Hi,
Thank you for reading.
I have a HTC one that stuck on HTC logo. My question is, is it possible to backup files on my internal memory?
If i do a Hardreset, will my internal memory wipe?
Any help would be appreciate.
Best regards,
Oki

if you do a hard reset, no your files will not be wiped. If you do a factory reset then yes.
you can backup your files using a custom recovery like twrp
Code:
adb pull /sdcard/ C:\Backup

Hi, Thanks I manage to unlock bootloader and install twrp.
But /sdcard is empty?
Is that means all my files is lost?
except there is a TWRP folder there.
I never do a factory reset.
Please help me

you cant backup your files using a custom recovery if your bootloader was locked! Unlocking the bootloader wipe /data including the virtual sdcard (/data/media/0).
looks like you did not read the warning when prompted to unlock the botloader....

afaik, if you can't boot in the OS, you need at least ADB to pull files form your phone which require a custom recovery installed so an unlocked bootloader.

Help: I Wiped Everything

Good day. I am using viper one ROM and today I mistakenly wiped everything on my phone using TWRP recovery. So I can not boot my phone but I am able to enter TWRP. I tried to push ROM zip to phone using adb to data/media/0 but I cannot find the zip file anywhere, this is strange since the storage size on my phone showed in TWRP changes meaning the file is succesfully copied. My only choice now is use RUU which I never did before. I am coming from Samsung so HTC is new to me. I cannot run ADB sideload, it is stuck on starting when I do this.

I honestly never tried TWRP (though will do so in a minute or two, just out of curiosity), but did you try pushing the rom to /sdcard/ or /data/media/ (no 0)?
I'm downloading TWRP now, just out of curiosity :cyclops:
EDIT: ok, tried TWRP and it seems it does go to /data/media/0 as default, though it seems some files were hidden or I just overlooked them.
Anyway, try pushing to /data/media/ and then in TWRP use the "up one level" or whatever they called it, and you should see your zip there.
you can adb sideload in TWRP http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317986
I always just do adb push rom.zip /sdcard/Roms/rom.zip and it shows up fine.

How to install:
Extract boot.img from the zip and place it in ur adb folder
Reboot ur phone to fastboot mode
open command prompt and issue command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
Reserved
Doesn't work for me, after flashing boot.img phone doesn't boot, just boots into fastboot. Am I doing something wrong?
Did you flash the zip too, via recovery?

i was thinking of trying this have you found any problems ?
In my case I had to reflash the original boot.img, Phone just didn't boot, stuck in fastboot mode
how did you get the original boot image ? if I'm going to try I would like a backup plan
You can extract it from the zip file here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-mini-2/general/update-available-2-16-401-1-t2809200
post #4
Or you can do a backup with twrp and then restore the boot partition.

Thank you.

Still no fix? Looks like this phone hasn’t had any success...
I have tried this and everything works fine.
Sd card is mounted
Hi !
First, thanks for the work you did, but I've tried it tonight and SD card is still not mounted.
It's misunderstanding me, because you can see sd card in settings-memory but none of my sd card apps are starting.
Does anybody knows something about this ?
Thx !

I'm not shure what you mean with sd card apps. Did you try to install apps to SD card? Because that's not possible I think.
It's just for storing music, photo's etc.
I getting confused here, does the SDCard stop working with the new kernel build? Or do the apps installed in the SDCard stopped working?

Downloads
TWRP For P10 lite: HERE
ADB & Fastboot: HERE
The first step is to make a backup.
2. Download your Treble ROM, i recommend a GSI ROM.
In my case I'll be using Havoc-OS
Download: https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/rom-havoc-os-8-1-t3819050
3. Go into TWRP and do a FACTORY RESET and then reboot into fastboot.
4. The only thing you need to do now is flash the ROM, so get your downloaded ROM & extract the .img file from it (if there is no .img file and you see other files, flash via twrp).
On your PC open the fastboot command prompt and type
fastboot -u flash system <YourImageFileHere>
Click to collapse
After just type : "fastboot reboot" and wait until your phone boots into the system. You may need to flash google apps afterwards.
It is normal for the phone to reboot a couple times so be patient.
Congratz, your phone is not running a treble ROM with your stock ROM's vendor.

