Never relock your bootloader if your using a custom rom or recovery, so first of all, get it unlocked again.
which kernel did you flash ?

bulletproof kernel.. is there a guide to do that or can i follow the following one:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/how-to-unlock-the-htc-one-bootloader-xda-developer-tv/

I believe bullet proof is a sense only kernel, CM is an asop rom not a sense rom.
Just unlock your bootloader at HTC Dev,
Once its unlocked, you might get lucky and just be able to flash a correct kernel to get booting again, failing that you'll either have to flash a new rom or restore your backup.

Sorry that took long it now says unlocked. How do i go about install cyanogenmod again or do i have to install a stock?

Try flashing an AOSP kernel now, something like this one, hopefully after that your phone will boot back to CM.

is your backup a CM rom or a sense rom ?

yes the rom will still be there if it was only a factory reset, if you did an advanced wipe inside something like TWRP then it wont.
Factory reset just restores whatever rom is on your phone to the state it was at when you first installed it, ie you will just have to set it back up again with email addresses and passwords, carrier and country etc after it boots.

you will need to enter recovery, push or sideload it to your internal sdcard and then flash it in recovery.

can someone help me return my at&t one to stock?

I have been trying for a while, can't get it to boot. Someone posted a zip of the factory rom over in the at&t section, doesn't seem to want to flash. Not sure if it's missing something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Umh, you will return stock but the rom posted in your section will not work?

No, it doesn't work. It's from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270552
Downloaded the recovery, and at the bottom someone posted the stock rom. TWRP won't read the rom, and cwm will read it but after 3 seconds it reboots. He said he didn't test it, so something appears to be wrong with it.
Also tried flashing the stock recovery, and that just gives me a blank screen with an arrow in a triangle after a little while.
Seems a rom.zip problem.

I would suggest to achieve S-Off and then you could try another recovery.
And btw. most backups work for me, just sometimes backup of /system fails, but I can still restore the Rest
I am pretty sure that the bootloops accur, because every Rom you installed uses another kernel and your device is S-On, so you can't flash the boot.IMG within recovery

Error 155 means that you are trying to run the RUU on a phone with an unlocked bootloader.

i have found some where, will it apply to me?
You got that error because you were trying to restore a backup that uses the rfs file system on a CWM that only works with the ext4 file system. You can only restore a stock ROM with CWM 5.0.2.7. Here's a link

i tried 4EXT recovery as u suggest but no luck...
i successfully restore cm10.1 backup with CWM and now with 4EXT as well. while i made 2 of vipervivo ROM backup and both of them i cant restore, so it means it is the problem in ROM not in recovery??
i also made a stock backup and tried to restore with both CWM and 4EXT and same issue i faced with both, screen stayed on htc logo for few miniuets and then phone reboot to recovery mode by itself. now im almost 100% sure if i will install vipervivo again and will make abackup with 4EXT it wont be restore and will give a same issue "error while restore system"

Ah okay. I would then flash a custom recovery. You can access the bootloader correct? What method did you use to install the rom? Clean flash or wipe is when you erase all the phone's system files, leaving a blank slate for a new rom to be installed on, and should be done before installing a brand new rom to avoid any issues.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568662
This is the link to the recovery image I used, it's the latest clockwordmod touch recovery. Very easy to flash as long as you have fast boot setup correctly. Once you have a working recovery you should be able to try a re-flash.

Was the recovery still stock or was a custom one flashed? Which process did you follow to root the phone? Since you can't access the recovery at the moment is suggesting it is stock. A failed rom install shouldn't corrupt recovery

I'm not sure, since you have tried to flash another rom, a factory reset might not solve the issue. Trying shouldn't brick the phone but I can't say for sure, sorry!
The method looks similar to the one I used. Could you try following from step 6? but using a different recovery.img. I used the clockwokmod touch from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173863

Could you send me a link to the rom you flashed? Try downloading a different rom. As you can't boot a ROM your only option may be to use ADB to push a new ROM onto your phone's storage.

It may have been a bad download. There isn't really any reason for it to not work, although it does say on the page it "You need TRWP 2.6.3.3 custom recovery!"
Not to worry, you can flash it in no-time. Ok so just as before, just flash a new recovery (again) and use the latest image from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7/
This should allow you to install the rom as the developers intend. It is strange though, i've never encountered a rom where a specific recovery was needed.

[Q] 4.4.2 CM11, return to all stock?

I have an HTC One on sprint, running a CM11 nightly. While I liked it for a while, due to business aspects, I need to go back to iphone. I am just gonna trade someone I know for my HTC for their iphone. I guess what i was wondering is what is the process of returning it back to stock? They still want root access, just not a custom ROM. I'm S-ON, HBOOT 1.56.000, Radio, 1.00.20.1100, and OS 4.06.651.4.
I'd like a step by step process hopefully (not an expert on androids, more used to iphones). But i do have some experience with cmd. I was also wondering if I turn it back to stock, will i lose all of my data (contacts, photos, etc.) I know you lose apps, but when I flashed to CM11, I backed up with TWRP, and then had to use CWM, so i couldn't restore my contacts. I do have a backup of my original ROM before i went to CM11 in TWRP, but I had to flash to CWM, so I'm not sure if it's still there.
Also, if they wanted to keep the CM11 on it, would there be any problems switching phone numbers and whatnot on it? I'd assume not because it still has an IMEI, but just wanted to make sure.
Find a flashable zip of twrp and if you didn't delete it ur backup of ur stock rooted should work...u have to have Sprint base Rom to swap phones so NO cm11 will not work when you go to trade phones

I erased cache using adb, then booted up, restored my stuff, and it said successful, but it was on the htc logo. I tried again to the same thing. then i reflashed cm11 and it worked. did i forget to do a factory reset before i restored everything? it said it wiped stuff before it restored it.

after you erased cache did you flash recovery, then reboot recovery and restore a backup
when you are on the htc logo hold the power button down til it reboots and see if it goes past the htc screen
you don't have to factory reset to restore a rom just hit restore and select the backup

I flashed recovery, then erased cache, then rebooted to recovery, and restored a backup. when it said successful, i rebooted from there, and it vibrated on bootup, but stayed at the htc screen for a while. I held the power button and rebooted. same thing.

Try flashing the bell stock ROM, then Philz, then a custom rom. I assume your phone boots with the stock ROM properly and you receive no errors when flashing a custom ROM.

To clear something up -- does your phone boot after flashing a fastboot? If no, you need to format the internal sd and change it's mount point to /data/media (use Philz CWM to do all that) -- that's a common error after downgrading from a 4.2+ rom to a 4.1.2- rom.

Yep, just boot into recovery and make nandroid backup saved to the external sd before you flash anything (you risk wiping it accidentally if stored to the internal sd). That way if anything goes wrong all you have to do is boot into recovery and restore your backup.

Glad you got it to work. There are other great ROMs out there to use while we wait for the official KK ROM, if it ever comes.
