[RUU] M8 Developer Edition SENSE 1.54.1540.10 - One (M8) Android Development

Hello community, today I want to share something that was a little bit hard to spot. It's the Brightstar US bloatware-free Developer Edition RUU in case you want to convert your AT&T, GPE or any GSM device to Developer Edition.
If you are on Sense already just change your CID to 11111111, BS_US001 or BS_US002, your MID to 0P6B12000 if necessary and run the RUU from your pc.
If are on GPE you need to follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523 but instead of installing a Custom Rom or a backup (final step) just run the RUU in fastboot mode.
Mega Link to 1.54.1540.10
I tested it on my unlocked BS_US001 that was converted to GPE(GOOGL001) and it worked just fine, my model id is 06PB12000.
Steps:
1. Change the CID to 11111111 and MID to 06PB12000.
2. Flash the RUU zip to convert the GPE to Sense ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523 ) (Do this only if you come from GPE).
3. Perform a Factory Reset with the stock recovery (Do this only if you come from GPE).
4. Run the RUU from fastboot or Android itself if you are on Sense already and Voila! HTC One 8 Developer Edition with a super fast boot up!
5. Go back to bootloader and change the CID to BS_US002.
6. Restart the phone and install all the updates.
*NOTE: Phone does not need to be S-OFF or Bootloader Unlocked for the RUU to run correctly (But you need to be S-OFF to change CID / MID).
Profit!
Edit: Here's the newest RUU thanks to @Isotopes :

Will somebody verify that this works for Verizon? I'll test but I need to be assured that it won't brick my phone

I haven't been able to get this RUU to work. The RUU opens up and goes through preparing setup but then just dissappears after agreeing to the terms and conditions

I tested it on the unlocked BS_US001 that I converted to GPE(GOOGL001) and it worked perfect, my model id is 06PB12000.
1. I changed the CID to 11111111
2. Flashed the RUU zip to convert the GPE to Sense (Following the thread I provided in OP)
3. Performed a Factory Reset with the stock recovery.
4. Installed TWRP and performed and Full Wipe.
5. Restored a Sense Backup.
6. Sense booted up fine but taking too long every time I restarted my phone (Not a very good restore huh!).
7. Relocked the bootloader
8. Ran the RUU and Voila! HTC One 8 Developer Edition with a super fast boot up!
9. Went back to bootloader and changed the CID to BS_US002.
10. Restarted the phone and installed all the updates, now I'm at version 2.22.1540.4
@kgbkny who has an AT&T version was able to convert it with no problems.
Two things come up to my mind 1. You may need to change the model ID of your phone or 2. You may need to run the RUU as administrator.
Good luck!

How did you relock the bootloader?

In fastboot type this command. Fastboot oem lock

Sooo what exactly is better about this than my current Verizon M8 firmware? Sorry for the odd question but I've never really known what this is other than if you buy a phone with it it comes factory unlocked lol

It only has HTC bloat, not HTC bloat + Verizon bloat. It also updates directly from HTC, not Verizon, so you get updates a bit faster. Also, if you are worried about Verizon sending an OTA that will lock you out of your phone, this should mostly alleviate those fears. It's why I switched from my AT&T branded build.

Maybe the problem is driver related, look for adb drivers.

Will all future built ROM's run fine on Dev edition firmware? Also how much faster? Is it sort of like with the Google Play Edition on how you get updates directly from Google which is tons faster?
& is this really the only benefit? no Verizon stuff and 'perma' unlocked bootloader? Isn't that actually a flaw on the unlocked bootloader part? If you have to do oem lock in order to do certain things and this were to apparently "permanently" unlock it wouldn't that totally defeat the purpose or does it have some sort of *input word for sustainer here(way of not needing to be locked or something, cant think of the proper word lol)*? Also as far as I know there is no such thing as an OTA that can turn you S-ON (*pun intended*)? As long as you're S-OFF you should always be able to unlock your bootloader right? or is that only for the non Verizon/second carrierthatdoesthishere variants?
Edit: question 2! I remember when I flashed a GPE ROM I was able to use the ElementalX kernel which was incompatible with my Verizon variant, would that kernel work on a phone that has been converted to a developer edition or does this not even count as 'converting'?

