[Q] Asus Zenfone 4 OTA Update Does not Work - Asus Zenfone 4

Hi,
I am using Asus Zenfone 4. I am trying to do OTA update from the Settings > About > System Update. but could not get the update to work. I am from Manila Philippines. Has the update been rollout to this region already?
Please advise.
Thanks

I just downloaded the firmware from here http://www.asus.com/Phones/ASUS_ZenFone_4/HelpDesk_Download/ and followed below instructions. So it is OK to mark this question as answered.
Source: Asus.com
Steps of Update:
1. Check software version of your device**
2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW.
4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.
*How to know the device model?
Path: Settings->About-> Model number
Example: ASUS_T00I
**How to know the device software version?
Path: Settings->About-> software information->Build number
***System upgrade may cause part of data missing, please buckup your important data before system upgrading.

mate s and I want to update it how I do it?

Hello ,I never got a update for my Huawei mate s and I want to update it how I do it my my version is CRR-L09C576B125 from israel?
I was in the same situation
1 - Download the appropriate firmware for your device (same region (C576) and model type (L09)
2 - It'll contain two major files, UPDATE.APP and META-INF folder
3 - Create a folder called dload on the sdcard or internal storage
4 - Open the EMUI updater app and update from local storage, should begin automatically. If that doesn't work try rebooting into the recovery and it will update the device
Where I download my firmware?
No region-specific firmware? I also encountered something similar and installed European (C432) firmware from this thread, it is version B390 with EMUI 4.0.3, April 2017

Be warned! : My Mate S was single SIM so the conversion to the European version was no problem, European versions are exclusively single-SIM if I am not mistaken. The installation procedure in the thread was what I used

Note 9 Pie Update; where does my device update fit in?

Greetings,
I would like to know where and when I would be receiving my Note 9 Pie update. I purchased my device as an early adopter (Sept. 2018). I bought my device direct from Samsung, unlocked, and I use it on the Tmobile network. The Model number and info is as follows:
Model Number - SM-N960U1
Serial number - RF8K72LJLZD
SW update Number - N960U1UEU1ARL1
I would like to know Where I would be receiving my Note 9 update from; Samsung, or Tmobile?
On an alternate note. I attempted to perform a manual Pie update but could not perform it with the specs I mentioned earlier. I attempted to perform a manual install by inserting SS-N960USQU1ARL1-to-U1CSB3-UP into my SD card root directory, but received an error notification. Apparently, I could not perform the update for the SM-N960U1. If I decide to perform a manual update, What software should I use?

It will come directly from Samsung since you are on a U1 device.
You can not use the CSB3 update zip. It isn't for your device. N960U1UEU1ARL1 =/= N960USQU1ARL1. That is why they have different build numbers.
As far as WHEN you will receive it. Good question. Sometime after all the carriers receive their updates.
Please feel free to spend some time reading these threads, particularly the ones about the various Pie updates, as they all contain these answers to your questions.
Thx much

Thx much in advance. The only build version that I seen for my device to date were the U and U1 versions, hence my questions,.

Hello,
i'm not an expert in this but will provide info from what i have gazed from you post, are you currently on WW rom or CN Rom, i'm guessing you bought Tencent version with CN Rom. The asus support web page is providing boot-loader unlock & Firmware imgs, but can only be used to convert from WW=>WW or CN=>CN Rom as written in more information.
once you unlock you bootloader you have to re-lock to get OTA updates, you can get more info in ASUS ROG Phone II Guides, News, & Discussion.
Hope this helps.
ZS660KL software Image:WW_V16.0622.1907.33 for WW only*
Improved Item:
1. Added three ROG live wallpapers
2. Light Luminous Core theme supports live wallpaper effect
3. Fixed the issue where occasionally can not turn on WiFi hotspot
Steps of Update:
1. Check software version of your device**
2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, TW->TW.

Tencent 8/128, yes.
I have a WW out of the box, but bc SafetyNet is fails on first boot and after a fdr, it is believed that the seller flashed WW over CN.
My concern was that I didn't want to update with the updated WW if I have to keep re installing or restoring apps, or if I had to jump through hoops each time I'm now looking to see how I can prove that the phone was reflashed to WW by the seller so I can return it. I need banking and Google pay to work. SafetyNet and OTA is important to me. I'm likely to contact Asus China for proof in how my serial/IMEI was flashed at the factory.

How to unbrand Zenfone ZE620KL Tim(Italy) Sku

Hi,
I own an Asus Zenfone 5 2018 ZE620KL single sim. Asus_X00QSA it is Tim SKU and last update was released in May 2019.
Runs android P release (TIM_16_0615_1905_100) and has many bugs.
Build number is PPR1.180610.009.WW_Phone-16.0615.1905.100-0 .
I would like to unbrand it from Tim Sku to WW Sku.
Searching on web for this takes to no result, only info is for other zenfone smartphones(like Deluxe, ZF3).
In order to make this possible I think some steps are needed:
- backup all your data
- unlock bootloader
- create original Tim recovery image(for unbricking purpose)
-create full phone backup(system, boot, vendor etc)
- grab raw stock Pie software
- create original Pie WW recovery image
- flash WW recovery image to phone
- flash raw stock Pie software using AFT or fastboot
- factory reset and locking bootloader
- done, enjoy new WW software and update last firmware using Adb sideload or Sd card.
This is an hypothetical plan, any help is appreciated.
Till now I was able to flash directly Return from A10 to A9 from asus site wich updated security level. All worked well, worked... until I decided to flash beta A 10 from asus site and gained WW sku and dual sim use but no radio service once insert any sim card. Reverted to A9, get back to TIM sku but radio service still off, sim card not usable.
So you may update on your own risk with Revert from A10 to A9 from asus website but do not update to A10, it will distroy radio modem file.

Changing the firmware region

Hello!
I ask for help to return to the second version of the firmware. Now stands the extreme version of the firmware India(M315FXXU2ATI4)B . I want to go back to my native Russia firmware(M315FXXU2ATC5) . The problem is that India's firmware one UI 2.1. And my native firmware on ONE UI 1.0 (if I'm not mistaken). When trying to sew native Russian firmware, gives out:
Code:
Rev.check fail. Device: 2. Binary:1
If anyone knows how to get me back to my native Russian firmware, please help.
Binário error
@akella111 You will soon receive a security update for your region. I'll use an updated firmware with binary 2. The error happens because you are trying to flash the firmware with binary 1 ... The Galaxy m315f is receiving a security patch update, I believe that soon the firmware arrives
