Gallery2.apk not included in /syste/app Camera must be installed either from another ROM or third party. I installed Nokia Camera and works fine (see the latest image of screenshot), except gallery error after rebooted the system.
Brief review
1. Installed ROM as instructed in OP, rebooted the system and system works as it should be. Since user apps have not yet been installed, system running fast and smooth as usual.
2. Tweaked build.prop: dalvik2cache script (dalvik.vm.dexopt-data-only=0), in order to move [email protected]*.dex files from /data/dalvik-cache to /cache/dalvik-cache and enable soft keys in navigation bar (qemu.hw.mainkeys=0). Rebooted the system and it works just fine. However, dexes still occupy /data/dalvik-cache. Need to be removed manually and gained plenty of free space (ca. 180 MB) in internal memory (/data) afterward.
3. Link2SD works, no headache, since it's fresh installed . However, restoring apps using TB, even a single app took minutes or failed. Will explore further.
4. No need to flash GappsLight. Google services files are already included in /system/app-priv. Simply installed the latest gmscore.apk, login into G server and all G services (incl. Playstore) works as it should be.
5. Will try PA features and report it later. At least floating window works like a charm. Hover? looking how to enable it.
Thanks to our great dev @rhar**** for bringing PA 4.4.3 to our obsolete device :good:
EDIT:
And of course, many thanks also to Olivier. :good:

Thanks a lot for your review.
The gallery and camera were excluded because of /system storage issue.
And to enable hover, open the notification and you'll find a different icon near the quick settings. Just tap that and there you go!

Thanks for using my sources but not mentioning me anywhere at all. As you certainly know, I have forked and patched some of the PA repos to make AOSPA run better on our ARMv6 devices and this took me some time.
Why I know that you used my work? You starred one of my repos some days ago and the build number in the Screenshot is hardcoded to "KTU84M" (should actually be "pa_p500..." and so on.
Think about it.

I just don't know how I forgot to mention your team!
I'm really, really sorry for that :crying:
Yes, I did use your repos, but had to edit things too to make it work on my phone, like Wallpaper, etc. But the main credits goes to you and your team.
And yea, I was myself wondering if the build no. is correct or not.
Again I'm sorry for not mentioning you

Weird!. It works for me . When you click the download file (zip), yes the browser will open a new window of advertisement or something likes that. Simply kill it and main window is downloading the zip file.

I'm not able to install Gapps, I flash them but after a reboot they aren't in! Tried with GAPPSlight and Banks, also tried to flash them with a different recovery (TWRP 2.7.1.0).
P.S. the ROM runs really fast and seems stable, more than other KitKat builds, thanks a lot

Additional review
Issues:
1. Google + 4.3.1 from @Notonlyeyes can't not be installed , while it works fine on OMNI (Beta7) :good:
2. Spirit FM (Nov 16) doesn't work. Duh. It works like a charm in Beta7. No need BT
With those issues, prefer Beta7 for my daily driver. Features enrichment on Beta7 can be done using Xposed modules :good:
Reverted to Beta 7 :good:

I don't know about Google+ but spirit has issues because of drivers.
For that, Omni's kernel is great. The only issue it has is offline charging. So, I'm thinking of making a kernel compatible with both cm and aosp (the source)

Just to let everyone know, installing Google Apps completely broke it for me. Setup Wizard and com.android.google.gapps kept force closing over and over, couldn't use it at all. Also it kept nesting my internal storage under a 0 folder every time I reflashed. So before I returned to CM10 I had sdcard0/0/0/ with all my stuff under that last folder, which made it difficult to restore my nandroid backup...

Any way to get GApps to work correctly? Everything seemed to go fine when I went without it. Maybe it was the zip I was using? I was only able to find one GApps package, they don't seem to be hosted on the CM Wiki any more.
My hero
Thanks epinter you are my hero!
Amazing work, will try it right now and report asap
UPDATE:
using CWM, flashed rom then gapps from goo.im/gapps (the 4.2 version), then wipe + reboot.
got through intro wizard fine, gapps seem ok to me, wifi and phone all ok as well so presume its as epinter sais it is on his site, excellent

I didn't try yet, but I'm almost sure it will not work. The display code in the kernel was changed, and the display libraries upgraded. When I have time, I will test and try to make a version for safestrap.

