I rebooted because the touch screen wasn't responding so had to restore and now i can't get passed the Welcome screens without touching it does any one know any tricks??

I was just trying to get in the actually phone i was use a factory restore it isnt upgrade to the 1.5 yea i dont believe but i cant get pass the welcome tap ;(
I am a rookie the G1 but not to HTC, I just would like to use the phone w/o the touchscreen being that its not working as of now and I dont know why unless some one had it in water without me knowing ;/

oh sorry, i was going to say for a quick fix if you were trying to flash cyanogen's 4.1.11.1 rom then i have uploaded a nandroid of a clean version that is passed the tap the android but not set up for anything else, sorry i don't know if you can get past the finger the green guy part without actually pressing it.
so can i flash it to cyanogen's 4.1.11.1 rom? because i can update.zip but i dont know how everything works, or is the phone a no go?

I'm new to sgs and android,so hopefully this is a noob problem and easily fixed and not something more complex.I've searched and read alot of posts and not found another problem similar,so maybe someone can help.
Got the phone recently and flashed Darkys v7.0 and very impressed by the rom.
Basically my incoming calls dont show up,when an incoming call happens,i get a vibrate and some sort of notification flashes on the screen for an instant then disappears,then my network signal drops out.
I've tried another sim and different service provider,same problem which indicates some issue with phone,have triple checked all my settings in call settings,answering is enabled.
I can make calls,sent and recieve sms messages and connect to net/mail via my 3g,so cant figure out whats going on.Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, same thing here with me. First, I flashed 7,5 and the problem appeared. This mornig I put new rom 7.6 but still problem remains. Everything works, but incoming calls dont. Im trying to capture message that flashes quickly, but with no sucess...
SOLVED!!!
Factory reset did the thing. Calls are incoming as they should. (setings->privacy->factory reset)

Hey i have tried this and have possibly bricked my phone as all im getting is the Galaxy power up screen and nothing else,tried to get into recovery and nothing,ah well my android fun maybe over,might just get an iphone,seems a bit simpler for a knuckledragger like me
I really doubt that factory reset coud brick phone. Try to boot in recovery/download mode with 3button combination (hope you have it) and flash new ROM.

try to flash speedmod recovery on your phone, do the most recent stable version, once you get into recovery you can see if it truly is bricked, if you get the common SD error then it is bricked but if it's complaining about some data missing your still in luck.

I had exactly the same problem; installed Darkys 7.5 after which I couldn't receive any calls anymore, did a factory reset and got bricked. 3button to recovery didn't work on my phone, but luckily I live close to a Samsung service center where they reflashed my phone.
I am curious what was causing this. If it is solved I would like to try the rom again, cause it looked great.

Hey currently all im getting is the yellow triangle sign with the android logo cleaning up and it says ''Downloading'' and on the bottom it says ''Do not turn off target'' that just stays like that for hours and nothing
Now i never had the 3 way download button working or checked,i pretty much did CWM and flashed darkys right after buying the phone.
When i try to get into CWM all i get is the Samsung Galaxy S gt i9000 start up screen and nothing.

Hey Everyone..
Ive always been able to get into both download and recovery mode...but when I was going to apply a ROM to my phone i checked it and now i cant access either of them....
I havent flashed a new firmware or used ROMS or anything yet....it seems like it just stopped working?
Have i done anything to disable it or something????
Should i just do the FIX (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785201) to get it back working or is there something else i can do...

i would suggest you do the fix, but be patient and read properly, cause one little mistake will brick your phone, and you wont be able to get into download mode to fix it.
i have no idea why your problem has arisen, thats very strange.
perhaps you should invest in a USB JIG as well. a very life saving tool

I was trying to flash a kernel that i found in a forum, i tried with Voodoo, my phone was already rooted. Then i heard a female robot voice saying something about "partition" and a process that was gonna take like ten min. From then, colorful lines appeared in the screen, something like static and just nonsense lines. Im all crazy, because i cant put my phone on recovery mode or anything and its rebooting on and on every few seconds after showing several lines and nonsense. Please somebody help me im desperate.

