1. I prefer you to use Google and flash every ROM and then say what ROM is best, by your own experience. There is actually no 'best rom', as everyone loves things different!
2. I prefer you to use Google and flash every kernel and then what kernel is best, by your own experience. There is actually no 'best kernel', as everyone loves things different!
You can only see what is best, if you see it with your own eyes!

This is not a ROM/Kernal or some tweaks.
Just purely discussing and sharing some reviews abt current ROM's.
I hope this thread will help for some dummies, or for some who required Stable or Fater & Smoother or much great look ROM's.
This is purely my personal Experiance.. Im not commenting on any one's ROM just sharing few thoughts with you guys..
Correct me if i was wrong, and sorry if i unknowingly hurts anybody's feeling.
First of all thanks to our SGS ROM Developers where they are working nites for latest ROM's updated tweaks or kernals.. simply million thanks to them.. else we should have only SAM's deafult firmware.
Coming to my point,i purchased my SGS I9000 n dec 2010.
Previously i dont have any idea of ROM neither XDA nor anything.
When i googled for info on SGS then i found link to DARKYROM, there i got links to XDA.
FOA i would like to thak Darky as i started to flash Custom ROM after i read the whole story posted on his Darky 9.2 stable version, he included almost every thing like which a new guy can easily understand.
9.2 Darky ROM really rocks. Then i moved to DOC's thread,
oh man here u can cook ur own stuff... u ll get here any ROM/CSC/MODEM... this is purely awesome like a supermarket .
Then Juwe's/ultimate & Sweet honey.. these guys are nite raiders always go for newest and experiantal but they ll never let you down.
last but not least Serendity ROM(currently where my journey paused for a while), superb ROM with ultimate fast.
SO my obs are
darky:- if you want Stable Release and want to stay for long time this is best ROM i get.
DOC:- here u c all ROM's and all varieties till last date, you will really confuse which ROM/CSC/Modem version u should go,
I found Serendity is my choice where u will get excellent Faster smoother and Stable and less battery drain if you are with JPY Modem. I mean without any tweaks or some bla .. bla... Just simply install and sit back and enjoy Perfect ROM for daily use.
Once again im telling tht im not Judging any ROM here, just want to Share some views of mine on various ROM's.
2.3.2 is out but lot of FC's going currently no stable yet, i suggest wait for some Darky's/DOC's Stable Release.
I found (ROM) GingerCriskelo for 2.3.2 is bit smoother and less FC's (if anybody want to try 2.3.2).
Same for me + yes serendipity a big discover but it's not late!....2.3.2 will coming.....!!!!

I meant that when I see a cooker that uses such fancy words, I just ignore their roms. I used online rom generator to build a rom that close to the stock rom.

dud.. dud.. hold on.. im telling u again.. im not judging these(or any ROM's) nor commenting just want to share some reviews/thoughts of mine.. please take it low.. just share ur thoughts if any otherwsie dont just play ur words abt any ROM u feel online is better just say that simply.. instead of criticising other ROM's.. we are lucky to have these developers.. if u want u can create ur own Custome ROM with ur thoughts.. i hope u understood.

Guys i just flashed Insanity 0.6.7, way gud.. one should try.. just like Tricky very lite but look wise impressed with gud tweaks..
I have been on darky's for a little bit now (since early v8) and its been really, really nice. but now i seem to have cought the bug, and i just want to flash all the different roms out there and see whats out there. tomorrow I'm off to the land of cm7, then maybe miuiand then some of the roms here will be my next stops, i guess i'll report back with my findings
I am on Juwe 1.9 and it works great. Just waiting to see battery life, everything else I am satisfied.
Also when I had a HTC Desire, I was on MUIU and its was defenatly best custom ROM.
which rom is better for the 9001 sgs+ in terms of the following parameters
1. stability
2. performance
3. battery life
4. functionallity
5. appearance
can someone (or more) provide some feedback on the above mattter as i am trying to flash a rom for my phone , and all i can see is different versions where all seem ok . but is there anyway tha we can have some feedback from actual users.
which one to flash and why ?

