note don't want to update (error message from market) when i try to update manually.
Already clear Cache on market, and history Cache.
Market tell me to deinstall application b4 trying to reinstall, which is something i can't do right now.
What should i do to make this update ?
Uninstall with something like titanium backup. Reboot. Install from market.

Succeeded to uninstall but can't reinstall from market throw me another error message. And sometimes market can't connect too
Strange, no problems for me to install Google Search by first uninstall it with TB, and rebooting and installing from market...
Also with TB you can long press on Google Search and convert to system app to get the long press on menu key option to work again...

[FIX]Xposed framework lag

For those who expirienced lag/slowness after installing the Xposed framework with no modules or anything, here is a solution:
1. Uninstall Xposed framework
2. Go in /system and open build.prop in a text editor
3. go to the line ( “ro.securestorage.support=true” ) and change it to false
4. Install the xposed framework
5. Clear the app data for S-Health and HealthService
6. Reboot
Credit for this fix goes to cokenet in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768445
Hope this helps.

My solution was to reboot into the recovery, wipe cache and reboot. Not sure if its just temporary, but it seems to work

Works great, thanks for pointing that out.
In my experience, it wasn't xopsed causing the lag, it was TiBu as it was asking for root access constantly in the background. If you check your super su logs, it might list titanium backup tons of times.

It doesn't actually. It's an incompatible dependency. There have been a number of threads on the subject, so do a search to confirm the details, but I believe it was the ro.securestorage.support=false property that resolves the issue.
Just for others' future reference. To fix S health
Make sure the Xposed isn’t installed.
We need to change build.prop file inside the system partition, you can also get it done manually by using a file manager app or get a build prop editor on play store.
Once you find the build.prop file, look for the “ro.securestorage.support=true” line.
Now change the line to “ro.securestorage.support=false”.
Install the Xposed framework again.
The final step is wiping S Health app data, head to System -> App Manager -> ALL -> S Health then wipes the data. Now your Galaxy S5 should be able to runs Xposed framework and S Health simultaneously without any problems.

Yes. And you shouldn't need to reinstall Xposed framework either. Just edit the build.prop, wipe cache + Dalvik cache and reboot. That will cure the lag in most cases.
1. Edit the /system/build.prop file, changing ro.securestorage.support=true to ro.securestorage.support=false
2. Wipe cache & Dalvik cache
3. Reboot
Sometimes there may be a secondary cause contributing to the lag. If you have a specific app that is troublesome, it often helps to clear that app's cache and data in the Application manager after doing the above steps.
4. Open the Application Manager (Settings > Applications > Application Manager > All > app name)
5. Clear the app's cache and data
6. Reboot
specific instructions for S-health
Miscellaneous lag tweaks
- Disable S-voice for a more responsive home button
- Freeze Ti backup with Greenify (or close Ti backup when you don't need it). Ti backup frequently requests super user which has been reported to drag some systems down
- Disable system animation. Reduce or turn off system animation:
Settings > General > Developer options > Windows animation scale > off
Settings > General > Developer options > Transition animation scale > off
Settings > General > Developer options > Animator duration scale > off
.
So how do we clear dalvik and cache without a custom recovery? Never did that before.

Had the same thing happening. What I did to get it to stick was use Root Browser to edit the build.prop file in a text editor. Unfortunately S Health still force closes.

did you clear the data for s-health?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Build.prop is a system file. And the system partition is normally mounted as a read only file system. A root aware file editor such as FX root will remount the fs as read-write so that your edit will be saved.
@jpstiehl
Did you read the posts about Shealth? If you are seeing forced closes with Shealth, you also need to clear the app cache and data in the Applcation manager. And clear the system cache in Recovery mode. There is a link to details in Post #11.

Thanks guys, I did follow directions more than once and made sure to clear system cache in recovery as well as S Health app data and cache to no avail.
Edit: I followed every guide that I could find and unfortunately assumed that the "link to details in Post#11" was the same as the rest. Well, it's not. Good to go now.
read only
so I keep trying to change true to false in the build.prop but every time I attempt to, it does not save and goes back to original. I have tried changing read only setting but must not be doing something right.,, Any ideas??

What file explorer are you using.
Edit:
I use Root Explorer, find the location of the build.prop again, hold down on it till it pops up an option menu, at the bottom of the menu click on " open in text editor" , there will be a warning pop up saying " the file system is read only, do you want to remount as read write and continue" click yes, edit the file to false and back out of the Explorer. If it asks you if you want to save click yes. Reboot, reinstall Xposed Framework. Try using the file explorer. It worked for me.

Snapchat login not working

Just rooted yesterday and getting "VisualFilter files are missing" appears on the screen, and when I login with my username and password it says "Oh No! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again later."
I have never had this issue before - I'm thinking some .apk I downloaded might be causing this. Any way to fix it? Do I need rootcloak for Snapchat to work?

Its Snapchat being a tard. They block root users from logging in. If you have Xposed, uninstall the framework then log in on sc. Then install Xposed in its framework again. Don't log out. As for visual filters, I've been having the same issue lately. Gotta download them on snapprefs.

Thanks guys! Got it working! The only issue is I am still having that filters files missing issue - still cannot figure out how to get those filters to work in Snapprefs. I downloaded them but cannot see where to use filters.
I had it working once. Enable custom filters in snapprefs settings. Then click download visual filters. You might have to extract them or they just save directly to the snapprefs folder.
Hey guys, I am logged in to Snapchat and it opens up, but after a few seconds the app closes by itself.. Already looked into the xda thread of snapprefs, but I did reinstall xposed etc already and use the correct Snapchat version.. Maybe I'm too stupid to find the correct page
Any solutions to fix the force close? Haven't got any filters installed as I read this could cause a crash too.. (
Edit: xposed framework 79, snapprefs 1.6.5, 9.21.1.0 on cataclysm 6.0.1 January 5th stable release
Ups just saw I'm in moto x here haha but I've got a Nexus 5 sry