[Solved]HTC Bootloop without RUU

Hey guys, today I was determined to change my CID in order to get the 4.2.2 update as fast as possible. So, I was running 4.1.1 Rooted on a deodexed stock rom. In order to make the CID change, tried to flash with the HTC RUU. Since there is no RUU for O2 germany, I looked my radio version up and downloadaded the European RUU. The Bootloader had to be relocked, and then is when the TRAGEDY happened. I got stuck in Bootloop. I tried everything and every RUU(errors 151, 150, 131 etc) that is out there without any luck. Finally, after about 12 hours of continious trying and screaming, i found the solution.
1) flashed cwm recovery ( did nor recognize my internal storage )
2) flashed TWRP recovery and formated the internal storage (still bootloop)
3) pushed via AIO Tool sideload the latest CM10
4) cryed for about 15 min of happiness.
I am just making this post in order to help other noobs like me who do not want to go to experts that will charge you hundrets of euros/dollars/yens what ever, and make a fool out of you. I hope this helps you. After this I donated a considerable amount of money to the TWRP, CM and AIO developers, since they have done an amazing job creating these tools and they should be rewarded. Think about it and appreciate effort of others.
ps: I am swiss, so pardon my english
any cronstructive criticism, comments are welcome
Why didn't you just flash a 4.2.2 rom and update your firmware? Much simpler than trying to force an OTA.

Need help going back to Stock (Bell Canada HTC One)

Info:
Bell Mobility HTC One 32GB
S-OFF
H-Boot 1.54 Currently
Fully converted to Google Edition using 4.3 RUU
CID Changed to the Google One
I've literally been on here all day trying to figure this out. I need to sell the phone and can't afford to brick it.
Unfortunately, my Hard drive containing my Nandroids crashed and I lost them.
I cannot find a Bell Mobility RUU. There is a Nandroid backup on HTC1 Guru Here - Very first one listed under CWM Nandroids
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-bm___001-1-29-666-5-zip/
How can I revert to stock with this?
Is that Nandroid a 4.1.2 Rom? Bell never got 4.2.2, they are still on 4.1.2 so I assume so?
I think I can do this - Any help would be appreciated, need to get this done ASAP.
1) Change my CID back to BM_001 using ADB/Fastboot commands
2) Flash Custom Recovery - CWM in this case using ADB/Fastboot commands
3) FIRMWARE? I'm on the stock 4.3 Google Edition Rom - Do I need to flash old firmware? (Hboot, Radios, etc). If so, what files do I flash and how? Can somebody provide a link here?
4) Restore the Nandroid Backup
5) Flash the Stock Recovery back? Where do I get this from for the Bell 4.1.2 rom?
I will leave the phone S-OFF for whoever buys it. Is this it? I need help with Part 3 specifically if this is the procedure.
If anyone can help I'd gladly buy ya a beer!
I know I'm probably over complicating this.... just little experience with HTC phones. My main questions are regarding the CID and Firmware.
Anyone?

Easy on the double posting
Anyway, I think you may have a problem with the touchscreen drivers if you're going to restore using a CWM backup.
Since you're s-off, why not just use the international RUU and change CID to something like HTC__001. Any reason you need to stay on Bell?

I am trying to revert back to Bell so I can unlock the phone. I purchased an unlock code and it does not work. From my research I've done, the phone needs to be on a stock ROM and CID in order for the unlock code to work.
Hey, sorry i have the same issue, i'm with bell as well. i bought and unlock code and then i tried unlocking my phone but it wouldn't work because i rooted it and installed a custom rom, i followed mike 1986 thread on how to unroot and relock your bootloader but as soon as i relocked my booter loader my phone says relocked and i have s-on but now it is stuck on boot loader and i can't sideload a rom because it fails every time. it detects my phone on fastboot but thats all i can do... is my phone bricked and no good now?!?

Well the steps you describe sound right, but there's the problem of getting the firmware. vomer has a guide with different firmwares, but they're all for 2.24 and above.
Not to mention the issue with the touch drivers.
Why don't you try using the odexed stock rom from mike1986 thread, that would put a stock rom on your phone, and change CID to Bell, and try your unlock code. (maybe even stock recovery)

[Q] HTC One update with unlocked SIM

HTC One update with unlocked SIM
Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum and I apologize if the post is in the wrong category. And sorry for the android rookie questions, but I really need your help.
I own HTC One
I bought it with SIM lock
Phone has custom recovery (TeamWin) and it is s-OFF. I am not sure that I understand completely what this means but I found out this facts while reading this forum.
At the end, phone is unlocked (SIM unlock) by local service store (40 EUR).
I would like to update the software and OTA update does not work.
I would be grateful for step by step instructions how to update the phone software and not to SIM-lock the phone again.
My biggest concern is not to pay again for SIM unlock.
You have attached screenshots…
Thank you!

