Codename Nice Work!!! just installed and it works flawlessly haven't found a thing wrong yet. Everything seems to be working. I installed stock pa gapps after the first reboot. That's the big thing to remember. Flash rom, boot up, reboot to recovery flash gapps and voila. Thanks Dev:good:

So no need to flash kernel or other things, just have to access recovery and flash this one?
My battery seems poor, do not know if depends from firmware or just have to change phone lol.
Any reviews about battery life? Thanks a lot

Great job!
Just installed, no problems occurred yet.
What about OTA updates? Or do we have just flash new version of zip over current, if this will be available?
Keep up!

Please post any known bugs!
Is there a mem drain like CM11 after a day of more? Thanks

Battery life is pretty good for me (I will make a screenshot later- loaded it fully few hours ago)

Gonna try this out. Wondering how it compares to stock, which is really good.
Edit: performance is great! The only I can't get to work is the camera and gallery displaying pictures taken, even older ones.
I'll report back with idle drain later.
Edit 2: Idle drain so far seems just fine to me, although the camera is still an issue. It will snap a picture, freeze, and not save that picture. I could be wrong, but I think it has to with the fact that its saving them to /sdcard/DCIM instead of /emulated/0/

Edit 3: Camera fix as a standalone app for those interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix&hl=en

Torch does not seem to be working. Besides that it works great. Hopefully this one doesn't have the RAM bug like the others do.
EDIT: A lot of issues. I can't send messages in any messaging app, I get random slow downs that become beyond usable laggy. I don't even know if I've gotten any phone calls currently as I'm not sure if calling is working either.
Guess its back to stock I go.

Were your photos stored on the phone or SD card? Also is that the default Motorola Camera app?

With the app fix they're on my external sd card now, and it's the one included with the rom - cm camera. I tried to install the moto camera from my stock rom but it won't accept the install (didn't try any xposed modules to fix that either)

Battery test: Really nice! I was at school, work, and asleep for a good portion of this but I stopped keeping track when I hit 33% to charge it back up for the gym.
If I didn't go on reddit loading a bunch of gifs I could have probably hit 3-4 hours of screen on time nearing 2 days and no charge.
Brightness is kept at 30% always.

I tried this ROM, it's a mess, at first boot TTS Engine and Configuration Assistant crashed, unable to configure the phone correctly. Tried a wipe data/cache after ROM installation, same problem.

Really? I had 0 problems other the camera issue. The battery is quite good but I switched to carbon for the time being until that gets resolved.

thanks dude if developers gone start this rom for dual sim its will nice thanks for the developers
i thought its cm11 base so it should work on xt1033

Update, aw yeahh
EDIT- Since I've flashed I've noticed:
Performance is great, as it was before.
RAM bug seen in other ROMs isn't here, which is a good thing.
Camera still freezes, but I know that's a CM bug.
Is there a AOSPA version of Lungo for Peregrine?
Edit 2:
Solve your camera freezing and use CameraNext

Tried some roms (carbon, aosb, stock modified) and this is best so far thank you for this great rom works smooth and good !

I'm running this ROM for about 6 hours and I already can say that this is the best ROM. Smooth and small, perfect! Thanks for bring this ROM to our peregrine.

I'm trying to decipher the changelog. Does it say that the camera freezing issue was fixed in this nightly?

great ROM, :good: experiencing smooth ROM, just searching how to translate tiny chinese character in lockscreen part and notification drawer, and make the video recorder works, but its not too disturb the performance. salute for lanhoter... :victory:
bluetooth works
finally bluetooth problem sorted out now it works like charm.
the problem was with the file permission. i messed up with it
2nd day with this rom still im feeling the smoothness of the rom
it is sad that presently themes are not supported.
battery life is not bad.
IMHO, this should be move to Android Development Thread would be appropriate. By the way, how's gaming performance on this rom?
games are playable if you dont install apps like facebook ,chrome,
else it will lag
JB roms are not for games as i experienced. this may be because of low ram of our device
the battery drain is good, so far it is stable.
but i like the original UI XD
I can't seem to get the ROM to work very well and am not novice as to flashing ROM. After flashing, the rom boots up to the home screen and stays for like 5-10sec and then reboots all by itself, the cycle continues just like that. Wierd though as no body is getting the same prob.

same here, quite confused with how to break the lock of the theme, since the theme is not bad, maybe wont work on this..
already got U8860 dev version
1.fixed video recording
2.fixed not stable
3.recompilation by gcc to fix lag, better performance
4. add original lock theme
5. add net speed on the status bar
6. upgrade the kernel and better performance in camera and video recording。
but just dev version not stable, will try later with stable version, hopefully all the new features ported to X6
It's really nice ROM..... Although it's 4.1.2, it's very light on mobile...
I hope mod will move it to developer section very soon...