I just need backup Boot, System and data if i want go back to stock?
Bad idea to factory reset with TWRP, it doesn't do it clean enough.
You could get in serious problems by doing it, such as random apps crashing, sd unmounting and worse.
Safer option is to factory reset and wipe cache with stock recovery after every system flash.
I'm telling this from my own experience, I don't want people to mess up like I did :highfive:

Yes that should be enough, vendor stays the same anyway.. I recommend flashing roms designed for kirins cpus btw because there is a higher chance it will work

How to Flash the fastboot ROMs without wiping internal storage

Download the fastboot ROM that you want to flash to restore your phone unzip it and then change the flash-all.bat to flash-all.txt then open it. It will have a line that looks like this
fastboot -w update images.zip
Change it to this
fastboot update images.zip
Then close it and save. Change the file name back to flash-all.bat it will now flash the fastboot ROM without wiping internal storage. After that boot back to bootloader and boot phone to twrp and wipe only dalvikcache and data. You will keep all the files on you're phone flash twrp and flash you're new custom ROM gapps magisk the way you normally do. You will have to set you're ROM up again but everything on you're internal storage will still be there. I hope this helps people flashing on a/b devices.
Pretty sure it asks if you want to wipe the internal storage.
It never asked me if I wanted to wipe it just go straight through the process but that it doesn't reset the bootloader like the MSM tool and doesn't wipe internal storage it makes it easier to flash ROMs with the A/b partition. At the beginning when I first bought my McLaren OnePlus 6t I would have to put my music and all my files back on my phone and I have a hundred gigs of music so it was hard to flash a ROM now I can flash one everyday day or every other day. the only reason I even posted this was I couldn't find it anywhere online and then I remembered that if you erase something from the. Bat file it would not wipe so I took a look and figured it out figured I'd post it so that people with the OnePlus 6t would have this information readily handy.

Thank you very much about this topic. I will try this method for my OP6. I also face your problem about internal data. I have more than 100gb data in my phone and i don't want lost it's on every time i flash the phone. I hope everything ok after use this method.
AWESOME!!
Good to know.
Gonna try this on my oneplus 8 pro but the twrp is buggy atm and doesn't wipes data or even cashes, will have to find some fastboot commands to just wipe data and not internal storage, cheers
Can you please make a video tutorial, it will be great to understand...

You should enter EDL mode by connecting two test points at the back of your A2 lite and plug the USB. It all dose the magic.

TWRP 3.4.0 & Root
Root and absolutely working TWRP 3.4.0 from nemo-nemo!
Oreo & Pie
Features
In the new TWRP and Root installation method described below, there is no need to format the Data partition to remove the encryption.
Thanks to TWRP's built-in FB Encryption (File Based Encryption), the contents of the Data partition are available with encryption preserved. The folders on the external memory have the correct names and structure.
- Forced DM-Verity removal
- Forcibly removing the protection of Motorola Hab
- Now there is no need to sew additional decoders when installing TWRP and receiving Root or when installing custom firmware!
- Full access to Oem partition modification directly from the running system using Root Explorer, which previously was only possible with Root obtained through SuperSu.
Installation Instruction
1. Download archive with files for installation TWRP and Magisk Google Drive
2. Extract files:
- twrp-3.4.0-nash-nemo-nemo.img to the folder adb with drivers adb & fastboot ;
- twrp-installer-3.4.0-nash-nemo-nemo.zip, Magisk-disable-dm-verity-v20.4.zip to the SD Card..
This is a special modification of Magisk for Motorola devices. You can read about it here Link
3. Boot the phone in fastboot mode, connect it to a PC and perform the following commands:
Code:
fastboot boot C:\adb\twrp-3.4.0-nash-nemo-nemo.img
4. The phone restart in to Recovery.
5. Go to the "Install" section. Click on "Select Storage" button, select Micro SD card, OK. Install twrp-installer-3.4.0-nash-nemo-nemo.zip and Magisk-disable-dm-verity-v20.4.zip.
6. Reboot into the system.
Attention! Backup creation after TWRP and Magisk installation should be done only after full booting into the system. Otherwise restoration of the Data partition backup will be interrupted with an Error 255.

Well, this is understandable. This TWRP was created by 4PDA developers.

If you need a Root then of course yes.