To receive and install OTA updates you need to have the stock recovery on your device. If you re-flash the stock recovery, you can install the OTA update. Once it has properly installed you can go replace stock recovery with TWRP.
I'm pretty sure it won't re-apply the SIM-lock to your phone, but I wouldn't like to say for certain. (Mine came already unlocked)

U will have to go back to the stock unrooted firmware by using the RUU. This will wipe off your internal storage completely and restore the phone to factory settings. This guide will tell you what to do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
The RUU which you have to download and flash is:
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-27-1127-01_release_308001_signed_2_4-exe/
please gather information and the read the guide a few times before you actually do anything

That's not true. Just have to install the stock recovery, then you can do the OTA update. After the update, reinstall either CWM or TWRP and flash SuperSU or Superuser to regain root. The OTA should not affect SIM unlock at all, at least it never has in my experience.
honestly it would be easier to just go with a custom rom since hes already s-off and custom recovery
OP. 2. options.
1. Flash this recovery, and hit the OTA check button. http://d-h.st/M4R
2. Download this RUU package: http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...31.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe
and install!

Can you please explain this much more in details.
Is there any other way to update other than returning back to stock?
It does not have to be OTA.

yes you can update your firmware and flash a custom rom, if your looking for a close to stock experience i would advise ARHD 51
I just wanted to chime in and assure you that your sim unlock will not be affected by flashing custom ROMs, RUUs, firmwares, radios, recoveries, etc. I have flashed everything under the sun on my One and have retained my sim unlock.

That is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thank you very much!
I will try to do stock recovery right away, I just need correct RUU. I assume that one of these 2 are OK
1) http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_ul_jb_50_htc_europe_1-20-401-1_radio_4a-13-3227-06_10-27-1127-01_release_308001_signed_2_4-exe/

Are these OK and which to use?
If these are not OK which should I use?
Please, please, I just need this one info.
Let me ask different question:
Is it must for RUU to match version-main?
My version is on the picture (1.29.401.12) and I found only one RUU for this version but not for my CID (HTC__032).
What to do?

The important thing to verify is that your CID matches what the RUU is designed for. On either of those RUU's you mention, look in the comments section of the post and see the CIDs. As long as you have one of those CIDs, you can install it.
Also, if you look at the RUU version number (1.20.401.1), you notice the third number in the sequence is "401". This signifies the WWE (World Wide Edition) version, so it will work with the majority of devices. The .401 firmwares are what most custom ROMs are based on, and are generally considered to be the most compatible. I am running a .401 firmware on my AT&T device without any issues. So any RUU with a .401 version would work for you.

No, the version-main doesn't need to match. That is just the current firmware version you have installed. If you install an RUU, it will update you to whatever version the RUU is based on. The only thing, if your device is still s-on, you can't install an RUU with a LOWER version than what is shown in version-main. You can upgrade with an RUU if you are s-on, just not downgrade.
The important thing is to find an RUU that works with CID "HTC__032".
Hmm... both those RUUs are lower than what you currently have, so they won't run with s-on. If you really want to be able to run the RUU, you're going to have to s-off so you can run the lower RUU, then update with the OTA.
If you're not ready for doing s-off, you might want to think about just leaving it as is, installing a custom recovery like TWRP, and flashing a custom stock ROM like the ARHD Stock Rom. You can't get OTA, but that's alright because it already is updated. Any of the custom ROMs will work fine with .401 firmwares like you have. I would recommend this route over the s-off and RUU method, honestly, that's a lot of work for little gain, unless you just absolutely must get back to stock.
Anyway, hope this helps!

Just a quick note for you my friend, the ruu you linked is a pre-release version with hboot 1.43 and no ota update. The correct ruu is 1.28.401.7 not the 1.20.401.1.
from nkk71' guide:
2) RUU.ZIP (Windows7, Mac, Linux): http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-zip-downloads/ <- this is now the preferred method instead of RUU.EXE
------> if you’ve found a RUU.ZIP proceed to post 3
---------> Note: M7_UL .401. users don't use 1.20.401.1, use 1.28.401.7 instead

[Q] Trying to get the phone to stock everything...

