I think even with accidental coverage warranty you have to pay some amount. Depending on amount of time passed since purchased. Correct me if I am wrong.

Its full one year accidental coverage without paying any more. Everything is included in the original price. I reconfirmed from the Samsung Customer Care: 0800 72678

Try flashing through Odin it will not trip knox counter and therefore your warranty will be intact. Search for the latest Pakistan firmware "N910CXXU1ANK5_N910COJV1ANK5_PAK" and you will find it on Sam Mobile website. Gets its free membership and then you can proceed to download - 1.5 GB file

Install the app from Play Store called "Phone Info" you will get all the useful information in one go. Knox "0x0" is knox intact but "0x1" is knox tripped. Please also do check with Warid they might have altered the cell site projection which could be reason for the lower signals. 2 bars on LTE is pretty good signal and can carry a lot of bandwidth which is available from the servers

Note 4 with 2k screen and a powerful processor balances and equals Galaxy S5 in battery life with lower screen resolution and leaner processor and GPU. Kind of battery that you require is if 8 - 8.5 hours SOT then you need to go lower on spec or get a handset which has a huge battery. Such as Huawei ascend mate 7. But doing this you will loose the performance and top notch camera and features.
Its all about balancing between specs, features and battery where Galaxy Note 4 stands taller than any other smart phone

Hey guys.. Here it is..
Vodafone Delhi(India) gives free 3G data usage for 2 months to a person who buys a new Galaxy S3.. now, my brother bought an S3 and as soon as he inserted his SIM card, he received a msg from Vodafone within a couple of hours activating 3G for free..
Now, I have a Galaxy Note and I want Vodafone to believe that I just bought a new S3 and get free 3G. I know it is possible as it is just a software mod. All help will be hugely appreciated. Can this be done by editing build.prop file?
My Galaxy Note is fully rooted with Kingdroid 5.1.1 rom and NoteCore 4.2 kernel..
Thanks
it will be the IMEI which tells vodafone that its an S3, If you start tampering with your IMEI you can expect a hefty punishment !
Just pay fairly like the rest of the world..................or buy an s3 ?
In india 3g is quite cheaper, and afaik it offer just 1gb/month for 2 month n costing just less thn 8$
For such small amount why you shud tamper your valuable device

Who is getting the S 5 Active?

Just saw that the S 5 Active is available for At&t today. I'm taking my S 5 back tomorrow and getting the Active. I'm in landscaping so having a rugged phone is important. Plus this one is getting really hot and draining battery to fast. It wasn't like that at first. Called At&t and they said im at my 13th day. Cut off is 14 days to return so I just made it. Will update and let you guys know.

the MIL Spec gives it a slightly higher shock resistent rating however the IP spec is identical to the S5 which means water resistant to about 1 meter and my guess is that it gained the MIL Spec rating only do to the case suround nothing more. IMHO not worth the switch from the standard S5 just buy an otter box case and you'll get as good if not better protection.
EDIT: From the AT&T Website Specs on the S5 Active
2. Water-resistant and dustproof based on IP67 rating. Submersible up to 1m (3 ft) of water for up to 30 mins with covers tightly closed. Rinse to remove residue. Meets US Mil-STD 810G for shock, temperature, humidity, rain and altitude. Device may not perform as shown in all extreme conditions.

I see. There is a extra button above the volume buttons. They also took out the finger scanner. I'm still thinking about it honestly. I just get mad every time I buy a new phone 5 days later they come out with an updated one or Active. LOL.....I like the camo green active look though. Like I said , Im still debating on it. Are you considering the 15% or $50 AT&T restocking fee if you would be subject to when returning within 14 days?

Instead of getting an active i rather get a T-mobile S5 with the unlocked bootloader. But the active looks solid...literally.
Well, hopefully any future exploits found for the AT&T version of the GS5, will also apply to the GS5 Active.
I ordered one yesterday. I wasn't sold on the S5 cause I have a note 3 and just passed up on it. The S5 active is something that can useful for me.
The mentality is when buying a retail phone I don't ever expect it to get unlocked or gain root access. If I want that then I look for developer editions. So when I get it I except it as is with TW, bloat and all without complaints lol.

