I rooted mine by installing the recovery from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-hd/28-02-2014-t2595673
After I installed it, I went to recovery and then selected reboot. It offered to root it, I of course said yes and it was then done!

i used vroot on rooting my e120s. its easy to use.

[Q] How to root Galaxy S GT-i9000T?

Has anyone been able to root Galaxy S GT-i9000T? I've tried all the methods for i9000 International version and it doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
you need to update and edit the update.zip for rooting
to include your new model
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728754
I just tried to edit the update.zip more specific the updater-script and created the update.zip again with an update.zip manger that i found on the forum. But i get an installation aborted error in recovery mode. I think my phone is branded or had one of those root protected firmwares. In the post you added they talked about reflashing to a recognized rooted firmware, but i dont know because my model is different
Any advice?

I am from Argentina and I have a i9000t
which has 850mhz band
you have to flash I9000UGJH2

Web:http://www.samsungfirmwareworld.com
which is the latest firmware update for Canada
then you can flash I9000XXJPC Froyo 2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769400
But this step does not select the CSC
changing our band 850mhz 3g
thus said the fastest
and tried almost all firmwares that are in the web
It is not yet available for us CSC JPH SIN 850mhz

Many thanks for this, I have been struggling since I got my galaxy last week. "and what Galaxy do YOU have?" so many versions of the same phone......
We just got them in Bermuda last week and I thought it would have been an unlocked international version.......oh well, it is unlocked but not to North America.
Next question would be 2.2 and should I even try..........yet.........or wait.
Thanks again
Just completed the speed test and over 2000 now!

Did you even read the sticky? If its still no rooted, try flashing a new stock rom via Odin and try rooting it again using the method mentioned in the sticky. Just in case you didn't understand what I'm rambling about here...the magic word of the day for you is.... 'STICKY'.
????????
No idea what u r rambling about .... no idea what u mean by STICKY, but i am new to the mobile chatter.
but i read the instructions yes .... and they seem to work with some phones and not with others ...
they do not work with mine and that's why i asked was there any root instructions that will work on 2.3.4 galaxy ace (DDKQ3) ...
so far, NO ONE has said YES.
Sticky means the sticky thread at the top of the galaxy ace forum. It has phone specific tutorials.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA
Wow how unhelpful are you
I also have galaxy ace on 2.3.4 purchased in late march. The current methods for rooting don't seem to work anymore. The person who started the thread and myself would like some helpful advice from some1 who knows something about how this stuff work. Cause we don't and that's why we post!
Flash the attachments, and you've got root access. I've been using them for 2.3.4 as well as 2.3.6. Works like a charm.
Oh, and BTW, these are from the STICKY thread!
EDIT: I take you know what FLASHING means?! If not then go learn that first before you go any further. And use the SEARCH option. It's not there for baking biscuits!
I have tried to flash:
AceGingerRoot.zip
Root.zip
Universal_GB_ROOT.zip
Update.zip
upd_1.zip
None of these actually work. The root.zip you recommend comes up with an error the aborts.
I have S5830T and I just purchased this last month so things may have changed since you rooted your device. I'll try recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip after I research what it actually does (OMG - Yes I'll use the STICKY).
I hope you realise that if it waas as simple as flashing the root.zip that we would not actually need to post and ask for help!

Well, if Flashing doesn't work try to push all the stuff using ADB. It never fails. And that root.zip, I've been using it since day 1 and still use it whenever I flash to stock using ODIN. Never stopped working for Me. Try the ADB method, and report back. Let's hope for the best. And if possible post the log of the error which you get during Recovery flash.

- It is meant for noobs but it doesn't explain the process of rooting, flashing with ODIN or CMW in any detail (it just says do it!)
- The links are all broken
- There is information from many different people making no sense to anyone new to smartphones
I mean are you ****ing kidding me!!! What a mess!!!!

I just want to put in proxy settings so I can use my WIFI at work, but I have to ROOT!!! WHY!!!!!!

It didn't work, however I noticed that when I boot into recovery I get the error
"applying Multi CSC Can't access to '/system/csc/TLP/system"

I think this means I have to flash back to stock!
If so can you point me in the right direction for a ROM (I already have ODIN)

Noob HELP! : Softbricked my GTAB 8.9 GT-P7300... :(

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for their very useful posts! I 'kinda' understand now what everyone here is talking about...Kinda...
Anyway, I just bought my 8.9 around two weeks ago and decided to upgrade my OS to 3.2. I tried it through Kies, but Kies was not able to recognize my device, tried OTA update but was not able to connect to server...So I tried manually updating it myself, and now, based on what I read here, I think I softbricked my GTAB...The boot screen keeps loading and it does not want to push through...
My TAB is not rooted, and based from the threads that I have read here, i need to root my TAB first but unfortunately, I could not do that anymore..
Can someone please help me out? Noob here...Would really appreciate a step-by-step Noob guide on how to fix my tab...Thank you so much in advance!

To restore functionality (and I mean to enter the ROM itself) you must use ODIN. There are several images to select in the Development forum for your 7300 unit. A how-to use it is also available in my signature's guide. Don't worry about your SDcard contents, ODIN doesn't touch them, but it does delete the apps.
ok, i tried odin3 v1.85 and I downloaded a stock rom from sammy thats suppose to be compatible for my region. ODIN status was fail after a few seconds and I got a 'binary' error message in my TAB.
I'll try and read your how-to use now..
My tabs not rooted...will that be a problem?