Ok, so first of all I apologize in advance in case I've written the post in a wrong section.
So, here's the problem. I have a friend which recently bought an Htc One M7 from someone and here's the problem. A couple months passed by and he had no problem with the phone until once when he forgot to charge the phone and the phone battery drained every last bit of energy from it. Since then the phone happens to act weird restarting sometimes and to stop the restarts he has to factory reset the phone and be careful not to let the phone shut off or restart by mistake.
Now... looking at his phone I've noticed that the one that had the phone before played quite a while with it and I don't really think he knew exactly what he was doing and my suspicion is that he installed a wrong RUU for his phone but... the thing is I can't find a good one either. I'm a proud owner of an SGS2 (on which I've played quite a while with custom roms and such) and there things seem to be far more easier than on the HTC side. Now... here's the summary of everything and hope you can tell me how exactly should I make his phone like it was when it left the factory where it was made.
I've posted all the information you might need in the attachments because I'm new on XDA and it doesn't let me post outside links >.<
*see pictures*
Now my problem here is that I've not been able to find a RUU or nandorid backup that has the CID: HTC_622 and also the ModelN0714000 or hell the same RUU version he has right now 4.19.401.8
I also attached the information from his bootloader like hboot version and others and I also have to mention that the person that previously had it installed TWRP v2.6.3.4.
If you need more information that this please tell me. I find the HTC stuff unnecessary complicated and please someone that knows these types of phones to tell me how exactly (step by step if possible XD) what I should to to his phone to put the right stock rom and also put the stock recovery back (or whatever he's supposed to have there lol).
Thank you in advance ^.^
How much concerned about warranty ?
If not then install custom recovery TWRP then install custom Rom good to go !!!
If yes then install custom recovery TWRP then custom Rom + custom kernel then make your phone S Off with "FIREWATER" method
Then use " Guru bootloader reset tool" to remove Tempered and Lock bootloader (see bootloader pic )
Then find a RUU ( original HTC software) according to your CID and MID
Flash that ruu you get Stock software

well the phone was rooted so basically there is no warranty, I'm guessing it's a software problem since I know someone delved into it and changed things. Now about the RUU... my problem is that I can't find the right one for his CID and MID, which I find really strange or I just haven't looked as much as I should. I found a couple that had the same CID but the MID was different and vice versa. If I can't find a good one would it be better off with a custom rom?

Is there a way to go back to stock S-On to update firmware?

Hey, I have this device, and I'm S-On. 25 bucks is a bit too much for me to spend on something I won't do very often like update firmware, so is there a way to go back to stock to update firmware with S-On? Im already running the stock the phone came with, rooted and modified with xposed tho.
Thanks.

I too was under the impression that you had to be s-off to do this. I purchased the h/k edition but haven't done s-off cause of the 25 dollar charge to s-off. Got the same result for Firewater fit me when trying to run the exploit, which I'm guessing for those of us with the original firmware it may have worked. To bad the support was stopped. Feel like I'm being forced to pay for something that I've been able to do for free on every other phone I've owned with sunshine. Just my 2 cents and my own opinion. I'll probably pay for it but it seems steep.
Sorry my bad I thought you said you were s-off. My previous posts are for s-off. Good luck

Yeah, 25 bucks is a lot, sell to a couple hundred phones, you already got 7500 bucks. Wish it was cheaper at least, like 10, or maybe even 15.
I actually managed to go back to stock with a RUU
I'll put instructions so anyone else who needs it doesn't need to look for 300 years.
This Instructions are for S-On only, I do not know what to do if you're S-Off, so don't follow these if you are.
This WILL wipe your phone completely. Not your external sd card though. Make sure you properly back up any data you wish to keep. And I am NOT responsible for any damage done to your device
1. Make sure you're S-On
2.. Go to your about phone in settings, check your phone version, should be like 3.123.2.434 (not same numbers, but same #.###.#.### format)
3. Get the proper RUU from the thread posted above.
4. If you're on windows set up fastboot, don't look here for that, find it somewhere else. If you're on other OS do the same
5. Plug your phone in, boot into bootloader, select "fastboot"
6. with your phone plugged in, type "fastboot devices" or "sudo fastboot devices" (yes, sudo) on Linux. If your device is detected, run "fastboot oem lock" or "sudo fastboot oem lock" on Linux. If it isn't detected, try USB 2.0 or making sure HTC Sync and PDANET are uninstalled and you have properly installed the drivers.
7. Once it completes, you might get an error sign on the command prompt or terminal, happened to me, don't worry if your phone is still on, just select "reboot fastboot" to make sure its actually relocked, it'll say it on the top.
8. Extract the RUU you downloaded to the External SD Card. Needs to be external.
9. Reboot back into your bootloader, it should see the file and ask if you want to flash it. Say yes.
10. Let it do its thing, it takes a while. When its done, you can reboot back.
P.S. Your recovery is now a Red Triangle with an Exclamation Point. Do not worry, it is the stock "recovery".
Thanks for sharing your solution. As for sunshine s-off. It's a little steep however it worked out for me. My first m8bhad a defect and needed to be replaced. When I returned it to a sprint store, they checked the bootloader. Good thing I was s-off and was able to use the faux hboot to hide this info from them. My replacement was free when it otherwise should have been $650. Just food for thought
