HTC One M8 for Windows on HTC One M8 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The HTC One M8 is the first device in computer history to give consumers the ability to choose operating system upon purchase.
Does anyone know a way to flash Windows Phone 8.1.1 onto the original HTC One M8?
Also, why isn't it possible to just download an image of Windows Phone? The OS is free now.

I moved this thread back to One Q&A since the moderating team decided that's where it belongs, but I'm closing it since we now have a single discussion thread for porting Windows Phone 8 to the current m8s. Please continue the discussion there.
Thanks,

Unhappy with HD7 and Windows 7

Hi,
I'm sure we all are mighty upset with the creators of Windows 7 Phone.
After loving windows mobile for some years the new variant of the software for my beloved PDA manufacturer just doesn’t cut the mustard.
To all the developers out there is there a way of using this fantastic piece of hardware with an alternative OS, Android or WM6.5.
I have to say I’m so glad this phone comes with the job, as I won’t be sorry to see it go.
Buy an HD2, you'll have an HD7 with windows 6.5
I'm glad mine comes with WP7 though
be patient. give the devs some time. your favorite software will come to wp7 soon.
Please stop with those kind of thread and stop to post them in development section.
Closed and moved.

i'm looking for an app

i'm looking for an app "talking tom cat" it is for iphone but i need it on my HTC
What's an HTC?
So, are you asking for someone to port an iphone app to winmo? I believe it is also available for Android (from THIS website) Brought to you by the amazing the powers of Google!
Additionally, THIS post from XDA mentions it is not available for winmo/windows mobile, the native OS for HTC devices in this forum
thank you for this information .
i want to ask if there is an app like it for winmo
The straight forward answer is simply no. If you would like me to bore you with other reasons why, just ask.
Alternatively, if you want to bother yourself with using XDAndroid, that would be another means of running it, my friend
wich one is easy to use winmo or android
Considering which HTC device you have (I assume you have a TP since you are posting in the TP forums), winmo would be the easiest to use since it comes from the factory that way. However, since no one has attempted to port the app from iphone/android, it would make using the app a tad difficult . Also, if you are positive that you have some computer experience, then you might want to read up on the XDAndroid project first before you make the attempt, my friend!

[POLL] Android Dev Section for HTC HD7

Since the first Android ROM running on the HD7 has appeared, is it time to start making new sections for the HD7? We all know how much development the HTC Leo a.k.a. the HTC HD received and it is only natural to expect the HD7 to receive just as much attention from the developers.
So what are your opinions on this? Should there be an Android section? Please comment below...
The first Android ROM video for the HD7 is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na44-qBtY8M&feature=player_embedded

Well we need more votes then just 14! C'mon people, exercise your right to vote
I voted yes. I would love to see a viable HD7/Android development section. It might help spur more development as well.

I only want it for bragging rights. I wouldn't actually use is as my main OS. More of a play ground to p!ss about with.
Yes. Android would be nice for HD7.

I need the Android port to my HD7... It was cheaper than the Desire HD, so I bought this one. The design of the HD7 is also far better, than the DHD's. But, the OS.. Unusable.. I bought it to use it, not to be connected to a PC whenever I want to do something with it.. There is no download option for files? Where are we? It's not a smartphone, if my very-very old SE v800i have much more abilities, than this one. No 3gp support. XD The most common mobile video file format. With Android I could use it as a smart phone, that doesn't need to be plugged to pc all the day and it could be a portable, mobile(!!) device.
AT LEAST I SOLD IT!!! back to the old Touch Pro 2 The WP7 is a horror...
HD7... Android... T-Mo.... CONFUSED!
So I called T-Mobile yesterday to see if I can get an android instead of my HD7 but it was a no-go for i have missed my 14 day return period but the person on the line told me that I could RUN ANDROID on my HD7 and it works and it can be done BUT it VOIDS my warranty (which I knew) and it's kinda timely and drawn out and to check XDA for ALL the answers to my questions but I have yet to find anything really useful. HELP PLEASE
P.S. I got the phone for free thats why I have it
[EDIT] sorry if it's in the wrong spot but I sick with a case of the N00bs