I've been more than happy with them since the Cingular days.
I have decided to stay with my S 5 and not get the Active. Looks like Samsung is moving some devices to Tizen software. WTF is that? No more Android on Samsung devices in the future? WTH Samsung. Really? http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/06/02/android-is-clearly-dead-now-samsung-announces-its-first-tizen-smartphone/
In Slovakia its possible to buy it, but its not cheap or nice...
Mine will be here tomorrow. From all the videos I've seen, it looks nice. I seriously doubt Samsung will abandon Android for the North American and European markets. That would be a serious no-no.
I'd take the s5 back if I could. I've owned many Samsung products, this is by far the worst in my opinion. Using Swype, the keyboard lags so bad. The phone itself gets very laggy at time's and I have to reboot it.
Reminds me of the old BlackBerry days when you had to do a battery pull a couple time's a day.
Only upside to this phone is the camera in my opinion.

Those who have the note 4, I need your oppinon.

I currently have the LG G3 and after seeing the note 4 in person I want one . I guess my main question is should I hold off or do you guys think that its worth it to move on from the G3. I was a note 3 user and loved the phone, but Samsung really pissed me off with the whole Knox garbage that they implemented. In advance I am sorry if this thread is out of place, I just wanted some feedback from current owners.
huh? why do you even care about knox?
Came from a g3 and the note is better

Burned my knox fuse less than 24 hours in. Who cares?

Well in the event that I need my phone serviced, my concern is that I will be denied warranty by either T-mobile or Samsung. I honesty considered this a shifty move to use this as a reason to deny warranty claims....I might be wrong because I never have had to send my note 3 in for warranty purposes anyway. I miss how easy it was to connect to my samsung smart tv with the note 3, with the lg g3 it never streams well.
I also came from a G3. Had 2 of them, gave my wife one and sold mine on Craigslist and used the money to get the Note 4 which I'm using now. The Note 4 is a better device. The Snapdragon 805 handles the 2K display better and the battery is also better. Phone also doesn't heat up as much as the G3. The display being LED is also better then the LCD in my opinion with colors popping or u can dim the colors down in display settings.
If your able to obtain a Note 4 I say go for it. The Note 4 is a better device and will have more Development behind it vs the G3.
If you can't upgrade your not missing much.
In my opinion the Note 4 / Nexus 6 / G3 are the best devices currently on the market. Note 4 having an edge with the LED display and Stylus.

I am on the old jump plan and I have one upgrade left for the year so I am able to upgrade. You mentioned the note 4 doesn't heat up as much as the G3, that was one of my concerns and thanks for clearing that up. Using the phone for the torque app or navigation really fires up the g3, almost too hot. How loaded with bloat is touchwiz this time around?
I have the Note 4 and it is a great phone. It has replaced my OnePlus One as my main phone. The Note 4 is definitely better than the One, but only marginally. It isn't 450.00 better. Not for my usage at least.
its crazy bright! i dimmed it to like 5% and its still pretty bright lol
The charge is quite fast compared to the N3
Ive played around with the G3 and i6+, Note4 has better build quality imo although it doesnt look that way in videos. you have to hold it to believe it.
Metal bezel makes it a little slippery but the leather back, which feels a lot better than N3, helps offset it.
N4 wouldve been the perfect phone if the "Samsung" logo in the front is removed, quite distracting
I just upgraded from Galaxy S4 and I love it! I rooted day 1 and have no regrets.

