Xperia T won't unlock/stay in fastboot/flash mode/MCAFEE pwned it - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

First of all, I don't have any knowledge on Xperia phones(Nexus 4 user)(had unlocked a se xperia neo v once but it pwned my brain)
Secondly, this idiotic 15 year old installed Mcafee and doesn't remember the password. I tried rebooting into recovery and doing a factory reset but it turns out Xperia phones don't have a recovery(??) (lame)
Thirdly, I clicked on 'forgot pin' on mcafee app when xperia boots, but it says I don't have an internet connection. THEN HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RESET THE DAMN PASSWORD?? (The sim has 600+ mb data)
Fourthly, oh my god who the hell uses such crap apps if they cannot even remember a password?

I think I got it. Managed to reset mcafee security but it won't get past lockscreen. And the kid can't explain through the phone(it's the son of my friend's friend) Thing is I will get paid for fixing it and installing CyanogenMod. So, it's urgent for me.

Maybe I could try using Google's own service for remotely wiping data? I will tell m friend to ask for his gmail, but the faster the better. I can't stand unresolved things.

I will try Sony Update Service with the LT30_9.2.A.1.205_CH.rar thing
Wow you guys are fast, thanks for helping! /s

No root and I don't believe the kid has enabled usb debugging. Plus, I cannot get past the screen pattern as he cannot explain it (he's Ukrainian and I'm Greek, so I need my friend to translate) I have downloaded the Sony Update Service but it doesn't list Xperia T under the devices. I also got an .ftf file which I don't know what to do with it.

By sony update service do you mean Sony Pc Companion? when i broke my T(rooted) without access to recovery and, before i learned about flashtool i used Sony PC Companion's support zone to repair phone and install stock ROM and so i had to root my phone again. If this DOES work for you here's the link to Flashtool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 or you can download DooMLoRD's easy rooting toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333577 . for rooting purposes. Hope this helps :good: Oh and keep the .ftf file, it''l be required if you choose to use flashtool after rooting
Ps. to enter Flashmode you have to keep holding down the volumeDOWN button while you plug in the phone.(Not sure, But the GREEN LED light will lightup. for fastboot it's the opposite, VolumeUP button.(BLUE LED) might have mixed up the buttons )

PC companion couldn't work because I couldn't get pass through the lockscreen pattern. The tried explaining it when my friend first contacted him but he didnt make any sense, he said. xD
I tried flashtool and downloaded latest firmware, everything worked awesome! I have disabled some apps as well as mcafee so he won't do the same mistake again. Thanks guys!
Back to my Nexus 4 goodness, oh my god that was a nightmare compared to samsung and nexus. xD

heheh, Glad i could help Bro

[Q] X8 bricked or not?

Help me (and my son and his X8) please!
My son rooted his X8, and at last it just shows the "Sony Ericsson" text.
He did the following (wrote to me ):
- root it with SuperOneClick
- reboot
- intsall RootExplore.apk
- reboot
- root.jag confused
- reboot
- install Xrecovery
- reboot
- update it to CMWrecovery
- made a backup to Sd card
- factory reset (accidentally)
- recover
- reboot
... and it doesn't work (bootloop? I just read it in this therads.)
What could he do?
Did he upgraded the baseband? to xx15?
Oh and if the device is not working, i mean, it cant turn on (just se logo and reboot) . He should repair his X8 with Sony Ericsson PC companion.
Cheers.
did you have baseband 015.if it is bricked you can use pc companion or seus (sony ericsson update service) it will probaly break the root because it is a manual update with sony ericsson but it should help
Thank you, we will give it a try.

Thanks. My son rebuild it with PCC to 2.1. It worked well.
And then he tried to upgrade it to 2.3, so it has gone to "can't turn on, because it turning off everytime", some panic, and he rebuilded it's with SEUS to 2.1.
I sad "now just relax don't try another root please",,,
So that's all.
Thanks a lot.