General Notes:
- Root can be enabled in development settings --> root access --> set it to Apps and Adb. if it doesn't work, set it to sething else and then set it back to Apps and Adb
- Google has now selinux build in. Users who will flash another kernel which does not match googles selinux (eg the kernels have cm's selinux or not selinux at all) will lose root!!!!! Only way then to get root back is to flash either superSu from chainfire or superuser from koush as standalone package.
- Please flash only 4.3 gapps. All other will end in keyboard fc, no back button etc etc
best
best alpha version i ever used :good: :good: :good:
keep up the good work
I've been used this alpha version for the last two days.
and I just wondering, why they call this alpha version while I never found any big issue... It's just smoother than 4.2.2..
Thanks Slimbean team for this great Rom..

I'm using the alpha 4.3 and having a strange issue. Every time I receive a voicemail, I am also getting a text message as well as the voicemail indicator. This never occurred using 4.2.
Any idea how to shut this off. Other then that slim 4.3 was great.

If I recall correctly, this can be flashed on the nexus s and the difference is that 4g won't work right? WiMax is a thing of the past in my town.

whoa, great work!
Can i see the source? i'd like to know the patches, current device tree and blobs used to make this work
i'm sure many others would like to know as well! Thanks a lot tchaari
4.3 is much smoother & responsive than 4.2.2! :good:
but still takes up a lot of ram

MultiWindow Bugs and Usage
=================
Right now in order to get it to work, you have to have at LEAST two apps open at once. After that you go to your recents panel and long press on an application which will dropdown a menu asking you multiple things one of them being to add to split view. Select that and then add another the same way. I'm sure this will get better with time so just bear with bugs for now...
If you try to add an app to split view without having more than one app open then the SystemUI.apk will force close. Also one other thing if apps don't work the way you want in that I'm sorry but that is not up to me to fix XpLoDWilD is working on it and so any bugs you have should be submitted to OmniROM through the link above. Happy Testing!
Be Advised:
=================
- Root access is not included by default as of yet. Please flash SuperSU for root (See below).
- Feel free to leave your bug reports in this thread or on the bugtracker.
- OmniROM is still in its very early stages, so bugs are to be expected. Be patient.

Thanks so much Sam! I've been trying for a few days to do a build of my own, but can't seem to get wifi working correctly. I'm a complete noob. Any chance you could help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?
Does it have the ability to change the Navigation buttons? Like instead of having Recents, I could put Menu there instead?
Thanks for the work.
Greetings.

This didn't restore all of my apps like most roms do once you sign into Google. Did I do anything wrong? Anyone else experience this?

Can you explain this further? Did you flash the rom and then gapps before first boot?

I was just about to create a Thread with my build
Did you cherry-pick the WLAN Fix ?
Right now there are barely any "new" features in 4.4 OmniROM :-/

Nope haha I had to use a patch from the old drivers... It took like a week to figure out! Haha The thing is, I'm not gonna build a cherry picked omni rom unless people really wanted me too... I'm trying to learn how to include features from cherry picks but I'm still new at ROM building so that may be a little ways off...

Yes, I did. And then logged into my Google account during setup like usual. After the ROM boots for the first time, I usually see all of my apps restored from the Play store. This usually takes 15-20 minutes, but it is automatic. It didn't happen at all after I installed this ROM.

I flashed Pengus M1 norh kernel. Boots OK.
Try it at your own risk.
So much drama over nothing... Stop bashing the OP please
OK. Trying to understand how this ROM is...
-Old bootloader.
-No Kowalski Kernel.
-No Wi-Fi Tethering.
One doubt, the Gapps available for download, are they non neon Gapps?
Good luck for your project.