T-mobile uses experian for warranties and jump related trades, didn't they recently implement a policy to no longer accept any device with a tampered flag, rooted, etc for warranty and or jump purposes. This implementation also includes devices with tripped knox flags. I'm not trying to be a bummer or anything I just try to think ahead.

| came from the G3 as well. while the G3 was a nice phone I think the note 4 beats it. The Screen is better, battery life trumps the G3, and personally I like how the note 4 feels in the hand. One thing l do like more on the G3 is how they were able to fit the screen in such a small body.

Technically Tmobile can cover warranty for Samsung devices instead of you having to send it to Samsung. I forget what it's called but as long as your device is within the manufacturers 1 year warranty, tmobile can advance replace you one for $20. The defective device goes back to Tmobile. If you don't return the defective phone they charge you I think $200. I did this with my note 3 a few months ago when the screen on/off sensor broke.

I never bought any warranty/insurance from tmobile. I thought the basic 1 year warranty was that I can return to tmobile within 30 days and the rest of the year will be covered by samsung.
I will definitely be rooting ASAP if tmobile covers the entire year without me buying insurance from them.

T-Mobile Replacement process

I'm new to t-mo, and I'm gonna need a replacement (i'm just not getting the same battery life as others, regardless of what rom \ kernel combo i use final step is replacement).
How is the process?
how's the quality of the replacement units?
Is anyone using a replacement unit?
Edit: Would like your input ASAP as i'm possibly ordering the replacement today
(former Verizon customer, where CLNR (certified like new replacements aka refurbished) were trash and expected to fail as soon as humanly possible)
The replacement process is fairly painless.
Just call 611 and don't tell them you are rooted.
Odin to stock. Factory reset for good measure.
They send you a new phone and you send in the old one. You usually get an extra back cover and battery out of the process.
I never have received a refurbished unit, but others may have.

Thank you for your advice sir.
Kind of doing this out of not finding any other solutions to my battery woes.
Def gonna do this, they are charging me a 5$ warranty fee? (never experienced such with verizon)
Have you tried a different battery?
You might just have a bad battery.
I'm on firekat v10, and my battery life has never been better on any device.

Haven't tried a different battery. I have done spin test and tested it via multimeter and all came out well.
Got a couple replacements. All were "refurbs" but they were pretty much new with all the plastics unpeeled. I didnt have a battery issue, so standard shipped is just the unit without battery, cover, stylus. I just use what I had on original and send my old unit back in the same box. It was painless and I didnt have to sacrifice my phone first, just waited for the replacement to come in.
The downside to the replacements that come with no extra cushioning, the Note has moveable parts in the camera since its got an optical stabilizer. Got 2 duds that where I had to slap the phone in order to focus (apparently a common problem). So on the 3rd replacement, it was all good. I'm still a happy camper, as long as it didnt cost me, I was good.

I actually rooted and rom-ed all of them. LOL! But I odined back to stock before sending it back. Still triggered knox, but oh well...
just flash a stock looking rom like firekat and send it back; Tmobile couldnt care less if you are rooted or tripped knox
I got a replacement Note 4 from T mobile a month or so after the Note 4 was released. The phone did not come with a back cover nor anything else. Although it appeared new, it still had the factory screen saver on as well as the side bezel covers. There was an app that tests for refurbishment which indicated my unit was new. Not that it matters as I sent it back and kept my original one.
As I was not a jump customer they wanted to charge me quiete a few for postage ( I think $20 ) and processing, and it also took a week. They tried to sell me jump, by saying if I had jump it would have only cost me $5 and that I'd get priority mail 3 days. I dont buy into that rheteric, that also is not very Uncarrier of them - my opinion.
I dont rate their replacement program at all, only because they dont offer centers whereby you could walk in and get it swapped out like ATT. As well as them charging a premium to swap a defective phone.
And as for madmike23 not paying for replacement I guess he got that fee waived. Like I did. But like I said they charge for this service.

