Flash the new TWRP 2.7.1.1 version via your current TWRP 2.4 recovery. It's simple and better than flash with Odin

But what file should I flash? .img? or .tar? And it's like installing any zip? Thanks BTW.

You need a .zip file. You can get the latest TWRP version from novafusion.pl/downloads. Download the latest version and flash it via recovery.
Don't forget to download it for your recovery and not for Odin

It worked, thanks!

hey mate, well i have 2.6..3 one and do you think is it necessary to upgrade to 2.8? im just planning to flash cm11 ROM tho.

1. use latest TWRP from Android-Andi (recommended)
2. flash slim from Android-Andi, omni from golden-guy or Vanir ... less bugs and weekly updates

thank you very much. well at last im brave enough to flash a rom for the first time. and last question is, do these ROMs have their own kernels? or would you suggest any kernel to flash after flashing slim rom for a better battery life?

Yeah, they have their own kernel, but you can flash other kernels, just be careful about the f2fs & ext4 stuff, if you don't want to fck up your device. Kernel collection here.

[TUTORIAL][TX,V,T] "How to root and install cwm 4.3 Leaked Version"

Hi Advance Users
here is my tutorial
Requirements:
1.CWM v8 (v9 is too buggy cant install anything) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319202183
2.UPDATED ROOT :http://download.chainfire.eu/376/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.89.zip
3.Working CWM or any recovery
Flash Leaked ROM
Flash Root
Then Flash CWM v8
Turn off
Flash kernel from the leaked rom zip via fastboot
Reboot!!
Then cheers!!! your phone is rooted with cwm installed
Dont Forget to Give "Thanks"
i see the leaked Rom has no CWM installed.
so how could i flash the ROOT zip ??
im stuck, Jai
Use a kernel with cwm already, such nk or cm based. Then directly flash JB kernel afterwards. But flashing root and cwm before booting the room is more convenient as op instructed. Great.

[Q] CyanogenMod 11 for GT-I8190N

Hi Everyone.
So I was wondering if there's a version of CM11 for the GT-I8190(N) . I've been struggling to get it and I couldnt find any threads that were helpful. I'm desperate for CM11 because I've been using stock Touchwiz 4.1.2 for such a long time and I miss CM which I've used on my S2 (GT-I9100G) Also if there's any root solutions and confirmations please let me know.
What I really need:
-CM11 for GT-I8190(N)
-Root for the device ^
-Custom recovery ^
If that's not too much to ask.
Thank for for reading and noticing this thread, if you have any solutions or answers to the above question please reply.
Thanks again,
-Alysha.

First you need a custom recovery : http://goo.im/devs/Darkman/Recoverys/Recovery-CWM-I8190-Official-6.0.2.7.ODIN.zip (CWM)
Chainfire SuperSU zip : http://download.chainfire.eu/345/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip flash it via recovery
CyranogenMod 11 by Novafusion.pl : novafusion.pl or xda thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521593
Note : from NovaFusion Team you can also get the TWRP recovery (if you like TWRP more than CWM)

By means it'd actually work?
Use latest twrp recovery or philz recovery.
Rom works for i8190Ń, but without NFC feature.

If there is no kernel for Vanir with TWRP embedded, you can't use it. Custom recovery is embedded in same partition as kernel, so it can't be installed separately.

Exacly, TWRP will only embedded come with a kernel. I am not sure what kernel is compatible with Vanir AOSP, that has TWRP. You might look for ROM that has kernel with TWRP, and flash it with Universal Kernel Flasher. And be prepared to recover phone if you end up with a bootloop (flash same rom again if you can access recovery, or flash stock firmware).

You do not need to change it to find it, it is written in its post. I think that Omni has TWRP, and maybe Carbon. Ofcourse it needs to be 4.4 based. Look in Original Development and in Development section of our device part of this forum.

Sorry, I misspoke xD
I flashed it as a recovery btw.
But, by "it works Successfully", what did you mean ? You can access on the recovery or you can boot on CM13 ?
Indeed, my device power off not after the flash of the kernel and the recovery, but AFTER the flash of the CM13 + GApps.
So, if by "success" you meant that you can boot totally on CM13, which ROM and which kernel did you flashed ?
But if it concerned the recovery only, this is good, I have the same result than you x)

Without it, my device power off one second after the Sony logo
It finally works, thanks you
Hi,
Are you able to make one for the Z5P??
some of us are still stuck at ver 2.8.
also, i have used your root kernel program with the lastest twrp and it can boot into recovery, since i am using a custom kernel, i think it will be nice if there is a flashable img file for the latest twrp.
Many thanks in advance.