It's basically Temasek build 93 with some pirated apps included.
Flash first, then comment. Or don't flash at all. To quote the OP: not worth the time.

At the end of my post, I mentioned a question.
If you have an answer for it, than I appreciate.
If you don't, let the OP do it if he can.
I need the phone working right now with Google apps.
BTW it's not up to me nor you to say if it's worth the time.
Specially if maybe you didn't flash it.
Remember flash then comment!
Peace...

I converted the ROM to NewBL and installed it. Didn't boot. Then I reinstalled (always full wipe) and also flashed Pengus M1 (with and without ramhack). Upon booting, there was an FC message from Lucky Patcher. Off to a good start, eh? At this point, I decided not to flash GApps. If you need a working phone right now, I highly recommend the work of carburano (Adios Amigos is a truly fine ROM); Pengus ('Look Ma!') or anything by tonyp.
I'll leave it at that. If you want more information, I suggest you make the effort to convert and flash, errr…'Smasher' (tip: remove spaces from filename before converting) and find out for yourself. Or you could wait for the OP's next update which I'm sure will be just perfect.
Far be it from me to report this thread to a mod, although I do wonder what this unoriginal work is doing here in the Development forum.

[ROM](Unlocked)(KITKAT) Plain AOSP for Xperia T

Code:
*** Disclamer
Please only flash this ROM if you know what you're doing!!
I take no responsibility for bricked devices, marriage breakdowns,
worldwide recessions or acts of God.
Introduction
Hi
I was in two minds whether or not to release this!! It's nothing new, just plain AOSP. It does try and address a few small issues that affect other AOSP based ROMS. For example, the speaker whistle and issues with the Google Camera force closing.
The ROM doesn't have any features that are not included in AOSP except for the addition of Gapps and the Superuser app.
It's a great base if you like using the xposed modules to add you own features, or if you like things light, fast, plain and simple.

I think we all know what AOSP looks like!!!
Features
Completely stock AOSP with the addition of Google Apps and SuperUser App.
Working:
All core and important functions of the ROM - WiFi, Bluetooth, RIL, Mobile Data. Camera etc.
Not Working:
Nothing I know of, tell me if you find anything!!

I've been using this for some time now and I love it: fast, simple and it perfectly integrates with gravity box and all its customizations!
Plus, it is REALLY the first AOSP rom 100% speaker-whistle free for me! wonderful! :good:
(new google camera also working perfectly )
many thanks to you and of course to @tilal6991 also who made this possible with his great work for omni!
ps. I'm honored, but please remove me from the contributors, I just did some testings!

no bluescreens, it uses new omni kernel/base.. screen added in my previous post (btw just AOSP + gravity box + xposed gel settings for google launcher customizations )
only small bug I encountered so far: the 3G data connectivity symbol disappears sometimes, but I don't care too much (the connection is working anyway even if no symbol is displayed )

How did you manage to fix the speaker whistle issue and the Google camera FCS? I'll include the fix in Omni as well when I get the chance.

Reveal my secret code, are you mad!!!
Well, as you asked so nicely.
The Speaker Whistle was a simple fix. I modified the /system/etc/snd_soc_msm/snd_soc_msm_2x file. I changed it to force the bottom mic to be disabled during calls.
The Camera settings FC is due to the /system/etc/media_profiles.xml file. The Google Camera expects 6 entries in the MediaSettings array. Omni has 8 entries which causes the FC.
If I knew how I would have submitted these changes but my knowledge of Github is very limited I'm afraid..
Hope this helps?

Any ideas on battery life? Main reason for me not to switch to 4.4, is the battery life. OmniRom is great, except for the 3G drain, and other drain....
deleted didn't see change log sorry!
battery life
annyone ??
Gonna give it a try... Downloading ......
which kernel is the best for this rom?
Please do note that no other kernel (apart from Omni's because its probably close to identical) will work with this ROM. Unlike stock, AOSP based ROMs heavily modify the kernel so can not be swapped and changed.