What is replacing the device gonna do in this instance .....sigh this is why rates go up and up every year.....stop comparing yourself to others and worry about you. Get a new battery, two even it's removable. You could have poor coverage so battery drain or app running in background etc your usage isn't the same as the nexts, and I hope they deny your claim.
I was gonna say something else and it slipped my mind but I digress

Got mine replaced about 3 months after getting it due to my screen cracking. I received a new replacement not refurbished along with new battery, wall charger with adapter, headphone, battery cover and new sim card. I originally had a White Note 4 and because they didn't have any White ones in stock they sent me a Titanium/Gray color one. I paid $175 for the replacement so I called of course to complain and was given a $30 credit towards my account, so I really only paid $145 fore the new replacement which ain't bad if you ask me.

I never heard of ATT allowing a direct swap in store unless you're within the return period.

And who said T-Mobile will replace or replaces phones? The only way that ever happens is if you're still within the return policy timeframe which I believe is 14 days from date of purchase.

What is replacing the device gonna do in this instance .....sigh this is why rates go up and up every year.....stop comparing yourself to others and worry about you. My coverage is fine, I don't live in the boonies.
Actually rooting doesn't affect battery life, this is completely unfounded, and to entertain your thoughtless theory sir, i already went back to stock and tested it there too, same exact results.
I'm not claiming a phone insurance claim, WARRANTY, as i wrote.

Samsung sends T-Mobile returned re manufactured phones to use for in-warranty replacement options . Same process as verizon and all carriers as this is a industry agreement.

Mine was not "refurbished" it came with the original screen protector my original one came with. But I don't see your point.

ATT has stores specifically for device replacement. Well they did two years ago when I was with them.

and you paid for yours, hence why it was a asurion replacement. Sometimes they are new, sometimes they are refurb. You got lucky.

i don't believe they have that anymore. Verizon used to 3 years ago as well.

this phone looks awesome BUT BIG FAIL

I see this phone last week, and was impressed by this MONSTER
first thing I do is taking my credit card and search on net for a good seller, i know this phone is on sale only at 12may
but my biggest surprise was his LTE capabilities.... really ?? a monster spec flagship phone... with only FDD LTE: 1800/2100/2600MHz ???
only 3 categories ?... i want this phone .... but without 800mhz (cat20) it will be a fail in many europe countries ...
and one strange thing too: this phone is announced nothere on the official website... why ?
Most xaomi phones are only meant for China, from what I've heard, and so only support Chinese bands, and nothing else.
It's quite a shame, since I'd happily buy this over the zenfone 2 if it came to the US.

i want the zenphone 2 too, but after realising than Asus will not release the bootloader, and can't install custom roms, this phone is not for me ...
I pre ordered an Elephone P7000

1) Where did you get the idea that Asus won't release the bootloader?
2) The phone has barely been out. Give it some time for ROMs, they don't pop up overnight.
3) The P7k is also somewhat tempting, that's true [emoji14]

Got two of these bad boys coming one for me and one for a friend of mine. I should have them by the end of this month as I got them on a pre-order.
Xiaomi mi note pro 4G LTE can not work in the USA.
I know that it will work in United Kingdom as I checked the bands.

I am in the UK using a Mi Note (not Pro) which supports the same bands and it works like a dream.

1. Yes, all menus are in English when the system language is English.
2. Ordered from aliexpress for 640 USD
3. Not sure if you mean with the shipment or if you break the device.
4. Battery life could be better honestly. I can get through the day, however I'm only getting about 4 hours SOT if I'm lucky. I was able to reach that point with my Nexus 5.

Thanks for the reply
for point number 3 I meant if there are any warranty issues with the device.
for point number 4 I was looking on GSM arena and they showed the mi note as around 49 hours battery life which doesn't seem that good overall considering the mi note pro has a higher res screen.

Ah ok. Well as far as warranty goes, that would likely have to go through the 3rd party seller. So if they don't offer any type of warranty, you might be out of luck there. But yes the high res screen definitely has an impact on batter life. But it all depends on how you use your device I suppose. I can make it through the day and that is the important part for me
Can I trust buying from Oppomart, I don't really know much about them.
