MOD NO LONGER MAINTAINED. FOR 4.4.4, USE THIS XPOSED MODULE: VolumeSteps+
This is a modded framework.jar allowing 30 volume steps instead of 15 by default. It works for music with external speakers, headphones and bluetooth.
From my first tests, it works fine. Tested on stock firmware .438 and .314 rooted & deodexed.
Instructions:
- backup first
- download the attached zip corresponding to your firmware,
- flash the zip in recovery,
- reboot and enjoy

I think No. This is just a fine tuning for volume setting. Min to Max with 30 steps.

Sorry for posting mod with 30 volume steps in near thread (with mods for .314 firmware). I edited framework.jar a couple of days ago and now decided to share it for everyone. I was creating the thread when you haven't posted update for .314 version here. I hope it's not a problem. Thanks and best wishes in creating mods.

I Asume 438 should work with 402, but im not sure since its a Framework file

It may work but I can not confirm for sure. I don't know if framework.jar has been modified from .402 to .438.

ok then, i think ill try to test that but for now ill have to wait till i get my Z2 back
i know alot of mods work on 438 from 402 simple because of the lack of changes but framework changes are always something to be cairful of
+1 for the CM11 version, tried using a few mods to get this and they haven't worked so far.

After applying this mod you can install apps with different signature like Xperia Z1 or newer Sony apps or custom themes, for instance the niaboc79's HeXaReD theme.

It might work for TX. If you use the leaked rom 4.3 for TX, try it and let me know if it works. I think it will.

Perfect!!! I just tried on my SXTX JB 4.3 deodexed (DaRk L0rD)... after flashing coming the bootup with update everything working then i installed HeXaReD v1.0 theme which need patched services.jar and its work perfectly!!!

1st forgive me for my bad English lets start :
im using eXistenZ Ultimate 3.0.0 and im happy with sound quilty and loud when playing any music file but when someone call me the sound not good and loud like playing music on walkman
the files on the attach will make it 100% as it should be.
download the attach
extract it by explorer i prefer ES File
you will get 4 file copy and replace them on this path /system/etc/ tfa98xx
after replacing reset the permissions for the 4 file again rw r r
reboot and be happy
i tested on eXistenZ Ultimate 3.0.0 without any other sound mod and i dont use v4a also so dont complain if u flashed another sound mod before

WORKING here also on existenz 3.0 , but still the ringing volume was higher before on the older RomAur , dont know is it rom related , or this messing up with the @niaboc79 Z3`s sounD Enhancement , but the ringing volume is 2 levels lower even with that patch , wich is working ,just saying

this mod depending on sony sound files which it is not in cm11 im like you hope someone can make cm11 sound like the stock if so i can make it

and for CM12.1.
Test it by myself and it working..so I'm sharing it with all..

can someone help me.. by mistakenly i deleted the original mixer_paths.xml file nd after flashing this mod everything went wrong and now there are no navigation keys, no notification showing. i also tried to flash the original mixer_path file but nothing helped me

If you using preroot lolipop rom try to flash it back.
Or extract the original mixer_path and replace it into system/etc. Don't forget change the permission before reboot.

Thats nothing to worry about.................... my friend
I personally use lcd density = 320 , so it is set to 320 in build.prop
just change it back to 480 which is default size and your phone will be back to its normal stock PPI

I don't know what is wrong, and here's my steps:
1. flash stock firmware via flashtool, wipe all.
2. flash kernel via fastboot ( fastboot flash boot 376_NO_SU.img ).
3. flash SuperSU via twrp, wipe cache/dalvik, and reboot.
4. flash deodexed patch via twrp, wipe cache/dalvik, and reboot.

However nothing is wrong until the patch installed, errors pop up after system starts up, and bluetooth cannot be switched on.

No, I have no plan to do anything else , neither do I have that amount of time.
I found out I cant use WhatsApp video call too
Chrome is having problem too sir.
Because I wanna use Bluetooth , I restore a backup using twrp to go back to without patch, and now I'm stuck in recovery , keep looping back to twrp even though I tried to boot system

That JAR file is the patched services.jar
Which is called the SUPERUSER MOD . you need to have root access to your SYSTEM and then use some file explorer to copy the JAR from and replace the stock one inside /system/framework/ folder .
then restart. You will be able to mod system APK from now on...

Seems it was superuser not in permissive mode brov..... Just use tha guide provided and make sure root access is allowed and permissive is active.
But im using @serajr method n it works... It is posted in his callrecording thread. Except camera unlocked dat fc on front camera.

Dude , dont be so sure that my MOD is not working.
first completely flash the FTF , then the patched stock kernel then SU, then flash the deodexed patch I made. then replace the camera APK.
If you still have probs then I am sorry for you coz so many others are using the MOD with out any problem whatsoever.