[Q] typical noob rooting problems (i guess) (i HOPE)

Hi,
First congrats on a great community! I have returned here for help many times over teh years and just got to thank you all for creating such an invaluable product!
Secondly, i have some problems after trying to root my xperia z...
I rooted using this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsh51O1ImMM
Using these tools (from vid description)
Link 1: Sony Xperia Drivers
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9...
Link 2: Easy Rooting Toolkit
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attac...
Link 3: Clockworkmod Recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showt...
So I didnt use one of your walkthroughs (sadly) as such, but tools come from here.
So I did everything that this guy suggested (i think) and then decided to flash this rom
Xperia Ultimate HD 3.0.2
from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920207
and followed instructions on aroma (i think)
And now i am left with my device showing teh sony logo only.
I cant seem to boot into cwm again. In fact when i attach to my pc, i get teh connected sound, but pc companion doesnt see my device.
I have tried all manner of holding up key and power key for many different times, but still it just stays on sony logo.
If you need any more info please do let me know, and thank you for your help in advance.
Hopefully my xperia z is not bricked?

PS if this has been answerted i cant seem to find it (i have tried some of teh similar q&a's that been posted around here) but am willing to be directed to somewhere i havent found yet

way ahead of you
im wading my way through as i type (well sort of), and have started to do teh first step of teh recovering xperia z/zl (teh one i asked if i should do) and just waiting for it to install now.
Hoping this works, and thanks again
(I will try not to decide to root new devices at 2am in teh morning in future as i guess my eyes closing by themselves and my brain switching off has had something to do with my errors lol :,( )
currently tried sus twice to no avail...
It may be due to my battery being low-although this is a guess as i have no way of telling how my battery levels are! I know it has been hooked up to teh charger for a couple of hours and that is usually more than enough, but when plugged in (from device being off (forced off by holding up and power for 7 seconds and releasing after it has vibrated 3 times) and from device being on (showing sony logo and a dull red led) ) it doesnt show teh usual battery charging icon..?
Could this be teh problem?
I am going to go ahead with second option (flashtool) in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2229250 if no one has any reservations??
is flashtool safe to use for me? I think my bootloader is still locked (tutorial i used says so)
thanks
Download flashtool and then one of the stock roms on offer in the forum. Should flash no problems.

Have a little read... You download 2 files.... The first you flash in flashtool.
Once done you have a recovery installed.
You put the second downloaded file onto your phone. From the recovery you install the second downloaded file.
Once done you will have latest Rom, recovery installed and it will also be rooted.
Take your time reading guide.
Another question, have you installed the driver files for the Z?

Add to this my kids running around and wife moaning that im 'stuck to teh computer on a sunday' and its getting confusing.

also, will this definitly work even though my phone doesnt show as 'charging' when plugged into mains,
and only showing teh sony logo?

Xperia TX bricked (only showing sony logo then a triangle with an exclamation mark)

Please help me guys, I have no one else to turn to. My parents are gonna kill me if they find out what I did to my phone.
So my phone accidentally fell at school with the bluetooth still on.So I put the battery pack, power it on, but then it started to go on a boot loop i.e.
Sony logo-->Xperia Logo-->color animation-->black screen. But after 3-4 hours, it managed to do a complete boot! But I noticed that the bluetooth wasnt turning on. So stupid me, I restarted the device, then it started to go on a boot loop again. I got home and I tried it a couple of times more with the power and volume rocker combinations... didnt work either.
I even started using pc companion. didnt work (kept on doing the same thing
SUS --> same thing
NOW: I tried it using a different computer so I went to an internet shop and downloaded pcc and sus. I started pc companion... but halfway through the download... MY PHONE RAN OUT OF BATTERY and didnt finish the update. :'( Now, whenever I'm booting the phone, I only get the Sony logo and A TRIANGLE WITH AN EXCLAMATION MARK AND A PHONE UNDERNEATH.....
PLEASE HELP ME! My Phone is a Sony Xperia TX Lt29
Last Version before the crash: JB 4.1.2

