Try ES File Explorer or Root Explorer..
Hi.
I am trying to build a custom rom with base as stock rom(XXLT5).
I went through some tutorials on XDA, but they were only some basic stuff.
I had lot of questions in mind, and after searching for hours didn't get some help,so posted so maybe some one can help.
I flashed my own rom with some build.prop tweaks and changed wallpaper in framework-res.apk.
But it flashed with no problems.
1] I had lost root but I used Philz kernel(copied all stuff into respective folder)
2]I don't get about the META-INF Folder because I tried to put some s4 mods such as sec.settings.apk,s4 status bar, they also had META-INF but I didn't know what to do with it. I copied the apk of sec.settings into preload /syslink/system/app.
3]When the rom started default-wallpaper didn't changed and any mods didn't applied,so don't know what to do.
4]Will this work if I unzipped from md5 file(stock rom) and then Linux reader I extracted all files and modify it?
because in tutorials the mention to extract from rom using terminal emulator
Can please any-one say what should I do,and where to put META_INF folder, because all apks aur mods has META_INF folder and will replace every time I put a mod in it.
Please Help Guys.....:crying:
Hey everybody,
I just learnt the method for porting ROMs...
So i am trying to port MINICM 10 from HTC Explorer to Desire C and i want to know whether there is no harm in doing so, i would be using cm 10 build 3 as a base ROM, so i hope when i complete the base rom and when i flash it, it doesn't brick my phone !
I am still very junior over here in this section but i still want to port this ROM...Please everybody give me your suggestions so as to if there is any harm in doing so !
Thanks in advance

It's perfectly safe. Plus it's easy to port from HTC Explorer!
Just extract both
- Delete from golfu and Copy Apps, Media, Framework, and Fonts from pico to Golfu
- The go to etc>init.d, delete all except banner or something and don't copy the ones from pico yet
- Go to etc>permissions Copy the permissions from pico except platform and handheld_hardware
- Go to system>lib and copy over libmedia, libandroid and libandroid_runtime
Change the boot.img's over, zip and flash, if it flashes and boots, great! Go back an edit the build.prop using notepad++
If you get errors like set_perm failure, open the updater script in the meta inf folder, and copy the set_perm para from pico and paste in golfu
Reflash.
If it boots, add in the init.d scripts and reflash, may or may not boot.
it may or may not have root access.
Use NOPE boot.img

theres always a risk of soft brick, which is bootlooping. Its an easy fix, just reboot into recovery and restore your backup or flash cm10 for you device
P.S: do a full wipe before flashing port roms as a dirty flash causes bootloops
I have successfully ported minicm 10...check my signature!
Thanks for your support !
I copied Noto Sinhala font (noto-sans-sinhala) to my rooted HTC one with Lollipop (Stock Rom) , it works as soon as i copied the files but when i reboot the phone (simply switch of and on) changes disappear from /system/fonts folder. By changes i meant the copied files.
Please let me know if you have any suggestion.
I'm just a newbie on the android stuff.
Boot loader unlocked using HTC Dev guide
Rooted with SuperSu using CWM touch (recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.6-m7ul.img)
Fonts copied using root browser app

+1
Deodex your own rom by yourself
pull from system via ADB (usb debugging enabled) -> app, framework and priv-app, put them in a folder named system.
(can also extracted from flashfile, system.img with other tools like ext4_unpacker.exe)
deodexing -> app, framework and priv-app with SVAdeodexer (build.prop needed in systemfolder)
if deodexing finished then copy the three folders on your internal or external storage on device.
now start in to twrp recovery (mount system first), delete in the system folder on phone -> app, framework and priv-app
copy the deodex folder (app, framework and priv-app) to system and set chmod 755.
finger crossed, first time boot after replacing the folders takes several minutes

thanks to svadev
Whit SVAdeodexer odex to deodexing ---- work
twrp recovery mount system and copy ---- work
chmod 755 ---- work ---- but system starting working not
Even after an hour it starts still from new and does not go into the system
Sorry for my bad englisch
try to deodex with lordroid, this java based tool can creating a flashable zip file for twrp