Huh? who or what are you talking about
I think the "if it boots at all" text scared him off. But it boots
Haven't tried your latest build yet, first one had camera trouble, it did not save video or pictures that were made. And the rom felt a bit laggy after installation. But running a new os on a old device like this it's probably something expected.
Great rom tho. Didn't test it thoroughly tho.

[ROM][5.0.2][mb886] CyanogenMod 12.0 (Unofficial)

Hi guys,
I successfully built CM12 off the official cyanogenmod source. All of dhackers builds in the past have thrown status 1 errors on our phone, so this is the closest thing to official cyanogenmod lollipop we have at the moment.
All credit goes to dhacker29 and the rest of the razrqcom / cyanogen dev team. All I did was set up a build environment and built straight from the source. I used no hacks, tweaks or mods to get this to build.
I'll try to build new builds occasionally, but I'm pretty busy so can't commit to making regular nightlies or anything.
Code:
[B]Instructions:[/B]
Download the latest zip (cm-12-*-UNOFFICIAL-mb886.zip) to your phone.
Boot to recovery.
Remember to make a Nandroid backup!
Format /system. (Some recoveries have this as "Wipe Data/Factory Reset > Clean to Install a New ROM") (You can try doing a "dirty flash" without formatting system but I don't recommend it)
Install the ROM (install zip from...).
Install gapps (install zip from...).
Wipe data/cache
Reboot.
First boot can take some time due to ART in lollipop.

Please don't use SuperSU, it does not help the CM12 debugging at all (and it's been already reported as a cause of battery drain). The CM built-in su can be easily enabled under Developer options>Root access, it works just fine.

thanks for the rom.. will try it out and post feedback
Any known bugs?
Dirty updated from Miiju CM12 and seems to work fine. The ROM is smooth and solid. Reboot time is noticable longer than on Mijuu's build, maybe connected with the new bootscreen. Haven't noticed any bugs yet. Thanks for the great job.
PS. The new CM bootscreen is ugly  - imho of course. However, previous wasn't the masterpiece too .
Does this have the new theme engine? Good job bro you should maintain cm12 and let dhacker know.
Really laggy and random reboots
I made a clean flash of this build. It was smooth for first 30 to 40 seconds after that **** laggy and rebooted twice in 20 minutes.. i also experiences screen tearing. bugs are same as that of other builds though.
Great! I will try it tonight and report back. Thanks!

Theme engine implemented and works!
As far as being device maintainer, I'm definitely open to it but I'm not sure if I'm qualified enough to do it. If there were functional problems and things that break I don't really think I have the knowledge to fix those... All I really did here was follow some build guides and build this. But if you think that's all I need, I'll definitely consider it.

Aingaran I've also experienced some occasional reboots and force closes of google play services. Not so much the lag though. However, the rom seem significantly smoother if you use Launcher3 instead of Google Now launcher from my limited experience so far.

Nice job with the build, Im going to flash this thing tonight and report whats happening with this rom
Thank you for doing this for us.
Edit: Clean flashed rom without gapps: smooth as it should be, seems noticeably faster than LS
Now with Banks gapps: Still as fast with no random reboots yet. Looking great so far. I wonder if the bugs are gapps related for some of you people then.
Antutu benchmark for mb886: 19544, thats as fast as mijuus cm12, great job man.
Bugs: Chromecast cannot mirror, its the same OMX-720p error from log cat, its now a bug with dhackers builds. Mijuus doesnt have that at all, probably a hack . Im maybe wrong it could go away on its own. But its something to do with that which is causing the AvSource to fail with this error: w/err = -38
Overall this rom is as stable as it can be, there isn't any other bug I could find but that one, I did try mirror enabler for the previous one, it didn't affect anything. Speedy fast and simplistic, great job on this first build. Keeping that one as a daily driver until then.
Good job!
Thank you! :good:

Try it with Banks, it makes your rom the way it is. I haven't even ran into a crash, I pushed this device pretty hard and its still not rebooting, came close though.
As for the future builds of this rom, maybe the problem will go away as time goes on, idk but I think I found a way around it.
Wow a cm recovery, but im happy for my philz but sooner or later this recovery will be needed to flash newer roms. Blisspop from droidrazr requires this recovery for some odd reason.
Plus its late for me anyway.
Great job on this rom and the recovery Thank you.:good:
Awesome, Thanks!

As far as battery life, not sure. I used the phone all day today from about 10 to 9 and was at around 40% at the end of the day. Granted, I have an upgraded EB40 battery.

