Introduction:
I have always liked the unique Sony UI - but it comes with a big downgrade in terms of performance, at least when using stock roms. So I switched to AOSP.
Faster? Yes. More stable? Yes. But the Holo interface could never impress me. That's why I decided to combine two different worlds - beauty and performance.
Here is the result of more than a hundred hours of compiler flag experiments, intense theming and bugfixing.

Known Bugs:
Any bug reports are greatly appreciated as I am aiming for a most stable user experience.
However, make sure to include a log or screenshot, as even a very detailed description cannot include all information I need to track the issues down.
All known and unknown Omni bugs. (Zero battery bootloop fixed - Bluetooth pairing can be fixed by flashing this.)
Exchange doesn't work. If you need it anyway, install this app: Link
CertInstaller force closes. For a fix, install this app before importing your certificates: Link
Z2 style Clock widget doesn't show AM/PM. (Tempoary fix: Select 24 hours time format in settings.)
Installation:
Following the steps below, you accept that I cannot be held responsible for any damage to your device while installing or using this rom.
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked - if not, follow this guide: Link
Enter recovery
Do a factory reset and wipe system partition
Flash latest neo-4.4.4-tsubasa.zip
Flash latest neo-patch.zip (if any available)
Flash "GApps Minimal 4.4.4" and "AOSP Calendar Sync 4.4.4 Addon" packages from here and here

Reboot
Updating:
Updating NeoWave to the latest version is as simple as:
Flashing the latest rom or patch zip from Downloads section
Flashing your add-ons and accent colors again (optional)
Rebooting
No need to wipe cache/dalvik cache unless noted otherwise. :good:

I am using a different kernel (CM11 one), and some of my beta testers have reported bluetooth works in certain cases as it should, but I need some more people and more devices to confirm this.
Battery consumption is awesome, I will post a screenshot made by @peter-k later, so you can see yourself. :good:
If you want maximum battery life, use ART runtime.

Would love if you could pass a link to your boot.img file, anyway, ill give your official version a try to see how it goes (backing up stuff now)

Bravia engine might have been ported to AOSP by other devs. If you find a working one, tell me and I'll add it to the add-ons section. :good:
TrackID works perfectly.
Download Video info should work with the Z2 Movies app liked to in the add-ons.. Music info will not work most likely. Requires a stock rom.

Not quite sure about the name yet.

By the way, I found some small icon bugs in Settings and Calendar and a fc in combined view in EMail client. Will fix them and create a patch zip in a few days.
I have followed the development from the beginning. There has been so much work and refinement put into it. I think many would not recognize Omni anymore, or on a second look only. In my books it is a new ROM with an Omnirom core.
It works stabil just like Omni, one of the most solid ROMs around, and it's pretty like a contemporary Sony edition even if not everything is 1:1 Xperia, and without the hard core eye-candy plunder.
In short, the title and the description are understatement, IMO. It's KK with Xperia feel on the V, a reliable ROM that can keep up with the best here, having to my opinion better memory management than 4.3, and also satisfactory battery life. This one is worth unlocking your bootloader.
Certainly all my subjective opinion but I think most likely you will not regret. You tell me if you don't agree

There is indeed a chance. But first I have to fix the last bugs caused by my modifications, and then I still need the permission to use a working Omni for XT as a base for my mod.
And if the first build doesnt boot, I cant do much about it, as I dont own the device.

The Sony camera itself (talking about Superior Auto etc) cannot be ported to AOSP as it requires proprietary drivers that we dont have.
If you were talking about the Social Camera stuff, I have to disappoint you. Yes, there are working ports out there, but no, I wont include them in my rom because they would just bloat the rom and break ART compatibility.

1.In Mobile Network Settings background is black (it should be white)
2.In lockscreen slider shortcut setting, icons are white in white background
It's a perfect ROM with awesome performance and battery life (maybe better than stock? ) but I missed some features from Carbon ROM like double tap to sleep in status bar and lock screen notification so I restored my backup. BTW anyone knows how I can add these features?

1. This is included in Phone.apk. But its in Android Manifest, so I cant change it without changing the signature and making the app uninstallable. Thats why I havent changed it to white yet.
2. Screenshot please.
Perhaps I could add some cherry-picks in some next version. But it will take some weeks/months till I update the omni base. I guess you can imagine that I'd be busy for several days applying all the theme stuff again.

