I do not own mi3 currently. If you have backup of your trusted contacts, then I think, you can clear your contact list from the settings->App menu (In android devices). Go there and choose contacts.apk app and clear the data ( Please note that it will wipe your all contact list). Make sure to disable auto sync with Google prior to.
Phone app (the one you call from) - Menu - Settings - Organize contacts - Clear all data.

Go to Contacts app
Press Menu key-> Tap on Settings-> Display preferences-> Hide incomplete numbers.
Every contact which doesn't have any associated numbers to it will be hidden from now on :good:

right now i have Google contacts syncing to my phone. weird thing is, when i log into gmail and look under contacts, there isnt any listed. where does google get list from? I thought logging into gmail and clicking contacts would show me a list of names, but it doesnt. I dont get it.

First:
You need to make sure you enter a new contact by saving to Google.
Contacts that are on your "phone" will not transfer to Google automatically.
You can change your default save location by:
Open contacts
Press menu touch key (key on left side of your phone)
Press MORE
Press SETTINGS
Change: Save new Contacts from: Always Ask to GOOGLE
In Google it saves your contacts under the "My Contacts" tag.
Let me know if you need any other help with this.
p.s.:
If you want your contacts on Google and your phone, the easiest way is to enter them through gmail then let sync push them to your phone. Your phone (should) join the duplicates since they will have the same names and telephone #.

I'm having trouble trying to figure out the following.....
I go to the people hub, and then autos to "All" . . . . . The list shows all my contacts, however it shows ALL my HOTMAIL contacts and my Contacts from my SIM CARD.
All I want is the contacts on my sim card LISTED in the PEOPLE HUB, and dont want WP7 to alo use the HOTMAIL contacts list......
Any one know how to do this ???

there is one exception though, your primary Live account, you can only select to sync your mail or not, the contacts will always get sync'd, I kinda got the mess under control via syncing facebook and only showing contacts that matched in email / facebook.
Here's how it SHOULD work:
Swipe to app list
Settings
Swipe to 'applications' settings
select 'people'
swipe down to list of accounts
select the account you don't want contacts for
deselect 'people' from the 'content to synchronise' set of checkboxes.
Sadly, that isn't an option for my Live login, so I have weird random MSN contacts in my list of people alongside the Exchange contacts I actually want.
Annoying! Also, you can't delete the Live account.

I have contacts synced with gmail from before with my nexus one, and now with my galaxy I can't sync any new contacts. I mean it completes the sync on my phone but when I go to contacts the new contacts I have added my phone aren't there and I have to add them manually. but it does add the new info I have added to existing contacts.
Weird thing, what reason can cause this?
I have reflashed many times and it's the same with every other firmware or re-flash. I am using stock JPY with SpeedMod kernel.

You can try updating you gmail client then try to sync again or reinstall the gmail app.
I have updated all my apps to the latest version via market, but it still won't matter.
Did you check your display options? Are your gmail accounts set to show the contact names? Or check if all possible categories are checked in the Gmail Account options? Maybe there is something with your contacts categories and visibility settings?

Well the thing is that it shows all contacts in gmail with no problem, even if it was gonna be hidden in the contacts list in gmail, it should be synced with my device atleast and show the newly added contact in my contacts list. but actually... it doesn't even show new contacts after device syncs with gmail

I meant in contact list.
Here->
contacts>more>Display Options and then check your google account options.
But if that doesn't solve your issue, give a try on some other Android device?

I tried to sync my contacts with facebook for android but in stock messages app my contact pictures doesnt shown.. In contacts everything are ok. I tried with samsung's sns and contact pictures are weird so i dont like it..
Anybody could help me ?

Hey buddy try this,
Go to settings, Accounts and Sync make sure you've added a facebook account then click on "sync contacts". This should do everything you need. If not it could be an issue with the contacts not having facebooks linked with their number or something?
SyncMyPix is a great app that I use to syns the pictures between facebook contacts and phone contacts.

You have to make sure that the contacts names are typed exactly or very close to their facebook name, or go through one by one and manually connect them yourself.

ok this may be worth a shot
go to contacts. first thing, make sure you link that contact's different account icons like facebook/google/sim/card info for the same contact must be linked/merged
After that, enter the contact, hit Options - Mark As Default and select the picture you want
i'm sorry, i'm not 100% if this will solve your problem, but if you haven't tried it already it might help.

there is a field " joined contacts " and if you press on it, you can use the minus sign to separate them

Oh I tried that but the "minus" sign is faded out and cant be selected

Maybe your contacts arent synchronised with google? Log in on your gmail account and check by yourself.
Also go to settings -> accounts and sync -> your google account and uncheck sync contacts.
