When will WE get the ok google everywhere feature? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Title explains it all.... My default language is English us and I have the latest version of Google search and the trick to get it to work (type ok google everywhere) is not working: what a letdown!
Sent from my C5303 using XDA Premium HD app

I think Ok Google everywhere is a 4.4 feature....
For 4.3 only works wher u're on google now or google search

did you talking about touchless control...

They clearly say: 4.3 and up

Launches for me but I need a dictionary.
Sent from my LG-P880 using xda app-developers app
Tells me that dictionary is not installed and then offers to download them from play store.... there are so many of them for about $4.5 each.

I'll try to extract apk for free dictionary from L9. Saw it already and it enables you to download one dictionary of your liking.
But in the meantime You can just select Cancel while it's asking for one and still use it (it'll connect with google translate).
Sorry I haven't written that piece of information.
thank you
Working on CM10, tested
After re-install V20A its working fine.
Ask for the dictionary in the begining but, maybe because had as default Korean...
I tried Polski, Português, English, and no problem!
Its great!

Do we have to pay for dictionaries? It shows me only the one from Google Play that we have to pay?
Guys, this is thing is nearly useless, if you have to get into so much trouble just to get it on your phone. Why don't you, go and grab form the Play Store the free Google Translate app that now, also offers the download of dictionaries for offline use???

For me was like install any other app... But you're not completely wrong. The only "if" is that QTranslator is kinda exclusive and Google Translate don't exactly fit the captured text. We need select the area more far away cause after it gets bigger. If we select the text just inside of the screen limits, after gets kind of zoomed and gets out of screen... But like you said, they're almost the same.

Problem With Google Now After Update

Hi everyone,
Have any of you had any problems with voice input in Google Now after the latest update to Google Search? I can see from the reviews on the Play Store that I'm not the only XZ owner with the issue, but I don't see anyone talking about it on here.
Rolling back to the version before makes it work again, I just can't see why it stops working in the update .
Nope that was the first thing I tried.

I have the same problem. Temporary fix is to turn off/close the app fully then relaunch it.
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
I haven't found any fix that works, temporary or otherwise just stick with the old version.
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
Same issue for me I think. Voice typing and voice search only work with older version.

here is how i got it taken care of.
Downloaded the new beta version of google map Here
the you download IVONA text to speech here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivona.tts&hl=en
next step download the voice from here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivona.tts.voicebeta.eng.usa.kendra&hl=en
once you downloaded both of them go back to setting and choose language input , go to Text to speech option and choose IVONA text-to-speech HQ
Restart Your phone and you are good to go.

Thanks! Just out of curiosity, why is the new Maps beta needed? Does Ivana not work with the current Maps version?
I did it when I was still on the latest version and for whatever reason didn't work for me so I downloaded the beta.
I think it should work on both of them

Everyone should be happy to know [at least I was!] Google did something right! Since Samsung screwed us over, Google released their text to speech engine on the Play store for anyone to install this morning. So just search for it in the store and you can be rid of the horrid Samsung voice for good!
Yup. Here is a link for the lazy

Nexus 5 launcher

Just installed the nexus 5 launcher publisher by droidlife.com. Starting the launcher just gives me an error: Google search was stopped. I think i have done it right, also installed New play services and search.
Any solutions?

Have read about 4.4 Kitkat Launcher at Androidpit.
They say when Google Search stop you must judt change language and change back.
But you need more than only new Launcher you need new Google Play Service 4.0 and new Google Search.
Sent from my Optimus 4X HD using xda premium
Play services and new Google search are already installed. I think the fix is just for the Google search app force close. But the launcher itself does not even start. I just get the error and then the stock launcher apears again.

Just search on google something like 4.4 launcher. Theres some sites that have the 3 apks for download.im using it rght now! No problems so far

Works on 4.3 ROMs, but not stock. You have to install all 3 apps. Just an update will do; no pasting to system/apps necessary.

Read this to find out why:
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/11/google-just-pulled-a-facebook-home-kitkats-primary-interface-is-google-search/
from my experience, it doesn't works on 4.1.2, only 4.2 and above
Really? The solution to this is right under this thread?! C'mon guys, read before posting. (Thread reported)
