I've actually been a member and rec dev on xda for longer than ive been a member on AF . i just prefer the community there and staff is always very helpful, the mods are always hopping in and helping when no one else replies.

Great to see first steps! I'm really excited about this!
Has Motorola already released the kernel sources for the 4G version?
Best regards!

Hmmm don't know, thread is closed: https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/issues/1

https://mega.co.nz/#!IB5WWYrD!3wLvz2A8yFWJb6LvATWHvYM47LqCrmerhAlleCtP0Q0 someone mind testing for sdcard?
edit: nevermind, confirmed working sdcard. thanks to Nupich for the fix. this is a modded version of the 7/16 build as current sources are a massive mess and wont work well.

So basically what are the remaining bugs ?
Envoyé de mon XT1039 en utilisant Tapatalk

well that build was compiled from source and then slapped on with some fixes, im trying to compile now and see where we stand. build #8 over at phandroid has the audio fixed in it as well. i dont know if that fixes headphone issues or not.
@op mind changing the download links to just point to the thread?

ok so i have source building and booting again, audio is fixed but sdcard is now back to being non-mounting. i think the dts files may be the cause of that though so im uploaidng my kernel source to github cuz last time i confused teh **** out of somcom3x trying to remember what source i used and what i edited etc, so now it will just be easier .
anyways there are some hardware differences between the two devices, so with that in mind i need to get a copy of the stock rom and compare libs and try to filter down to which ones need to be added to make it so someone can grab my device tree and its dependencies and build whatever rom they want. im not going to be building anymore carbon builds as @Somcom3X is a team member for them and is more than capable (plus he has far faster internet). ill probably do a slimkat build though for those of you who really dont like cm
edit: build 7/30 # 2 is posted, someone mind shooting that down for a test? looking to see how audio and sdcards are holding up

work well sd card is good i think i could use this daily driver i will test some more but so far works good thanks for the great work

I have a Sandisk 32GB class 4 which never worked in stock but works perfectly in 7/30 # 2
A 16 GB class 4 Patriot was working fine in stock until yesterday when I received a 'sd card removed' message. I found out later that the card is no longer recognised in Windows; i.e. it was trashed by the phone running Motorola's flawed OS. Thanks, Moto!
Haven't tested the audio / headphone stuff yet but I'm very happy that the formerly unusable 32GB card now works in my phone. Not too shabby, @shabbypenguin !
edit: apologies for posting in the wrong thread but, since I'm here: audio playback is very choppy, skipping continuously. Everything else seems to be great. Approaching 6 hours screen time on the first full charge with 15% remaining (!)
mods, please move to the discussion thread if necessary.

What about the other languages? Can somebody post the screens of system language settings with the list of languages please? I'll appreciate that.
Thank you very much

In the actual thread over at androidforums. i requested this thread be closed since it isnt being properly maintained, but i was told no point in locking it when it will just die out either way.

You should open a new one it would be easier to follow the development of the ROM

I guess that makes some sense. The real question - is what we have, good enough for CyanogenMod to accept the trees as official?

May not look like there is much going on, but it's the holidays, I've been busy with my family. Theres also a lot going on in the background. I finally got an awesome build machine. Quirks
This rom does not come with a SetupWizard. You need to manually add your google account under Settings > Add Accounts, or by just opening up the market and signing in.
Your SD does not mount ot the PC like normal, so you need to use gscript. Ive already included the scripts, you just need to run them.

Hacked together ramdisk. A "ramdisk mish-mash" if you will.
Pulled relevant files from CM. libs, /usr.
ril from ID.
We're lucky in that we're not the the first devs to port it. The Evo build helped us fix:
keys, lights, lcd density... more stuff that I don't know what it QUITE does, but I pulled it anyway.
Grab gapps from CM. I'll get a link up. Link: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version
Scroll downnn. Far right. Clicky.
EDIT: Do a full boot of the ROM. THEN flash Gapps WITHOUT WIPING. After Gapps flash, do NOT wipe anything.
IN OTHER WORDS, DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING AFTER INSTALLING THE ROM (unless you're about to install another).
r2DoesInc is downloading my build now. Once he's all good, I'll post link.
And now, for the main event. What you've all come to see... the LINK!!
Wait, I lost it. Haha, okay, here it is. The LINK!!!!

Are these bootloops occurring on the device, or are you using an emulator to test it before you try it on hardware?

Thanks guys for taking this on. If you have read the threads you probably already know that this Inc forum is a pretty harsh place. I am not sure why but it seems like there is more name calling, belittling, hating and dev bashing here than any other forum I have been on.
All I can say is keep your heads up, ignore the haters/bashers and know that the majority of us appreciate the work you put into these projects.
THANKS!
This place is rarely like I can think of very few instances where that happened and I read this forum a lot.

