Hi everyone, Kangvip has release a new ROM for P7 L09 found it from Chinese site. My question is,, can I flash it using twrp in my P7 L07? Pls advise, I'm a fan of his ROM and been using his ROM in my P6.

I think it's risky. As far as I know, ROMs for the L05, L07, L10 are interchangeable. A rom for the L09 or L00 may brick your phone.

I've just tracked down this ROM. Like you, I want it. It looks really really good. Looking at the specs for the L09, it seems to be a cdma phone and thus not compatible with 3G gsm networks. Maybe I'm wrong, but my instincts tell me the firmware is just incompatible. I do wonder though, if it might be possible to take parts of this ROM and swap it into a ROM that's suitable for our phones. I just don't know enough unfortunately. Perhaps others viewing these posts may car to comment. For anyone interested here's the link to the ROM:

It will be nice if he is able. I downloaded his L09 ROM as I thought I might be able to learn from it or perhaps extract something useful. Sadly, the zip is password protected. Any suggestions?

He Has ALso Posted for P7-L07 L05 ... i am Downloading From Pan.baidu.com and Will Mirror in Few Hours ..... GOdamn Pan.Baidu Is SLow .... But The Rom Has Exciting Features Such as Split Screen Cant Wait to Flash . ... ROm is of 735 Mb So I will Definately Mirror it After Tution Till Then U Can See The Thread Located Here

i tried this rom but their are to many chinese apps. Cant move signals on statusbar to the left and clock to center. Went back to Miui rom.

Both sendspace and mediafire have bad files, if you download from the official website you'll notice that the file has in fact 88 MB not 60. I'm downloading now and I'll make a quick review asap.
Mediafire is same. Rom size is 88.03MB big.
please delete the mirrors, there both corrupted, and the official site only takes for me 4 minutes at 360kb/s

okey, downloaded from Official site and its working, so after installing, everything is chinese so open drawer and search for settings, left corner bottom, then first tab is system number 9 is language, if you found that click the first and choose english !

I have tested this rom working great. Just having one bug with pattern lock. So dont set pattern lock, use password for screen lock if you need. This is for NE2 baseband. English is suported.

I have tried it iuni os for g900h It was just fine I found no issues but beware you would need downgrade to kk 4.4.2 before installing.

I think the global one is the right one, but if everything is working you don't have to flash the cust.zip

I flashed the 4.12.12 without the cust file. I also flashed gapps (miuiandroid_gapps-4.4-small_20140105_signed.zip). Everything appears to be working fine!! Great work - really appreciated.
Some questions though: Are there no English translations for some of the Chinese apps that are included (one appears to be the MiStore) ?? Should I try to uninstall them with rootexplorer? They look interesting, but my Chinese language is non-existent!

You don't really need that apps.

HOWTO restore MIUI boot animation
This is a great ROM - running 4.12.12. Thank you very much for the effort. :good:
I've since also tried MyROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/development/rom-rom-v3-1-emui-3-0-t2977409, but it does not come close to MIUI and I restored MIUI from nandroid backup!!
The nandroid restore was fine, except for the boot animation. I managed to restore the Huawei logo (HW_oem_logo.zip) from within CWM recovery, but have not been able to restore anything else...using bootanimation.zip from MIUI V4 and V5 ( installation fails in recovery). Even tried to copy the file to /system/media, set the permissions to 755 and also triedd 744 - no effect!! I even tried to copy a mtz file to the MIUI themes folder , but it does not show up.
I even tried to install HW_oem_anim.zip, but I am stuck with the Huawei logo.
I am stuck, I feel that I am missing something very basic!! Any help pls...??
Love totally this rom, the best so far. But i have a problem, when i installed the rom, i don't get 3G or 4G connection. I don't know why, seems to be the cust file needed, but i can't download it, cause my carrier is Claro from Costa Rica and i don't find the cust file for it... Anybody can help me with that?

Well if somebody modding this MIUI FIRST thing you should do is remove all that chinese crapware.. jeez.. that is a MUST !
To have PROPER EU version ported to P7
Comparing MIUI with EMUI , emui has better icons .. Miui icons look cheap like no much interesting..
Even bckgrnd is boring..
Only what I like is text font in settings ,coloured icons in settings,

This is a fine ROM - performance is good and quite stable. It lacks a bit of polish though for the P7-L10 (International)...removal of XIAOMI Service Framework and inclusion of GAPPS would have been better. To what extent the XIAOMI services can be removed from the OS, I'm not sure, but some apps provide duplicate functions as GAPPS and they are in Chinese.
Otherwise it is a very good effort...

I was on B615, i tried to install ( after a ful reset ) it by local up and by 3 btn, but the result was the same : fail to instal the firmware.
and my phone reverted back to B609 !!!!

why wud u downgrade??
of course b615 is latest so latest improvements and fixes.. it doesn't matter is small.. small is bcos it just update NOT full ROM..
don't think is some clean .. ppl just get out the word ''clean'' from your head.. there is nothing clean or dirty.. it doesn't matter what or how u install it .. al is about writing /rewriting or replacing files.. !!!

I installed the rom a week ago and I have not appreciated changes with respect others versions.. Battery consumption and performance is similar but something better to the B609. Better management of the battery when the smartphone is at rest.

This is not an upgrade , it's a full version, so when you install the rom , you will lose all your data , so make a backup before installing.
To install B613: copy the downloaded file (UPDATE.APP) on the SD card (dload directory) and select Update / Menu / local update file.

I don't think the UPDATE.APP official one has been posted for P9+? For P9 it is available on the Huawei forum.
There are some third party Chinese ROMs but I'd be careful when installing those, I tried one of the ROMs before and they had lots of junks in there. One of the apps in particular (called Qihu Browser or 360 Browser) would automatically restore itself even AFTER you uninstall it with root permissions and even after I did a full factory wipe it still stayed.
Also for 192 some people are saying the fingerprint doesn't work.

Again, please proceed with caution. The thread in the Chinese Huawei forum stated clearly it contains "3rd party apps".

I'm running the Kangvip B183 at the Moment ... for sure, i removed a lots off stuff from it! ... also the 360 Browser... it was also stored in few other places as usual
Tried also the KangVip B192 ... but as you said, the FP wasnt working on this ...
so i went back to B183 ...

And the OTA (there are 2 OTAs so I am not sure which one is the right one): http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1307/g77/v63187/f1/full/update.zip
Both are for the Chinese variant (VIE-AL10C00)
I think those ones are far more reliable than the customized one. Of course that's provided if you are OK to go through the hassle of unlock BL, flash recovery and root and restore (which honestly is not that much effort if you have already done it once )
By the way I tried the full update package only, didn't try the OTA one, and the forced upgrade (Vol Up + Vol Down + Power while having UPDATE.APP in dload in ext SD card) worked for me.