No, root is independent of the device's bootloader, so no, it is not related. You can try any image as long as it's 7300.
sorry, noob question...when you say 'image', your talking about the .tar file right? so as long as its 7300, it should work?

Hello,
I'm with you in the "SCL21, I need help" department. Some info for you though, the international versions are in fact, very different. and the docomo version is too. DON'T use the docomo root method, it will brick your phone.
you can, however use the TeamEpic CWM recovery method. or the Mskip's Toolkit method. I've used both, and it flashes just fine. The problem I run into, is when I try to boot into recovery...the phone doesn't load. It gets stuck with an upside down SGS III logo. It will load into the normal android though. good luck. and if I come across a good method, I'll let you know. you're not alone.

Yup, I'm there, too. If there's anybody out there with the Japanese AU version that hasn't already made this mistake, it would be great if they could pull the stock recovery from it with Odin... maybe if we had that, we could revive ours. I can still get to download mode, so there's still hope, right?

You might try the following links to restore your phone. I am looking at getting the same phone this month or next, so very curious if anyone succeeds in restoring.

The second link requires an unmodified phone, so you might have to ask around your network and see if anyone can help. Good luck!

If you happen to be able to restore your phone and wanna give it another crack. Maybe try the CWM all variants tar and see if it gets you any further. Unfortunately I can't post outside links yet, so you'll have to google for it!
Make sure to follow the directions! ;-D
If you guys are wanting to try other cwm root methods, I would choose one of the Qualcomm S4 root methods, namely either the Verizon, Us Cellular or Sprint as those would be the closest to this model. I would certainly doublecheck the partition table first though.
Oh, and if/when you guys do get root, would any of you mind pulling your radio partition? I'm curious about something with it.
Edit: Scratch that. I'm heading over to Samfirmware.com for the files, if you need to ODIN to stock, head over there and you can pull the files to restore your device.
SCL21 Conflicting reports :/
Hi everyone,
I just got the SCL21 about two weeks ago. I think it's really strange that even on the Japanese forums, there is very little info on rooting this model. From everything I've found, some Japanese sites also both say it's OKAY to root using the Docomo SC-06D recovery and Superuser zip while others say that it's NOT safe to use that same method and it will result in a bricked phone. Really odd, conflicting messages!
I know that some people successfully rooted by flashing the SC-06D custom recovery and then Superuser zip. But, it it also seems like many have ended up with a bricked phone while using this "Docomo method". I tried Bin4ry’s Root and Restore v30 but no luck installing Superuser after the ADB push from the Windows command prompt completed.
I just found the Team Epic CWM recovery method but according to Bopatriot, it flashes fine and then won't boot into recovery. Anyone have any ideas why this model phone is so difficult to root successfully?
Thanks guys!
Any Luck?
I was able to find a post somewhere about the stock rom for it that works with the SCL21 phone but, it was still 4.0.4(epic fail). Anyone have any luck finding 4.1+?
Repeat this is I9305 forum no information on other phones .
Try sammobile.com
4.1.2 was officially released for this phone just this week. Grab it OTA or from SamMobile and flash it.
If you need to root, the SC-06D method works fine.

If you need to root, the SC-06D method works fine.

[SOLVED][GT-P1000]rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10

Hi, two days ago I've soft bricked my tab: GT-P1000(SPAIN/VODAFONE).And yesterday I successfully unbricked it using these files:
P1000BUJQ5_P1000ATLJQ1_ATL.zip
P1_add_hidden.pit
When I tried to boot it just got stuck on the samsung logo, I saw some tutorials saying that you should Factory Reset it, but I got this Error:
rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10
Please I really need some help
Thanks in advance.
please I need help

Yeah I used that guide to unbrick my Tab, it successfully unbricked but I got stuck in the samsung logo.
I tried to factory reset but that error showed up.
Well can I still flash it with dbdata?
I solved the problem, I flashed using dbdata.rfs.tar and I could run GB 2.3.6
You can mark this thread as solved.

I have the same problem.
May i know where to download dbdata.rfs.tar ?
After downloading what should I do? Do I need .PIT files?
Thank you
I had the same issues as you guys. Gingerbread is so freakin unstable its not funny. I want to get off it but there seems to be no normal way to do this for my particular tab? Cause all the guides and recommendations I have followed do NOT work. I have posted my own thread in this section and have had not a single person reply? Is this place dead now? Are there no XDA members out there who are able to help?
Question. If a bootloader is locked at Froyo and you flash an unlocked Gingerbread bootloader is it now unlocked?
Anyway to the guy above me the attachment should be able to help you. Flash it with Odin as PDA :good:

Thank you Jamez. Appreciate.
So I just upload the attached file right?
---------- Post added at 01:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:30 PM ----------
I came across the following blog
galaxytabupdate.blogspot.sg
But note that gingerbird 2.3.3 link is not working redirecting to some video downloader.
Also the dbdata file size seems lot different.

That was the one that I used that allowed my device to boot. I also noted that this file was a different size to the one in the stock firmware that I downloaded. I also found out that no matter how much I tried I could not get the device to even boot using stock carrier branded firmware? So yeah that is as much as I can give you mate. I am a n00b in these areas (have dev'd for SGS1 and a number of other devices but I am n00b here in Galaxy Tab section) so I am still learning about this device.