[P6800][ROM](Update 07/23/12) QuickSilverCM 0.3 - Full CyanogenMod 9 + Tweaks

QuickSilverCM - CyanogenMod 9
This ROM is now rebased to locerra's CM9 sources. I fixed Bluetooth, removed a few Apps and added Chrome and init.d as well as build.prop tweaks. It can be flashed directly over HC or other ROMs as it is bringing its own kernel along but a wipe is most likely needed if coming from another ROM.
What does not work
- Video Hardware Acceleration for some Video types [I fixed a lot of the codecs and ported over missing hardware ones from the Stock, but there are still a few left non-working. Please use BS Player or VPlayer. MxPlayer removed a lot of stuff in their newest release because of licensing issues and ATM it is for example not able to play DTS Audio (which breaks most of my mkv files). It also seems to have problems with mp3 encoded audio tracks. I use BS Player, because VPlayer crashes, but both play all files I threw at them just fine. For streaming BS Player is best, because it is the only one with really working LAN browse capabilities. With most of the new Version of those players you do not need to care about the Codec,]
- Front Camera Recording (Does not crash anymore, but does not work either, because something in the settings format changed, that needs to be fixed)
- Bluetooth A2DP [from reports seems still not fixed]
- Mass Storage over USB Adapter (working on it)
What works
- Everything else AFAIK
Installation
- Make a Nandroid
- Download QuickSilverCM and Gapps (Gapps here)
- Boot into recovery
- !!!WIPE!!!
- Install QuickSilverCM first
- then Gapps
- reboot
- Have fun with your bloatfree GTab

I dont want to sound negative or ungreatfull, but why release something when it's not fully functional. The items on the "not working" section seem to be important. If i where the developer, by the way i am not nor do i know code but IF I WERE,i would release it only when the major items are 100% working. I have flashed both original Samsung Galaxy S and original Galaxy Tab many times in the past, and have found that no custom rom is 100% fully functional. I appreciate the innovation but many times i have found it to be more of a pain than an improvement. I am running ICS and after this update i am looking forward to hopefully get JB for the Google Now function. Even if ICS source code is release and someone manages to cook something up with the already released JB source code there will always be something that does not work 100% no matter how hard one tries. I have come to the conclusion that only official firmwares are the way to go. Nevertheless good luck and keep up the good work. Once again not trying to be disrespectfull, that was not my intent. If i have disrespected anyone i appologize in advance but i believe i may not be the only one to think this way.
Sent from my GT-P6800 using xda premium
Because some of us actually like to tinker with this kind of stuff regardless of what does or doesn't work and which he clearly posted.
Every phone has CM9 threads and none of them are 100% functional as of yet.
Nice job on the release. :good:
Can i restore data from cwm after flashing this rom?
Sent from my GT-P6800 using XDA Premium HD app
WHy release a beta ? Well, because the community willl help make it final. Should the op really go through all scenario's himself?
That would take valueble time, otherwise well spent on other things. It's a community thing, you get it, or you don't
I really liked your previous quicksilver efforts, so I'll probably get this, but as an Android newbie, can someone answer a question for me. If I'm going to be running Apex Launcher anyway, what benefit does CM9 bring over a more minimal rom?
can i flash it on my 6810?

What did you do to fix this? Just use the stock kernel + modules? Neither of your links are working for me so I can't look at what you did.
- 3G
- Camera (front/back)
- Gyroscope
- Rotation
- Calls (But UI is broken ATM, so you are not able to hang up a call)
What does not work
- Bluetooth (working on it)
- Automatic Backlight dimming

Probably as simple as using /system/lib/hw/lights.exynos4.so from the stock rom. I haven't gotten around to fixing the opensource liblights for the PX boards.
- A few minor crashes in Settings -> Storage
- Mtp (also working on it)

Good luck with that, samsung implemented their own MTP driver in the kernel that they use, but you have to use the ASOP MTP driver to work with CM.

Hello, I'm slightly noobish with some aspects of Android but here is my issue: I did exactly as the installation guide instructed, and I can't get the manager installed. Same app recommended, managed after couple of hours to get the files on my Nexus 5, run as SU, but says options can't be found. it lists them, but follows with saying they are not in the folder or available. And i can't manage to enter the command.
If this is major nooblike text just take it easy here and help me out.
Hey guys! This might be a dumb question, but does this mod have any potential for conflict with the dalvik and bionic mod, listed here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537299?
I ask, because I'm thinking of compiling an AOSP build with both mods baked in, and I want to be aware of potential pitfalls. Thanks for any/all feedback, and thank you for (what appears to be) an excellent mod.

Hi jjhiza,
No issue between both mods (I've tested), it's two different things.
You can test by yourself before if you want, you just need to edit the build.prop and add manually (at least more convenient for me than running the script) the different lines from the script here or from the source link and flash the Dalvik/Bionic patches.
About the real improvement of this mod (I mean this Adreno Catalyst mod), I let you judge by yourself...

The Script is still in Alpha, which means the code is compiled and the base features are existen but i cant get it to execute its main features without hiccups, im going to rebuild it now to see how it goes...

Hey guys! This might be a dumb question, but does this mod have any potential for conflict with the dalvik and bionic mod, listed here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537299?