Best stable ROM for mi3w

Hi,
I am using Ivan's AOSP latest build at the moment. I want to switch to another custom ROM. Which is the best ROM with high battery backup, most stable, best performance and features . Although I would appreciate some cool animations and stuff, I want the above said features as priority.
What about Mokee and cm 12.1?
Which one is better?
And suggest better options if any.
Thank you

Try the Paranoid Android 5.1.1 by synnyG http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/development/cancro-t3120485
Its very stable, fast and fluid. Battery life is pretty good, able to get through a full day on regular use. Camera quality is much much better than Ivan's AOSP build, and installing the Color OS camera port is a good idea. A few bugs exists though, but for me these were negligible compared to the lollipop goodness I was getting.
1. The Audio quality through the speaker is not like stock or Ivans AOSP, I guess this is true for other Mi3 custom roms as well. You can find fixes for this, but they merely increase the volume in the mixer_paths.xml file - quality is still not at par with stock.
2. No SIM Bug. It's there for many Lollipop based ROM's. There is a simple workaround so its not much of an issue (switch on Airplane Mode before reboot to solve the issue). Fixes via flashable zip are available on XDA as well.
Overall its a great ROM and I'm using it as my daily driver after having switched from Ivan's AOSP (KK).
SlimBit-AOSP
Hi,
coming from Ivan's AOSP you could try Bitti's SlimBit AOSP, it's fast and stable. No call drops or random reboots. I can highly recommend it.
[OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 12.1
i'm very happy with OFFICIAL CM 12.1.
i've been using it for 3 weeks and have yet to discover a single bug! not a single reboot, no SIM bug, it's great. battery life is great, at least 24h in my case. it's very smooth, too.
one of the advantages of official CM is that you get daily/weekly updates that automatically dirty flash themselves.
others are: stock android look, lots of customisations, no bloatware, beautiful and easily installable cyanogenmod themes.
#edit:
its XDA thread is the one with (by far) the most replies (almost 1'200), indicating that there is a large community behind it. many bugs are being reported efficiently and fixed. see for example its BUG PAGE.
I use aosp and it is awesome
Mokee 10/30 Release
ZERO ROM-related bugs.
did anyone try AOSP+RRO rom ?
Another vote for Mokee latest release (10/30) - rock solid performance, no errors and no headache. Xposed works fine.

Metallium rom. Try it.
all i want is a custom rom with ambient display or similar, no sod, no major bugs, slim recents....actively maintained
not looking for any funky features
thats about it..... are there any rom that can do that?
Metallium rom. very good:good::good::good:.
Cm 12.1 nightlies... very stable with almost all important features working
RR is also an option
Previously is Blisspop, since it is not updated and now is Mokee

Hi,
I am using Ivan's AOSP latest build at the moment. I want to switch to another custom ROM. Which is the best ROM with high battery backup, most stable, best performance and features . Although I would appreciate some cool animations and stuff, I want the above said features as priority.
What about Mokee and cm 12.1?
Which one is better?
And suggest better options if any.
Thank you

You said ZERO bugs and I was like NICE and installed it. Now I cant install some apps like Muzei live wallpaper and minima live wallpaper apps. Says "This version is not compatible with the device." Any help?

Those are not ROM-related bugs. Clear data/cache of google play app or update gapps.

Battery and speed in CM 4.4 vs 5.1 vs 6.0

Hi. i want to know where i can get best speed and battery. I want to know your experience
And please only cm stats
On 4.4.4 (kitkat based rom) I was able to get 3 days battery backup, for performance I like 6.0 stock
Just to mention I have never been able to like any Rom based on Lollipop firmware
I would say, marshmallow>Kitkat>lollipop (cm official with default kernel)
The last CM 12.1 nightlies are very stable and I get easily 4-5 hours of SoT (some users report even more 6h), which is enough for me, and I definitely can't complain about performance which is great. For me the best rom for G2 so far.
Hmm thanks you :v Waiting for more because your opinions are contradictory
Best mix of performance and battery so far: Minimal OS 5.1.1. Have to say that I haven´t checked out marshmallow til now, I´m very satisfied with this rom and don´t have a reason to change atm.
Stock marshmallow soak test is the best so far, and i´ve flashed A LOT of roms.
CM :
4.4 : I haven't tested long enough to decide on anything.
5.1 : Snapshots are really stable and pretty balanced.
6.0 : Using Vatsals Optimised Builds. Its amazing. Check his new Rom /Kernel thread for info.
I can get like 5 hours of screen on time with CM 12.1 and a nice performance
Just installed cm 12.1. It's little laggy.
Thanks for answers i will test minimal os and check Vatsals Optimised Builds (also i'll add this to the Index :v).
Waiting for more :v
Battery is awesome in Marshmallow with doze mode. Even the performance has been great.

You are awesome like this rom! Thanks you very very much dude. I love this rom. I can have 5 apps in background and 0 lag. When I open 3 apps on cm11 everything gets laggy and unusable. 6.0 is broken by now (apps not working)
Anyway minimal os don't have massaging app and camera xD
Its "Minimal" Os, it'll be as minimalistic as possible.
So I switched over from Vatsals Opti Cm Builds to Tamaseks Unofficial Cm 13 and I've got to say. Its kinda good. Some things good and some bad (the usual). But still its in its early stages so can't expect much from MM. Gone back to LP for now.
