I wouldn't. Unless the rom forum page shows the update, and supports OTA updates, I wouldnt update.

I would try it, worst that will happen is it will fail to install with some sort of error and then your phone should just re-boot to how you have it now

OTA Updates

I am thinking of rooting the One, however having received the OTA update for the camera I would like to know if rooted would theses updates (and 4.2.2 when available) be able to be received and installed ?
Thanks
sr
If you're rooted you can't receive OTA.
For receive OTA you need a locked/relocked bootloader...
Say your rooted but on the stock Rom,Can't you use "OTA Rootkeeper" ?

If you have the bootloader open (unlocked), you can't receive ota update.
With Evo 3D and One X is so.
I think is the same for the one...

I don't know.
But i repeat, i had Evo 3D and with an unlocked bootloader no OTA.
Same for the One X that i have now, because my one will arrive in some hours.

That would suck if the dev edition couldn't get OTA updated. But I highly doubt that is the case. We'll see soon enough (hopefully).

Theoretically, dev don't need OTA support.
Dev have ruu and source code for kernel...

Any news on 4.4.2 update for the Developer Edition?

Today the HTC One Sprint started receiving the 4.4.2 update, sounds strange given that the Developer Edition and the Unlocked devices are still on 4.4. Any news on the 4.4.2 update for the Dev Edition?
it's being pushed to my supercid

Just keep stock rom without root, and wait for OTA
Edit: If you want the update and dont wait for OTA just flash 4.4.2 Tmobile version and download the OTA (Tmobile version too).
Then install recovery twrp and root your phone using the twrp.
I did that !!!! Now I've 4.4.3 rooted

If you have root...Im 95% sure that you can't receive/install OTA. I've 2 moto x...... The first one updated via OTA and the second one updated via "manual" OTA. My 2 moto x is unlocked bootloader with no root.
I rooted my 2 moto x after the 4.4.3 update [emoji6] You know........ No risk.

Right !!! You need..... NO root and stock recovery. [emoji106]. The bootloader locked/unlocked doesn't matter [emoji6]

Not receiving lollipop ota

Hi I own a note 4 N910CXXU1ANL3 and I'm not receiving the lollipop ota update. I'm still on 4.4.4 and when I check for update it says latest version already installed.
What to do, considering lollipop has been pushed to all other versions as per my knowledge.
Tnx in advance!

I turned ota off so I wont get it. KK is fine until Lollipoop is sorted or we get M, yeah right.
You can download it from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910C/ and flash it with odin.

Rooted stock and received OTA update

I have AT&T 5.1.1 LMY47Z and received an OTA yesterday.
Do you still get the OTA when rooted? If it can't be installed how do I get rid of the notification from the notification bar?
Will this new OTA be available to install as rooted? I can't see what version or build it is or what it fixes/provides.
You can't install an ota if you're routed.
