Pure edition FCC ID - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone receive their order for the pure edition yet? Is the FCC ID IDHT56QA1 with LTE 2/4/5/7/17, or IDHT56QA3 with LTE 2/4/5/12/17/25/26/41?

With the fact mine was built Thursday I'm guessing they are just holding the orders until the 24th to ship them.

That is because Verizon is the world's biggest pain in the ass when it comes to software verification.

Exactly, Android enthusiasts should run, not walk, away from Verizon. They're the most expensive and least friendly (to the dev community) of all carriers.

Dev Edition GSM?

There has been lots of talk about the lack of a Dev Edition phone on VZW. I'm currently on ATT using the GSM Dev Edition phone and everything works well. Can anyone tell from the models listed for the Moto X 2014 whether there will be a Dev Edition version which will work well on ATT and support the LTE bands which ATT typically uses?
Yes the only one not receiving dev is Verizon as of now. Gsm is for sure! Don't know about Sprint

no need for sprint, sprint is friendly towards modding
There will be an unlocked version called "Pure Edition."
There seems to be some ambiguity on whether the Pure Edition is to be the same device as the Developer Edition or not, but in either case, VZW is not in the running for either for now.

Anyone know which model # the Dev/pure edition is? The sprint model seems to cover the most bands.

I think there is a bit of confusion on that at the moment. Here is what I understand - no dev edition, but pure is effectively the dev edition as it may be unlocked. Nothing is being released for Sprint. Moto has not published what bands are in what phone, but they are marketing pure for T-mo, so I sure hope it has bands 4 and 12.

I have been searching and searching daily to answer the question of what bands are supported by the Pure Edition and what the model number even is. It's either XT1092 or XT1095 and the reason I'm so concerned is that one does not have Band 12 - they're otherwise identical supposedly.
Anyway, just wanted to point out that I saw links to XT1095 on "America Movil" and a Motorola chat rep confirmed that the XT1095 is the Latin America version.
On the other hand, if the XT1092 bands are to be believed on Phone Arena and the likes, then the Pure Edition should support T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint as it appears to have CDMA/GMS/all LTE bands. I don't want to spread misinformation, so I'll just sit here and pray instead

Pure edition supports lte cat. 3? My only concern here

[Q] Pure edition, carrier editions clarification please...

If I order from the Motorola website, this will be the pure edition phone, correct?
Will the pure edition work on Verizon LTE or is it for GSM networks only?
I'm an AT&T user but trying to assist a family member in choosing a phone - he is on Verizon and will be coming from a fruit phone 4S.
I would like for him to get a phone that is developer friendly and the Moto X has got my attention.
Thanks for clearing this up for me.
There is rumored to be an upcoming Firmware update that will KIND OF make the Pure edition work on Verizon.
Really no Verizon phone will be "developer friendly" as Verizon themselves are not Developer Friendly.
Thank you. I think the rumor thing was adding to my confusion. Maybe a bit off topic here but does Verizon have ANY current production top of the line phones that have an unlockable bootloader?
Definitely not from Verizon. You may have to search for a few phone that Verizon carries but last I checked the nexus line did. But that was like 2 years ago almost

Lol no it will not work on Verizon... It will not work on Verizon with future firmware update. The pure edition doesn't have CDMA radios so calls will not work. The firmware update is to unlock additional lte bands so that it will help for roaming even you go out of USA.

Not all of Verizon's bands are CDMA

While ordering on the MotoMaker you can choose pure edition or the useless ugly branded crap carrier versions. If you select pure edition it will work on gsm networks, in the USA it will work on att and T-Mobile.

All calls go over CDMA. As he said, calls won't work.
With VoLTE, calls can go over LTE (which you may be able to get, idk what bands Vzw uses), but VoLTE needs software from vzw which you certainly wouldn't have

I'm hoping that us Europeans end up with a Euro Pure Edition, cos right now the Pure Edition seems to be a US device. Guess I will see when mine turns up.

Where are you getting this rumor from? The only bands that will be enabled from this update will be bands 2, 3, and 7. Verizon uses Bands 4 and 13 for LTE, only one of which is on the Pure edition. Calls are still sent over CDMA and that's not planning to be retired until 2016. So, no it will not work on Verizon, ever.

In the US, N6 devices purchased from T-Mo, Sprint, Motorola and Google Play are unlocked. N6 from Verizon should be unlocked for use with GSM carriers, but I don't know for certain.
(I have no idea about the N6 sold outside of the US)
Thank You for all your answers.
And what about the US CELLULAR one, is it unlocked ?

Which moto x was sold by Tmobile?

Trying to figure out which motox was sold by T-Mobile, and does it have WiFi calling? What is the actual model number? Thanks!

None, and no. The XT1095 Pure Edition is the only one that will work on T-Mobile (or probably an unlocked AT&T model)
XT1095,the pure edition
Now does this also come with WiFi calling? I see on Motorola's site they have a lollipop firmware specifically for moto x Tmobile listed. That's what is confusing me.

Thats the XT1095 Pure Edition. They label it as a T-Mobile firmware because it has the bands to work on the T-Mobile network. It doesn't support WiFi calling.