[DEV] Porting CM10.2/CM11 to i9506 [UPDATE 13.02.2014, KK open source files released]

We desperately need a custom ROM for this model as well, since it's taking over for the i9505, at least here in Norway and Germany. But i guess many other countries as well. My idea is to port a CM10.2/CM11 ROM for this, as the Samsung source files probably will be more compatible with that, than CM11 at the moment.

Yeah, i was thinking the same, but here in Norway the i9505 is actually more expensive, even though it is older/slower! When i saw the CM Guide + that i have been building LX Optimus 4X HD ROM's lately using Github source, i thought i'd give it a try!
Hopefully more people will help!
I suggest to look into Note 3 (SD800 version) forum for CM availability and port it to I9506 if it exists. Basically, Note 3 and i9506 are the same devices.
You will save a lot of time if you port CM from Note 3.
P.S.: I'm happy with TouchWiz custom ROM and "hand-made" kernel. Never looked into CM possibility.
i assume the note3 kernel would probably work with some modifications
i9506 doesnt have many devs so it would take a while

But what else do we have to modify than the Kernel? I found a Note 3 repository in CyanogenMod @ Github and forked it..
https://github.com/faabak/android_device_samsung_ks01lte
But i think it's missing some files.. Have changed the codename in the files to "ks01lte", but i guess it's more we have to do. Downloading CyanogenMod CM11 sources now on my Ubuntu machine..

Hi o/
I'm on it too, I've downloaded the kernel sources from Samsung's open source website so it should at least boot (even without modules like camera, bt, ..)
Currently the problem is that there are misconfigurations in their kernel resulting in undeclared/undefined errors, so it will take a bit longer than I expected to get a fully compiled ROM. Or maybe it's only because I'm trying to build CM11
btw, I have a ks01lteskt device, is it the "mainstream" one or do I have a special model ? Can you check too guys ? ^^
Edit : does removing TARGET_OTA_ASSERT_DEVICE is enough to let the recovery install it with a different device id ?
Keep on men! really we want CM for that great device!

Compiled ! But I can't get it to work...
The Samsung logo show up, then it says that it is a custom kernel, then freezes a few seconds and reboot...
Any clue ?
I think you better ask on cyanogen dev thread

Wow, this is awesome.. If we can make this running, i hope it's OK for you if we use this thread for it, and i will add all the information, screenshots, version history, updates etc in the first post!
This is a big step anyway.. Have you been into github at all? Cause then you could perhaps make a repository there and more people can compile (including me, since i've compiled a lot lately)!
Also, perhaps it would be clever to post a topic here regarding the boot problems!

Ok, everything should be here now : https://github.com/dridri/android_device_samsung_ks01lte

Some news !
I finally got the kernel booting and working, the cyanogenMod loading logo now shows up but enters in bootloop. The new problem is that adb is detected as 'offline' and I can't debug anything

Try a later version of adb? I had this offline with stock rom and older adb.

Yeah, i remember i hade some problems with older versions of ADB on my LG P880 as well! So let's just cross our fingers that's the problem..
Thank you guys I can now access adb and see the loading errors !! (And the only things I see is missing lib files, hope that adding them will be enough :3 )
Okay guys, got it working, I can boot CM 11 !!!
But there are still major problems : everything lag, the baseband is unkown, SIM card not recognized, wifi and bluetooth doesn't work, no audio at all xD
EDIT: baseband, RIL, SIM card and LTE network now works correctly !

Everything works like expected. Ty for opening a thread for this! Hopefully we get the ne sdcard fix working. After this I will switch completly over to the Moto G. For now its just a 2nd device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/moto-g-lte-4-4-4-xt1039-ota-update-21-t2847104
Some apps for example, SoundCloud and MusiXmatch have some serious lag in usability of the app and volume control. However Google Play and Poweramp seem to be fine.
Please can you update to latest PA source? And add option for edit navbar (size only). Ahh! This option is missing in the rom, you can add?
The ROM is smooth and faster, no have important bugs, good work man!
My apologies for the lack of an update. Work has gotten unexpectedly busy, will sync sources this morning (I work late nights) and try to get a build out later today (5 or 6 pm EST)

Have you tried any of these things link
Side note might be dropping this project, made a test build of LiquidSmooth (no wifi & no camera) and I like it a lot better so I may be focusing my efforts there.

Well thanks for the help I Judy got it my stock room was 4.4.3 and I needed to update. I also did that link before you posted and it did work. But it could have been both. Kitkat is so sick with a phone that can handle it. I'm coming from obsolete droids and my last one had kitkat but that's all it could run because of resources.

My last phone was a g2x...develpment stopped on that with gingerbread. One of the first dual core phones in the us and no support from LG, made for some upset people. But they did with a class action suit against LG because of it.
Does anyone else have a problem with GPS? My actual GPS does not seem to work.

It's mentioned here, just not sure if it's implemented at the latest one.
As we just did a little update a few days ago, the change log is not that long for this version bump, but here goes:
Introduce Dynamic System Bars
Introduce the swipe-up gesture to dismiss Hover
Get rid of possible slowness during I/O on the stock kernel for hammerhead
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55194330&postcount=53
I know, but I wasn't able to find where I can activate this. And currently I have different ROM on my phone.