these are the roms available.
afaik you can configure each one of them with not much effort so that it has the functions of another of the roms by changing kernel or adding or deleting tweaks. if there was a rom which would be "better" there wouldn't be any other roms.
i think they're pretty much the same.
only to broodROM alone the total posts are 2338 so far

Start at the beginning and read all.
i dont want to sound rude or "cleverish"
but should this development reach somewhere or it should be develpment for the sake of developing ??? i am a bit confused ??
it shouldnt reach to a rom that it should be stable (or any other criteria that one looks for ??)
i am just wondering ?

the big picture is:
everyone develops what he wants to but simultaneously everyone looks at what other developers do and adopt their features or mods for themselves to have a good rom in the end. thats why i think the roms are all kind of the same. you can use a cranium kernel for brood rom and (in some cases) use the broodrom configurator for cranium rom or use thunderbolt for any of our roms. i don't think this is bad.

Yeh that's true, since we only have Samsung ROMS as base ROMS we don't have much choice , also for the configurator, it was actually built for XXKPS but it seems KPG (not sure), KPS, KPU and QK1 use the "same" framework, ZSKP6/7 is other tho
I suggest you try broodROM RC 3 with FeaCore kernel and thunder bolt.It's smoother than CraniumROM (tried) and my battery goes up to two and a half days on broodROM.Haven't tried it on Cranium.Didn't like it from the beginning.

Honestly i'm a bit lost with these new rooms.. i don't know what to choose.. or if is the best time to chose it.
before i had a prety clear idea to look for DJM... Gestkernels or spica.... now... I'm completely lost!!!! Don't know were to start. Any ideas?

if you want to stay with GB, then DM (my personal fav always)
if ICS then, I would suggest Topo's ROM, Homero's ROM with Topo SP2 or Stefans' 2nd gen. Others presently have the incall bug....all CM10 based ROMs.....so better to choose something which is free of this.

TG P990 ICS V30A - Stable - Rom and Advanced Kernel
All i have to say is my p990 is one before and is All i want after i flash this ROM it is just amazing the work the coder did on this ROM im using the test v30a ROM did not flash the final release yet but by far it is the best ROM i ever had for my P990 i highly recommend even if you dont want to overclock it comes with the best scripts to improve the memory and push the karnel to the maximum cost benefit.:good:

there is no best or worse custom rom. every rom and kernel is made differently to serve another purpose. think of what u like and what are ur needs and check the roms in youtube or at the official presentation site of every developer ! links and infos at rom section !
Like kessaras said there is not "the best rom". Try it out for yourself. And such threads are against XDA rules as you should know -> reported.

There is no best ROM/Kernel, what's "best" for someone else may not be "best" for you. Try them all and see which best suits you.

I can easily say, i recommend you this and that rom, but how do i know if it will work oke with your i9305.. I DON'T KNOW, so in the end you will be curious for others roms too, other than what i or anyone else recommended, and with your flashing experience that is getting better and better with every flashing/installation you make, you will probably flash them all anyway and try them out, so will you stick with the recommendation that i or anyone else makes, I DONT THINK SO
so will asking this question be very helpfull to you? probably not...
ALL of them roms have their own greatness in various aspects!! not every rom you will install will probably work without any kind of issue or bugs, as it is called. you need to find out what rom will be the best for daily use for you, and that is done by testing them f.e. each day try another rom, read the threads and analyze the roms features and users posts etc. there are a lot, so i would say get started!

Hi! I tried many roms from 4.3 to 4.4.4 and as i can say is, not because it is a good rom for me, it must fit for you.
I like the sammy roms because they work with my car audio. But also the CM-based roms because of speed.
So, maybe you see it's your choice and you can only install them and try them by yourself.
I'm on alliance 3.5 which is a sammy rom. And i got xposed framework installed. So i can change a bit more. You see, everyone is different. :thumbup:
