Sony headphones work best with Sony smartphones.
If you want mobile, those seem to be good.
I am using the SONY MDR-XB400
I am an audiophile, had the MDR-ZX100,ZX300,ZX310,and these headphones top it off,and i payed 60$ for them. The sound is clear, sound isolation is perfect(you only hear the music, and others arround you cant hear what you listen to),they are extremely plesant to have on the head, those coushins feel like clouds(so soft!),and the bass blows you away. The headphones are so good, they were worth every penny.

XB400,they cost 60$ in my country.
XB means extreme bass.I do not know what ZX means tho,but those are Studio headphones, and XB is epic sound and bass.

I like to use Sennheiser CX271, incredible sound for the price in my opinion.
Best of luck
I am using Sony MW600. Great sound, A2DP, bulit in FM. Sadly, no title or caller-name streaming on display.

I use Jays a-Jays One, love them! Epic bass and clear sound.
Any earphones that are plastic, and don't have the rubber inserts? I'm using my old iphone earphones... decent, but I'd love something with oomph!
I've bought the Sennheiser CX300II a couple of month ago for about 40 € in a shop (If you buy them online i think you get them much cheaper). The sound in combination with voodoo is just awesome even without bass boost enabled.

Gone for the Sennheiser CX300II, got them for £13 online, great reviews, thanks everyone

Sony MH-EX300AP- Hit or Miss??!!

Hi all, the Z and ZL comes with a MH-EX300AP range of Earphones. Sony claims that it handles rich bass and is a premium one designed exclusively for the Z and ZL. Does it proves what Sony claims? My opinion is that it gives a respectful and a decent job compared to many stock ones provided! But what do you guys think? Do you use them or have a separate buds/cans? Post your opinions below. If you have been using the stock ones, tell us how do you feel and how it's performance were according to you, was it up to your expected mark and such. You can also mention some great earphone-headphone combos that goes with the Z/ZL well and which you've been using.:good:
BTW I am using my Klipsch Image S4 with Z, they literally rock with walkman!
This might help someone who are in the lookout for decent pair of buds/cans for Z/ZL
i just bought mw1 bluetooth wireless headset pro and I'm loving it....
headset is really good loud music volume and good basses !! also it shows sms on its screen and reads if want to hear, also I can read titles of my mails from heatsets screen too. and one more thing that you can do is to see calls log list of your device and call anyone from that list without touching the phone
now I don't need to open my phones flaps at all I have charging dock and if I want to upload some files to phone I just use airdroid and works like a charm.
Sound is great when they are in but The buds aren't working for me I can barely move with them in so I'm getting some over the ear NFC ones next month.

Great, how much did you pay up for those??!!
On my second set of buds now and not much better, unless there are extra large buds I can buy I can't be dealing with them. Might go give them to my mother with the last set as they are meant to be worth £55.

its 87 us dollars on ebay with free shipping, and the shipment was really fast, I got it a week after purchase, it travelled from hongkong to Turkey
I really like the headset :good:
They are nice sounding buds, but far too quiet for my tastes.
I tend to use my rha 450i instead as they have a pretty stunning sound, don't cost the earth, and are a lot louder

Yes they are, in India Sony gave up a cheap pair of Headphones which don't actually sound at all when compared to the one given in UK! So when compared to those and those stock ones which came with my arc, these sound better must admit. Lack of volume button is a glaring omission though!

Though thinking of buying those soon! A bit on the costlier side, but worth it!
They are excellent for bundled headphones, but they are so unbelievably quiet.
I find them crackly/distorted and way too quiet, but they do have good bass if not overpowering bass. Sticking with my Shure buds though, better clarity