Q 1: After flashing Xperia Ultimate HD my battery life is not good. What can I do?
A: Please charge your battery to 100%, boot your device in ClockworkMod Recovery and go to Advanced ---> Wipe Battery Stats.

Still Problems? Try to deactivate Auto-Sync, 3G Data when you don't use it, and the last thing you can do is, a kernel change // a new battery.

Q 3: I'm using 2.0 on my phone, how to update to the next version?
A: Download the latest version of xperia ultimate HD and then please boot to clockworkmod recovery and go to advanced > wipe dalvik cache and than wipe cache partition. Now select install zip > choose zip from sdcard > Xperia Ultimate HD xxx.zip. Choose "Upgrade" in AROMA, and wait for the Installation to be finished. Now untick "reboot", go to advanced > fix permissions and reboot to system. The Bootup shold take 1 Minute, +/- related to the apps you have installed.

Q 4: My WiFi doesn't work. What can I do?
A: Flash WiFi Modules for your Kernel. If you are on stock kernel, reflash stock WiFi Modules. If you use Lupus, reflash the kernel and make sure you have a few mb left on the /system partition. If that, doesn't work, reflash the ROM and Check MD5 Sums.

A: Well, first you should think about what to do if you got problems BEFORE messing up your device. Understood? Good.
If you followed the Instructions correctly you should be able to install it without any problems. If you did NOT, you may get a bootloop/problems, related to the mistake you did.
For restoring your device from bootloop, please restore your CWM Backup, reflash the ROM, OR Reflash Software using Flashtool/Sony Update Service.

A: Do a Full Wipe and follow the Instrcutions related to OP. Than you can enjoy this ROM as much as we do. Also, a different Kernel, whit more up-to-date sources is recomnend.

A: You need a Custom Kernel to Overclock, and for that you need to unlock your bootloader. Here: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/ you get inctructions. Than you can choose any ICS Kernel with OC Support (OC = Overclock). Use No-Frills CPU Control.

Q 18: I can't see OTA-Update! What to do?
A: Clear data of "System Updates" & some Updates are "full" updates, please download the whole ROM, and select "Update" in the Installer GUI. It won't delete your data.

For Unlocked Bootloaders: Flash any Kernel for stock ICS.
For Locked Bootloaders: Root your phone using this tutorial, than install CWM using this app
Place ROM on SD-Card
Back up user apps and data. (Various apps available, search Google Play. This is a popular one)
Power off phone.
Boot to CWM (Keep pressing the Volume Down key after the Sony logo appears)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Mounts and Storage --> Format /System /Data
Advanced > Wipe Battery Stats
Install zip from SD card > Choose Xperia Ultimate HD
Follow on screen instructions on AROMA.
After Complete Installation untick "reboot" and select reboot in CWM
Give the phone a good full charge, and enjoy your brand new phone!

Change your Pull-Down Background:

●open the zip and navigate to: /vrtheme/system/app/SystemUi.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi and replace your image with the one found there(it's a simple black image. So if you want to revert back to stock just flash the not-modifed zip)

Reboot into CWM
Take a Nandroid Backup
If this is the first time you're installing 'Nightmare' perform a Factory Reset(if you're using Philz touch recovery I suggest you to perform a 'clean up before Rom flash)
Install the Rom and configure it to your likings
Reboot
Ps There's no need to wipe caches, the installer will do it for you
Additional Notes:
To receive OTA Updates just open the UpdateMe app once! You'll get registered automatically and will receive a push message once a new version of the ROM is out
Do NOT install any mods which mess up with "entropy"!!(eg 'seeder') This will break the included CrossBreeder Mod!
Do NOT use any Ad-Blocking app(eg AdAway)!! An Ad-Block is already included in the Rom! Using such an app will break the Ad-Blocking
During the Setup of the Viper4Android Mod choose ARM v9 with Neon! Also enable "FX compatible mode" in the settings!

