Hi,
I would like to ask, how can I root my xperia zr (currently rooted using towelroot) on firmware previous firmware 4.4.2
Planning to update to firmware 10.5.1.A.0.283 but I read that towelroot don't work in this version.
I cannot update OTA as my phone stated "computer required"
I do not want to install flashtool just for rooting.
Is there any other way?

i test on my Xperia stock 4.4.2 locked bootloader and it works!! After i install SuperSU and.. hey it works like charm!

sorry , but i fight with my phone XperiaZ yesterday, and after flashed the last firmware i was stuck on how root.. after many search i found TowelRoot and since i don't find it easly in Root Guide i post it!

nuts prerooted roms are pretty famous. Basically you need to downgrade to the .534 rom , install dualrecovery and flash the prerooted rom. Look for nut's threads and check out shem's youtube guides. Very easy step by step . gl
And outdated info. To root 4.4.4 just update via any means you are familiar with them use any new root method. There is some help for 4.4.4 in my signature

I know this is a level 0 question, but I can't find it spelled out anywhere. I bought my G6 Play unlocked, and I think that is what JETERNA means. Can anyone confirm that, and more importantly, where should I start?
The phone is unlocked ( says "bad key" when I reboot). I would like to end up with a useful privacy friendly device. MicroG would be a big plus. Can anyone pls point me in the right direction?

Still getting used to the site - kind of makes my head spin. I have been poking around trying to find the answer to what the heck JETERNA means and how that might affect the flashing process. I THINK it applies only to Motorola FW, but site searches and web searches turn up nada.
Hopefully someone in Q and A can help.