They are quite though, but they never sounded distorted to me!
I made a little comparison with my other 3 sets . I'm using pureXaudio v4, with Noozxoide musicFX ,
MH-EX300AP
They're not bad , actually very nice to listen to , but way too quiet. I find them comfortable to wear ,and good fit if i switch left-right HP, and lead the cables behind my ears. Bass is ok, nothing special, but atleast it's not overpowering the higher frequencies . MIdrange is the best part of them i would say. They don't respond that well when changing settings in noozxoide mfx. You can't hear much difference between effects
Sennheiser CX300-II
If you're in search for relativly cheap upgrade from stock sony one's, i wound say this is a way to go. Loud enough ,out of the box they are to "boomy", but by clicking the "soft clipping compressor" option in Nmfx gets them similar sounding to sony one's , but with much better bass response. You do get clearer sound in sony mx-ex300ap.. Those of you that are bass hungry would be very satistifed with them .
NCredible NErgy by Monster
Complete opposite to CX300-II,and much louder that ex300ap. . Bass is not their strong side(better that sony thought),, but voices are a real joy listening to. If your into rock and easy listening , these one are for you . Downside ? Pricey and you'll often find yourself dialing down the treble .
Sennheiser IE80
You can't really compare them to the others ,cause they can sound like whatever headphones you would like them to be , Louder than any IEM's i have ever tried , and even thought the bass is stronger than on cx300, it's not overwhelming ,and you can always hear vocals and background stuff loud and clear .(oh ,and the price bit, but i got them for like 300$, so i don't regret any $ spend . So ,if you really want to change your experience on listening to the music on portable devices, get one of these if you find a good deal
They might not be the best but they're certainly the best earphones I've ever got bundled with a phone. For me there's is no need to change them as they satisfy my needs perfectly. Period.
PS. I am going to buy SBH20 bluetooth headset and use EX300AP with it though.

They range on ebay from 350$-500$, but i would rather look up for them is some local store, and get extended warranty if possible .I have 5years on mine I got IE80 after 2 warranty claims on ie8 in short time(they were discontinued) . Those happened while i was having nokia e72, so i think there was something really wrong with output connection on nokia, as they also messed up another pair of cx300. 3 years ago this headphones were much cheaper (almost 200$), so that's the reason i got mine for under 300$.

Search Google for head-fi forums/audiophile forums . They have threads with comparisons and testing. I have read ( dont remb which forum) a thread in which they compared about 100-200 heads/in ears ranging from cheep china ones to akg's 1800$ kid!!! . Seriously most of the stock in ears that comes with phones lacks the juice. I own 3 headphones and 5 in ears. And none of them are stocks that comes with phones. I also have a beats in ear which comes with htc( i think its a over rated adv) . And a nokia in ear ( i re-wired it to suit my htc/computer. I use it for sleeping coz its flat cable is much more stronger , and wont break easily if i sleep over it.. , also it sounds enough for its price). A samsung one( broken cable), an old Sony Ericsson hpm 70( my fav one at that time, still i keep them). Enough story!
My fave is xba 4 sony . Cost almost 8000 Indian rupee!!! ( lol that was a tight one for some fresh engineer, it was about ⅓ of my salary!!!) . And i earned my passion for now, future plan is an AKG with a tube amp for it.

I was shocked when I learned that these headphones doesn't have volume controls !!
After doing some search I found that there's no standard for volume controls, so headphones should be design for specific devices only.. there's no standard even between Android devices from different companies, IE Samsung headphones volume controls does not work on Sony mobile phones and so on ( I've checked Note 2 headphones on Xperia S, audio is okay, answer key is working but not volume keys )...
I think that's why Sony is not thinking seriously with these volume keys even for a good bundled headphones like these... but this problem should not stop them I think it will be better to use Apple standards as Sony already have some products that are iPhone compatible and in the same time there's a huge market of headphones that are made for iProducts, they just need to support it in their devices.. unless there's some legal things and if Apple want some licensing thing for such silly thing then no... but if there's nothing then what ever is popular is good
The only thing I can think that will be compatible with all devices is to use a stereo bluetooth headset...

[Q] Weird buzzing and lack of bass

Hi,
i'm using my new xperia z1 with these headphones http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDREX58V...F8&qid=1386837991&sr=1-8&keywords=sony+mdr-ex
and the sound is clear, but outside i can barely hear any bass. I'm not sure if my earbuds are too small or the phone has issues. Comfortable volume is 50% which seems too much for such little volume.
Also sometimes when i use headphones with Music Unlimited and Walkman i get some weird buzzing, it sounds like electrical current, its more of a crackle than a buzz. usually if i slightly unplug the headphones it stops or if i restart the music app a couple of times.
Once again, i'm very OCD and this is pissing me off. Maybe some of you have some ideas.
Thanks.
Try using poweramp app.