[*]Use CWM to install the ROM!! Themes won't apply if you're using TWRP!! If you don't have CWM installed yet grab it here!
If your keyboard is laggy after a clean installation(means performing a fullwipe before flashing) goto the keyboard settings and disable all the pre-selected languages. Now enable only the languages you want to use and the lag is gone!
If your apps disappear after a reboot reflash the ROM, but do NOT check the zipalign script in the Aroma.
Some Tips:
'Greenify' battery hungy apps(eg facebook, maps.. For system apps the donation version is needed!) to save lots of battery!
Window Animations are Set to 0.5 for a faster experience.. If you don't like it you can set them to 1.0 under developer options
You can disable Ad-Block with the following command in Terminal emulator:

and re-enable it with:

If you wanna change the theme without re-flashing the rom you can find the themes as stand-alone package in the Download section
If you need access to developer options tap on the build number 7 times
For better battery set brigthness to "auto" or keep it at half
How-To report a Bug:
If you experience any kind of bug please describe it exactly! Also mention any additional mods you've installed! Maybe also post some Screenshots if they describe the bug better.
If you have a FC(=Force Close) of an app(if it's an app delivered by the ROM. If it's a 3rd party app write its developer!) do the following:
Download and install Cat-Log
Start the logging
Make the action which leads to the force close
Stop logging in the Cat-Log app and send the log to me
Now I'm able to fix it! (I'm NOT able to fix something if you only write "XYZ gimme a FC" I NEED that log!!

Well that depends on your usage! I get ~4 hours screen on time with E-Mail Sync every 15 minutes and massive Whatsapp/Facebook usage(mobily data), gaming and browsing.. If you don't sync your mails often and only using Wifi you're getting more screen on time..
Just try out your self... For one it might be 6 hours and 2 days runtime while it's only 4 hours and 1 day runtime for somebody else..
There are so many factors which are having an impact on your battery running time that really nobody can provide you an effective answer to that
But I promise you that you'll get a very good battery life with massive performance on my rom!

Thanks^^ I'm glad you like it Powersaving mode is useless^^ Just makes the screen look worse and saves only ~15 minutes screen time

I signed JellyVanilla EX 5.0 (and above) with new different signing keys
please wipe data before installing the rom to prevent stuck/bootloop, except you came from JellyVanilla EX 5.x !!
INSTALLATION
0. Make a backup
1. Flash CM10.1 LX 20131108 kernel for your device
2. Enter recovery
3. Wipe data (no need to do if you came from JV-EX 5.x)
4. Flash JellyVanilla EX 6.0 (Dev-host)
5. Boot your phone
6. If you get black screen after setting up phone, just press Home button
7. Let the ROM idle for a minute, and... Done !!

Your ROM is faster than NOS !! But some other 4.2.2 ROMs are faster ??
- Nah, don't ever try to compare this one's performance with it's 4.2.2 brothers.
Why ?? I think u already know, this rom is half CM10.1 and half SONY 4.3 fw.
All SONY 4.3 fw are made for it's HIGH END devices that basically not our device, so they're very hungry in resources.
I HAVE and I WILL do my best to handle the performance degradation of using SONY's fw.
So don't complain to me IF you found this rom has worse performance than other 4.2.2 roms, complain to SONY instead..

-edit music info works but it gets a security error and can t download music info..but you can edit music album photo manually on a sd card folder if you want..that is working.
-cant seem to restore my apps with titanium backup.
-message cant see cause its all white,but no problem,just go to message settings and choose different colors,bubble style etc..
-display its small,but no problem also,just go to your build.prop and change LCD density to 240.save and reboot.
-for better performance use cm10.1 darkraven kernel (its alternative kernel mentioned by OP)
-navigation bar buttons are big, and they are ON on landscape mode,maybe a fixed version with 24DPI and 0 landscape better.(i have fixed that for me)
good theming accent changes,looks very nice, incall is transparent (thanks always better than full black), free ram is between 140-160 (use greenify if not you will get between 80-100 if you install many apps). its a great sony experience if you like that,with all sony apps working great,only security errors may appear,cause we dont have support for some features. some screenshots and video review later after more tests.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currently an issue that we are aware of and are addressing. For now, after you've changed the density -- reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

yes I have tested banks gapps on my test builds they do worked fine!!! I hope they will work fine on this rom too!!! cant test them now as I am busy with other things which u know!!!

Open Gapps works fine without any fc. ( No need to flash keyboard zip). Delta Gapps give setup wizard fc.

