Use a SM-N9005 on AT&T?

I have a sm-n9005 and I'm trying to use it on at&t. I bought the sim card and literally just got the prepaid plan. my data isn't working though. The at&t guy said my phone is blocking the data. I can make and receive calls. I think he was trying to get me out the store. Can someone help me on getting data working?

Go to the settings menu and select more networks, then mobile networks. Make sure the data box is checked. Then check the apn (access point names) settings and make sure they are the same as your prepaid network.

Does your network have LTE available?
*edit: If you're using Du or Etisalat I guess it would be available.

Thanks for your response sir. Yes we do have LTE here and im using etisalat, but when i navigate to network settings it does not show an LTE or 4g option. Im thinking because ive bought this d955 which is europe model unlike some other folks here using the d958.but while comparing the LTE bands its almost the same with mine . I dont know exactly how to check it..

Due to the fact that you bought EU version there is possibility that 4G mode will be disabled by software. On other models it's possible to unlock it by editig build.prop file or you can try to change mode by using *#*#4636#*#* (I'm not sure if it works on this model) code and then choose LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto mode.
There were no LTE option there its just wifi option .battery, phone status and statistics only..i hope it would be possible..thanks for the tips btw.

Go to Phone Status and then you will find preffered network mode...
It's not the best solution because each restart require enabling 4G mode from beggining but it's better then nothing
Good luck!!!

To start, whats the network coverage in your areas for the provider your using? Have you done a coverage check to see if your in a 4g area?

You Should have correct APN settings from your provider to get LTE and you should be in LTE coverage area.
You should Select Bands According to your network provider. Or on auto mode..
Use 5457#*955# code to get hidden menu
It shows invalid mmi when i put that code in ?

Use 3845#*955# and go to "LTE- Only" settings.
Also send me ur stock Build.prop and featureset.XML file to read settings.
I type the 8845#*955# at the phone dialer and it givesme coection problem or invalid mmi. Is the build prop on abkut phones because i have build number jdq39b?
3845#*955#
Check for numbers again. Your are using wrong code
Sorry i am typing 3845#*955# then talk and it says mmi is wrong when i dial that code

I'm confused: is it a MetroPCS sim or a T-Mobile sim?

Video Calling

Were is video calling on mm. Not showing up when I make a call to wife and we both have note 4, but Im on MM and she is on LP.
It's on both LP and MM.

Make sure both phones have VoLTE set-up properly. Also, if T-Mobile is having temporary VoLTE issues, or if one of you is not in a VoLTE area, it may be temporarily unavailable.

Are you on the Tmobike network/TMO SIM card? There's no setting for it. It's just there!

I can honestly say I have never seen it on mine either. Wife and I are both on tmo. I've flashed stock and roms (all TW based) many times and never have seen it on any version of the firmware.

The settings appear different, now - here's the original discussion on the features of Advanced Messaging and Video Calling with 5.1.1 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/help/5-1-1-advanced-messaging-t3266192
Video calling is an option for me when connected to either WiFi or LTE. As for the VoLTE settings, the only settings I see now are 'VoLTE Preferred', under the 'Call' settings (in the contacts or dialer menu). If you are doing everything right, and it's not working, I can only guess it may be a lack of LTE coverage in your area - Maybe double-check if your phone reports a 4G or 4G-LTE connection. Good luck - I hope you get it working!