No i cant, sometimes i cant even turn it off, i press the 3 buttons, and it just goes to the white samsung logo and again to these colorful pixels, the computer doesnt even recognize the phone since it keeps rebootin on and on. Really i need help, i dont want to lose everything or take it to samsung.
you need to let it go. Its installing that kernel, and it does it while that lady robot speaks. It will take a while.
It sounds like you are in bootloops, try removing battery for 10 mins, replace and try dl mode again, if it does get into dl then pull battery again, replace and charge phone. Next make sure you have right kernel for your rom/firmware, and make sure you get everything set up right with odin, if you can't get in dl pm me and we will try and get it sorted, and don't panic
Edit. As stated, voodoo conversion can take quite a while and I'm guessing you panicked and disturbed phone during conversion

I tried that yesterday, actually i removed the battery the whole night and its the same. Another problem is that my phone is not able to turn to download mode with the commando of buttons, that option was diabled in many, at least thats what ive heard. I tried to let the process go, but it went like that for like 30 secs and then it rebooted and it did that for all the rest of the afternoon, im talkin about hours. What is dl, download??? Man im new in this, what is pm?? I think thats what i did man i panicked and disturbed the process, im really desperate Help tell me what to do i want to pm u to get some help, but i dont know whats that lol. Thanks actually i found a tutorial to get these kind of phones into download mode with a resistor of 301 ohms and a connection, but then if i succed in that, what... what i really want is recovering it, rebooting it without losing anything. Or at least resetin the phone, but i dont know what to do when i get to that part. Im really panicked and i really appreciate your help

i think i did, i download it and I played around with the program, i was kinda busy then so i thought i could better understand the program later, i did some stuff but im not sure i backed up all my apps and stuff, i hope i did.
Man tried what the video shows, not workin!! i really thought that was gonna work, the phone just do the same, it goes to those weird messed colorful pixels
You'll have the wrong bootloader or a Froyo-kernel running on Gingerbread. You can't get into download mode? What about recovery?

It worked!!! Now im about to install a rom i found on the internet, the thing is i wanted an official one and i guess those arent. Do u know if i will loose everything, u know like the info in the internal sd card?? i guess i wont. And also, do u know if theres an official rom of the froyo 2.2 around?? Thanks for your help
Dont just install any rom you found on the internet, its what got you into this mess in the first place.
Go to the developers section and read, try and understand what you are actually doing first, if you have to install anything download it from that section, at least you will have some help if you screw it up again.
YES you will lose data flashing over the top just mucks things up, i would suggest backing everything up using Titanium backup, then go to samfimware.com and get a factory rom, doing a full data wipe.
You won't lose pics and music, roms etc stored in sd card, but you will loose internal data, settings, that kind of thing

it started when i wanted to upgrade my galaxy tab to 2.3.3 gingerbread but something went wrong on oden and my galaxy stucked at screen of death (that screen that has a mobile icon pc and an exclamation mark) anyway i got out of it using hiemdall but now iam stucked at adroid system recovery 3e how to go back to the OS and also i can go to download screen ......

Well I can tell you how to completely brick your tab but I, probably as well as most of the people who viewed your post, don't know how to fix...
Doesn't take much to view a post, less to give bad advice... Requires patience to get the person who can help, to find your post and answer...
You also have a cdma tab, i believe, that's bad as most people have the gsm variant. It also means that steps I take to rectify your problem on my tab will probably brick yours...
Now, would you like me to tell you how to fix MY tab???
Also, no idea what you were on, what you were trying to flash, rooted or unrooted, locked bootloader check done and cdma, wifi-only or gsm??? We need this information before we can help.
thnx for your reply ultra. my phone is gsm (the one that i can insert sim card) and its rooted and i was updating to ginerbread when oden stucked at factoryfs and failed and it bricked i used hiemdall to skip the pc screen and go to download screen so what can i do know ????????

1st thing I'd do is get my stock froyo rom... The one that came on the gtab. reflash that and then try again from there if successful...
You night find your stock rom here on xda or you might need to go further afield like samfirmware. I'd also, if back on stock rom, test to make sure my bootloaders weren't locked otherwise you may end up here again....

Did you check to see if you had a locked bootloader before attempting to flash?
Which rom/guide did you use/follow?
Have you tried the Overcome rom/guide?
