I have Motorola Atrix HD bought from Ebay US. I want to use it with other carriers. So wanted to Unlock as well as root it.
So, I want to know whether Rooting will also unlock the phone?

Well, you can use the unlocking site that are on web to unlock the phone, it just here in the US that we cannot unless a carrier gives us the code.

Its illegal for them to sell it to you, or illegal for you to enter the code?
I doubt they will stop selling codes to USA citizens either way.
All that its just bull-s. I pay full price for my atrix hd...so i should do whatever i like with it, but they won't allow me to have unlock boot loader,root on my phone, and now i cant have it sim unlock? Bs.

If you wanted an unlockable phone, then you should've bought one. It was known before this phone came out that the bootloader would be locked.

Yes, it is illegal for us to purchase and use the code. The code if you get one has to come from the carrier in order for you not to be violation of the law.

lol Joker is not an application its a custom rom for our Atrix HD & no it does not unlock the phone as i have tried it.
currently there is no way of unlocking the phone without paying for the code.
I read somewhere that ATT has exsclusitivity to the 32gb...I hope thats not true

Not end of the year, only until the MotoMaker exclusivity expires, which should be early November. After that, it should open up to Verizon and Sprint as well.

I am pretty sure its not Verizon That is a root symbol. do you need to update your su program? It's fairly common and not unique to your Nexus.

Its not your fault. The image was 100% a full screenshot with a root symbol # in the status bar whilst viewed in Tapatalk. It has now changed.

Ain't to much changed on 5.1.1 sprint seem the same to me. Feel a little smoother only time will tell.
Nothing special about 5.1.1 but a bunch of internal fixes, no noticeable changes. Its going to work for some, but not for others, as always...