Actually if you read around people complain about the same issues with the box headphones. Also, if you keep digging you will see that officially they only support maybe 6 Sony headphones. So i'm sorry to say it won't solve all my problems. Not to mention that those headphones are average at best. They are not god-mode audio, not by a long shot. Thanks for your condescending replies, but unfortunately it won't help me. Next time try giving a competent reply or just not replying.

Best In-ear Headphones for HTC One M8?

So I've owned my HTC One M8 for a couple of weeks now and I was wondering, what headphones are you guys using? The standard in-ear headphones are a bit crappy compared to the speakers. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good in-ear headphones with a microphone and volume control if possible. I do NOT want to get the BOSE-IE2 or whatever, I've had them before though they sound great, they are poorly made in materials and mess up quite fast. If anyone recommend me any great in-ear headphones that would be great. I'm considering the Beats Tour 2.0 but I'm willing to learn about more/others
Thanks!

whats your budget and what type of frequency do you like (bass, midrage, treble) Beats are total trash for music, I would get the Bose QC20 but you said you dont want it so answer those question and I'll provide you with a better answer.
I am running some IE80's and I can tell you there is a huge difference between them and the oem ones.
If you want something cheap but really good. Look into the JVC Marshmallows. They sound great and are very inexpensive. It's great for use as a pair of headphones you don't care about beating up.

Bass is mainly for Rap and R&B if you listen to those a lot and turn your music up to deafning level to get the pounding that it offers than the beats are for you, the problem with that is, its too much, it distort the other frequency, it overwhelm the music making it sound crappy, distorted and not what the artist intend for you to hear.
Midrange are mainly for vocal jazz, you hear the voice singing (more) to you, with defining instrument being play in the background, ussually audiophile love this, midrange is a something hard to tune in a headphone. too much midrange and treble however create a fatigue listening experience.
Treble is how clear your music is typically there is no specific genre to listen to but I imagine classical is a good suit for this, Treble make the sound seem clearer, but too much treble can make the sound seem grainy and fatiguing.
the typical mainstream In-ear are "V" shape what that mean is a boost in bass and treble while the midrange stay the same or slightly recessed. with the Beats, I believe the Bass is boosted way more than the other frequency.
Head to Head-fi and read up on it, I'm a pretty Noobish myself but I'm learning
last note, you should listen to music on a moderate level, if you lose your hearing it will never return.
Westone 4r's. Sound amazing with h/k mod.

I would go with the RE400 first, if you dont like it then you could switch. RE400 is relatively cheap!
I'd recommend the audio technica ath-M50. For superb sound under 100$. They're over ear though.
For in-ear phones , I'd recommend RHA ma350. Brilliant sound. Clear , full bass & sparkly clear trebles. Probably the best "all round" 'phones I can think of.

Velodyne vPulse for me hands down, had a year of use with them and were probably the best in-ear i've used to date.. currently using AKG K67 on-ear tiesto.. its okay but gonna upgrade to vmoda m100's hopefully over the summer
bowers and wilkins c5 hands down the best sound quality and comfort available for the price.
Go to best buy and keep buying and returning pairs till you find some you like. The wife and I both use klipsch in-ear headphones. Just Pay the $15 for insurance every time they break, (about every 3-6 months depending on the use) and get the latest model. My wife uses them 30 hours a week casually and I use them 55 hours a week landscaping. So I'm much harder on them than she is.

For anyone in the UK head to nearest John Lewis store. Buy a pair and essentially trial them for 30 days. Return them within that timeframe for another pair. Rinse repeat. They offer a no quibbles trial period and return as they realise its something you have to try out yourself.

I'm using the stock ones that center with the Harman Kardon edition. Wouldn't switch then for anything else!
