Yeah thats my concern too. But whatsapp requires phone # to add someone to your contact right? I never knoe we can add contact by scanning qr code.

Once you get Inbox, you'll have invites to send to your friends. Here's how to send an invite:
Open Inbox.
In the bottom right, go to the Create button .
Choose Invite to Inbox .

Yep, I'm an "ahole" for reserving my invites for friends that would actually appreciate it, rather than giving them away to random people on here who seem to only join this site simply so they can beg & demand things from XDA members who actually contribute to the Android community.

I wasn't talking about you. I was simply responding to your post in which you felt the need to resort to name calling.
I've received 15 messages in my inbox from random people begging (quite literally) for invites. And then the guy who posted above yours was asking as well. All of these people have joined within the last couple of months and seem to have very few posts and minimal "thanks", which is a great indication that they come around here just to ask for things such as One+ One invites and more recently, Inbox invites.
Of course I'm not going to hold onto invites just to be spiteful. I have friends who I know will want them. And, quite frankly, if someone on here with an actual reputation for helping/contributing to this community asked me for an invite, I'd be more than happy to give them one. But like I said, I'm not going to just hand them out to the leaches of this site. You've got to see where I'm coming from here...

Guys its easy to get invite. Go google for google inbox. Then request invite from google.took few hours then I got my invites. Sorry no extra invite I gave them all out.

i have messaged to google regarding this... they said the option wil be seen within 1 week of activation of inbox

I also cleaned out the posts that contained visible email addresses, because posting your email address in a public forum is a good way to get your inbox spammed...

Since the official group shut down, i'm starting a replacement one in the hope the moderators here agree :fingers-crossed:

Since the whatsapp group was completely full and more people wanted in we moved to telegram :good:
5000 users can get in now, so no more waiting lists :good:

You should consider moving this group to Telegram instead of whatsapp. I have joined the group several times and left, because of the annoying notification counter that is shown on the whatsapp icon . I just hate that.

of the 94 people in the group at the moment, barely 20 have Telegram.
if we would switch over we would lose far too many people, and besides that...it would be a ridiculous amount of work to re-add everyone again.
it was already bad enough we had to re-add everyone yesterday