calm down.
Charge the phone until it is fully charged.
Download PCCompanion and do a fresh install of it.
Run PCCompanion and choose software update.
Use the option to repair your phone, then follow the instructions.
Let us know how you get on
PS
This will only do a software repair, if something broke because you dropped it (Which it sounds like) you are going to have to come clean and tell your parents to get it fixed.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY!!! really thank you :'(
I already did something with the phone because I've been doing a lot of searching on the net lately...
I reinstalled the software using Sony Update Service (SUS) and it booted normally! (but sadly it was only during the FIRST BOOT UP) when I turned off the phone to re insert the sim card and micro sd, It started doing it again... but then, after 6 or 7 tries, it managed to skip past the sony logo-->xperia--> logo-->color animation? and do another complete boot
Now I decided to go to settings and do a complete factory reset cause I thought it would fix everything... but it didn't. It started doing the same thing, and I had to give it 10 or 12 tries before eventually booting up again. When it booted up normally, I was even able to play music with it and change the settings like brightness, volumes, equalizers, and even arrange widgets!
SITUATION NOW:I turn on the Wi-fi and it's in a boot loop again and I'm charging the phone up to 100%
(i did the vol.up vol down power combination before charging)
gregbradley, is it because of our slow internet connection??? (it took me like 4 nerve racking hours to finish the update) but sus was able to complete the download and install the software... what the f*ck is wrong with my phone (((( ohgod
AND:
I'll follow your instructions when the charge is complete...... and I'll be back to you with the results.God I hope this works.Thank you again.
Have you tried only partially flashing part of an ftf file. I know when my phone was on the brink of death I discovered that if I only flashed part of an ftf using flashtool that it would work. I think I would check everything that has exclude (ie: Exclude System) and it would work for me. Its not the end of the world though as the phone does work. Just a bootloop. If you can get it into flash mode then just exclude everything except System, Kernel, and baseband if I'm not mistaken.

um... to tell you the truth, I have no idea how to partially flash a tft file, let alone flashing. O_O (see how noob i am?) its saddening. So am I in the point right now where my phone's problem is unsolvable via pc companion or sony update service??? Plus I've been doing some searching here on xda and I saw this thread about xperia TX users updating to version b 167 and that their bootloaders are now locked.
This is what my phone is exactly doing whenever I try to boot it up:
Sony Logo---->Xperia Logo----> Color waves animation?---> FREEZE-->black screen then the Sony Logo again.
Whenever I try to boot up for the 2nd time this happens:
Sony Logo----> Black Screen---> Phone turns off---> Sony Logo again
(((
You have flashtool yes? If you load up like you're going to flash a ftf file. Once you click to load up the ftf file it'll pull a menu where you pick what you want to flash. On the right side of flashtool that's where the exclude part is. That's where you have to check the *exclude option. The same thing happened to me when I accidentally flashed a T cm10 rom on my phone. I had to partially flash a ftf file to get it to boot. It should work but since you're not familiar with flashtool its going to make it a bit harder for you in the end. :/

just let it plug in with the charger and keep your phone on for day, usually that will fix it after a few hours with that logo running
Use a battery charger, charge for at least half the entire batt and then follow the thread on flashing, download some files while charging to minimize downtime

[Q] SIM-card(s) not readable

I've got a more or less big problem. My Xperia SP cannot recognize, that my SIM-card is inserted. If I turn it on it doesn't ask for the PIN and furthermore I can't receive or send SMS's, I can't receive calls or call somebody and I haven't got mobile data. I tried to insert my SIM-card in another sony phone and it didn't work. I also put another working SIM-card in my phone and it also couldn't recognize it. I think (I'm actually sure) it's caused by the non-functional phone apk, but maybe also the SIM-card is broken.
What shall I do? I have a TWRP backup, but I'm not 100% sure, whether it is from before or after. What is a less- or non-risky possibility to replace the phone.apkor is there a better method to repair the phone?
edit: I found out, if my phone is turned on and I remove the SIM-card, it realizes it, and reboots.
Please help me!
???
Sorry, but why is my post ticked with a hook??? The problem isn't solved yet!

First of All thanks for your reply. But I already took another SIM-card (which on Xperia L works fine) and put it into my device but there were the same problems. Yesterday I downloaded the SemcPhone.apk file, pushed it to /system/app and changed permissions to rw-r--r-- and rebooted. Then it asked for the PIN but after unlocking I got a bunch of Force closes and they didn't stop.. Even after rebooting again I had the problem, so I deleted the apk file again. But it's now the same like I described there above :/
Reflash ROM.. You have phone.apk problems aswell so this should fix it
Okay.. And the stock ROM, is this the "Deodexed stock ROM" (777MB) from android development or the "normal" stock ROM (odexed) (12.0.A.2.245) also from android development section?
No, to prevent any issues just open Sony Update Service (can be downloaded from the Sony website) and "restore" your phone..
So go back to full stock
Okay cool thank you I'll try it

Okay, then I'll do that
:/
I tried it with PC Companion but when it had to start repairing and it booted the phone into flashmode (I think so, because the LED was green) and then PC Companion said: "The phone contains modified software, which cannot be updated" and below "Error 2003" ..
I tried it 2 times and both the same :/
My phone has unlocked bootloader, is rooted, and has the DoomKernel, no custom rom.

Well that is unfortunate. You need to relock bootloader and reflash with flashtool.
You cannot use Sony software with unlocked bootloader

Oh! That's actually bad. But then I first have to flash back the stock kernel, then relock bootloader, repair with PC Companion and eventually unlock Bootloader again if necessary for me, right? Just for being sure.
Yes correct you need stock kernel then lock bootloader, then re flash/repair phone

Ok good. Now the last question: from where can I get the right stock kernel? I found a post from DoomLoRD, where he wrote, that you have to flash stock kernel.sin and no FTF kernel but I couldn't find a stock kernel.sin and in another post from alivanov79, alivanov79 posted a link to an FTF kernel. So Do you know which one is the right one?

Hello! I hope you're still alive!
I am facing the same problem, but before I start doing stuff, may I know if your problem has been solved?
My Xperia SP as well on occassion doesn't detected sim card. Sometimes when I need to make phone calls the most, it starts to do it. I am planning to send it for warranty, as I am having another 20 days before the warranty expires.
Surprisingly, many Sony Xperia models users have experience of having a phone that doesn't read SIM cards. Google reveals it all.

Hey,
yeah, I'm still alive
So, the thing is, my problem there had been caused by myself, fiddling around with some root stuff, so it hadn't been my phone's fault.
But what I did is I just flashed another ROM because I didn't see another solution and it really drove me crazy not being able to use the SIM card related functions.
Well, keeping your post in mind I don't think you'd like to flash another ROM (I probably shouldn't have done that, too).
So if you didn't already try to repair your phone with PC Companion, that'd be the first thing, I'd do in your case.
Otherwise I'd send it for warranty as you considered it already.
Yeah, my sister's Xperia L also has that problem and that's really unfortunate.
So I hope, my "advide" could help at least a bit although there may not be plenty of hints, but yeah.
If I shocked you with that essay I'm sorry, too

Lol I don't think ROM flashing is the root problem, as I have been using CM11 for a month (and maybe more). The problem starts appearing lately..
I will flash stock ROM and relock bootloader and then reflash stock via PCC to see if it will fix the problem
Anyway thanks for the reply!
No, that's not even something to be called "essay"....

Z1 problem, need a magican

Download flashtool (just Google it)
Install it and the drivers which are contained in installation directory. If you use Windows 7+ then additional steps are required to install drivers. Its very easy again Google it
Download ftf file for your Xperia Z1
Be sure to download correct version of ftf. Check the model number of z1 and download it
Its recommended to keep battery charge atleast 40%+.
Now open flash tool switch off your phone
Click on the lightning symbol on top left of your screen and select flash mode and click ok
Browse through and select downloaded ftf file and wait for a dialogue box with phones animation to appear it may take some time to extract ftf file so be patient.
Do as dilogue box says and done..!!