Hey.... I tested banks gapps linked in this post and faced seriously issues... Can't open Play Store and can't push quick settings. Flashed Open GApps Nano and worked fine. Thanks for this awesome ROM!

Thanks for testing Banks gapps!!! Actually they shouldn't give errors as they are based for arm devices only.

Using the rom for almost 10 hrs. Here is my setup
- flashed the rom, open gapps micro pack, xposed framework v84 with twrp v2.8.6
- Rom is smooth with lots of customization options
- No keyboard fc
- Everything works - Ril, bluetooth, gps, 3g,wifi,Hotspot, 1080p video shoot and playback, store in sd card.
- Battery backup seems ok. Could be improved with further recharge cycles.
- Chromium browser fc after a while. Looked at logs and seems like due to low memory the app is closing itself.. Will send you logcat soon.
- Cant install official fb app. First i tried with titanium backup... And TiBu used to close itself after a while without instaling fb app. Then i tried installing through play store... It showed "installing" for around 30 mins without installing the app. Then i downloaded apk and tried installing, again with no success. Lastly i tried with xda labs and app use to close itself after a while.
Also, I noticed serious hang/lag issues while installing fb app. Rest of the time phon worked like a charm without any lags.

No problem here with Facebook app and no any FC with chromium. Everything works great.
I'm using TWRP 3.0.2.0 by @GHsR, without xposed and Open GApps Nano. And for Facebook app... I patched it for use without messenger with FBPatcher... And I using Alpha version. Installed here in 2-3min without any problem.

Well, the april build of twrp by ghsr wasn't working so I used old twrp. I didn't knew about may release of twrp by ghsr and i had already flashed du rom by then so I didn't flash latest twrp.
I will use the latest twrp and see how it works.

#1_ For more customize with Xperia homeX and open app, activ in xposed installer and long touch on desktop,
go to home settings. scroll down until get last option Xperia HomeX.
#2_ in Aroma Options are for Removed in some sections(like: page 1 and 2 ,sony and google apps..)
and in some sections are for Install or disable(like: page: 3 and 4 ,style,xposed... part).
#3_ Just for some users after flash rom, sim card not detected. to solve problem choose stock z5 fw 1.54 in flashtool0.9.23.2 and select everything in misc ta and exclude column except options:AMSS_FSG ,AMSS_FS_1, AMSS_FS_2 and MODEM in the exclude column and then started flash.
#4_ Don't install Gapps on rom, no need to install it.

1_Enter to TWRP recovery and be sure to do Full Wiped (system,data,cache,storage) before flash rom.
2_ In Aroma installer choose options or keep default choice. in Aroma Options are for Removed in some sections (like: page 1 and 2 ,sony and google apps..)
and in some sections are for Install or disable (like: page: 3 and 4 ,style,xposed... part).
3_ Go to next and wait for finished install rom. after finished rom reboot phone and Enjoy.
4- If installed Xposed for full activation after boot, again restart phone.

seeing a @nreuge is no longer part of the z5 community and swiftly moved onto the xz2 unfortunately (although all of your development is appreciated thanks so much ) is it possible seeing as your updating the roms now seeing as frager45 is an ignorant di** and has stopped. Are you able to do same modification and customization to version 2.6 as nreuge did to 2.4.8 and 2.5?

The kernel is convenient and efficient
efficient 2.5 and 2.4 is almost the same
actually to be honest i think the battery was lot better on the 2.4 version i can see a small decrease in battery life on 2.5 using @zacharias.maladroit kernel not saying there is anything wrong with it just a small decrease

haha - you can't compare custom kernel (at early stage) vs. stock kernel
you have to compare stock kernel vs. stock kernel
or custom vs. custom
then you'll see how it goes.
Well, there clearly seems to be higher battery consumption on 2.5 though (Z4/Z3+ thread).
We really need a link to the 2.4 (or 2.4.8) ROM version, you can't simply delete the old variant
That's really bad practice, especially concerning that it's possible that battery consumption is higher on 2.5 by the ROM itself

Nope.... Yhu flash it after flashing tha rom buddy!!!!
in this rom, i failed to locate my location via google map, and hp could not access my location even though in settings i already set high accuracy.
does anyone else also experience it?
