Mine will be here this Monday morning. I cant wait.

Got mine yesterday! Waited for about 25 minutes before I was served. Got the white one, and loving it!!
Just waiting to root it..

I got mine on first day as well and I'm just trying to figure out how to create folder on home screen. I'm bit surprised the option is not available.

why? when you try drag an icon from drawer to home screen, there will be 4 options at top of the screen, the first one is "Create Folder".

Hay cheers Mr RomBox. I did know this and thanks for reminding me. But I was talking about creating folder directly on the home screen. Like drag existing icon on home screen to create folder.

Yeah, dragging an icon on home screen pops up Trash and Create Folder options on top, at least on my S5 Mini. Android 4.4.2 though.

Hay guyzz, this morning there was an update and after installing this update now can create folder directly from the home screen. Note 4 Rocks ....☺

that link and the information on it is wrong.
The Australian model is 910G (confirmed from several carriers AND from samsung)
Its also the Snapdragon, that link says Exynos.
This is the Australian model:

its a load of bollocks and cant be relied upon.

Cf-Auto-root for the *G came out today. Anyone used it yet?

It's a resistive screen.
I've been looking at this phone for a while, and now that it's out, I'm having a heck of a time finding someone who sells it that has it in stock ( tried the websites suggested here on their website). I did find it for $517, out of stock, on provantage.com but it doesn't seem like this phone is very accessible
I have no reason to be a skeptic as to this phone's ability to get Tmo's 3g. The specifications show that it has the 1700/2100 bands required for the service, but I'd really like to know if anyone has been able to try it out yet and what kind of dl speeds they are getting ( oh, and where you managed to buy one from)
FYI...it has not been released yet. The Pharos forum tech said on 03-31-09:
"The Traveler 137 is due to be released into the market in a couple of months. Unfortunately, we do not have the exact release date at this time. Thank you, Natalie"
Hopefully, they are trying to get WM6.5 on this bad boy for a June release...
when it comes to hardware, i will always check the cpu used
qualcomm = slow, very preformance lag & flickering
Nice shame no physical keyboard and no HTC build...
Agree that HTC & XDA support is important...
Also, it has the same qualcom chip and I wish it had the snapdragon!
FYI...PocketPC Thoughts announced the unlocked Pharos 137 (dual USA 3G & upgradable to WM6.5) finally goes on sale tomorrow at Amazon, Expance, Newegg, etc...
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/mob...ilable-upgradeable-to-windows-mobile-6-5.html
what kind of freaking joke is this??
cant find the phone on amazon, dell, or newegg!
or any places that have the phone "available"!
^looks like Pharos Support replied to U on the their forum: that it would be delayed (again) for 1 week
they better not have anymore delays! i just hate waiting!
otherwise i'm going to get acer f900.
acer f900 uses samsung 533mzh cpu, is that better than qualcom 528mzh?
but f900 only has 256rom/128ram, but i think that is enough?
Does anyone know of any active ROM development for these phones? I would love for someone to cook up a custom build for this phone. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I have not seen any development (yet) for the PT137. It would be on the Pharos forum if there's going to be any cooking...
Note this just went on sale, so not too many have it...
i also have a PT137 and would love to see some rom development but i don't think it's going to happen here at xda. the pharos section in this forum is for the device htc made for them and i don't think htc is making the phones for pharos any more.
i will keep my fingers crossed and hope.

yep. really.
1280 x 800? Is it running XP? lol
Specs for this monster are mouth-watering, and I do question it's usability as a normal phone due to size.
But what a portable multimedia powerhouse! If it's true, of course...
On the other hand, will we need to sell one kidney and a spleen for it?
specs are excellent.....but bigger the screen gets , bigger the chances of it getting damaged...
Too bad WIndows Phone 7 Series doesn't support 1280 x 800 pixels. In the beginning only 800 x 480 and later 480 x 320.
It's just a dream.....

I saw the pic with the caption dont remember exactly but "what a wp7 hd3 might look like" in any case someones version of what they would design the hd3 to look like and with out any connection to htc in addition even the pictures of the diamond 3 (htc obsesion) rumored to be wp7 and coming in the fall is probably incorrect as it is shown as having 5 buttons and not 3.
In the meantime I think HTC is sticking to wm6.5 and this is because they have invested to much in there own apps for wm6.5 phones sense2.5 and all the htc programs that come with it, as well as 3 new 6.5 phones are coming in the next month or so. Bottom line there is no HD3 in the mean time.
This looks like somebodies active imagination IMHO so I'm going to close thread. If someone has actual proof they can PM me and I'll re-open thread

Okay.... I Suppose Its Cool As I Didn't Mention To Be Realistic
Thing Is... Your Phone Will Burn The F*** Down With 4x 2.5GHz Cores
You Could Make It An 8 Core @ 1.2GHz/1.4GHz To Preserve The Battery
And The PPI Looks A Bit Dodgy. But They Are Great Specs Nonetheless

I know I'm a noob here, but I came from the 4S all the way down to the original, to now the Vivid. I don't think it's a fair comparison, the iPhone is nice, but its basically a wallpaper and apps. Whereas any android phone is, well, I'm preaching to the choir. Hardware specs are great and all, but I don't care if the iPhone has a 10ghz processor and 400gb of ram if it doesn't let me quickly check things with widgets or customize how I want. I jail broke all my iphones, but it still wasn't the same as what I can do with android.
I am happy I made the switch and in all honesty, if I was still with iPhone I'd be a little disappointed in the lack of overall end-user change.

IPhone 5 is outdated anyways...sgs3 that came out 3 months ago has better/faster hardware

Sounds like a iphone 4s... cannot believe people keep being the same phone over and over again. Glad I got off the wagon on the first stop before Iphone 3g came out.
i agree with all of you, but now that steve jobs died apple started letting you unlock your iphones.. that used to be a b*tch before with ultrasn0w and all imo. so what im trying to sa is apple isnt as crappy as it used to be xD

It's not really outdated. They don't need quad core processors in an iPhone, it would be overkill. Even with worse hardware, iPhones are more snappy and crash less. I love Android and all, but I can't deny the simplicity and stability of the iPhone.

See this is the thing people always say...yet they have nothing to back up the stability of an iPhone...the thing with iPhones is that they don't display when there is a crash like android does...ios keeps crashes hidden making them appear stable..but just a few months ago there was a study done that showed that ios actually had more app crashes then android -so iPhones actually do crash more...not less
Now I haven't touched an iPhone5 yet...but the iPhone 4s that my friends have do not even come close to as smooth and snappy as my vivid...let alone the sgs3...that thing just blows everything out of the water...and I only messed around with my cousins att sgs3 -so no quad core...but that was on stock...I could only imagine how much snappier it would be an aosp
I can go on and on but I won't, mainly because these type of debates tend to get a little heated...happened over in the infuse thread, wasn't about iPhones...but it was about apple in general...it got out of hand and I had to request for the mods to close it
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using Tapatalk 2
i read at Engadget, not sure if true but, the A6 dual core processor is more of a enhanced cortex a9, much like the A5 or A5X, customized by Apple. the cortex a15 is supposed to be even better than the A6. i repeat, not sure if it's true but after the phone is released we will know for sure.

Like I said, I'm all android but we can't be naive. The Vivid is not smoother than an iPhone, scroll through your app drawer, contacts list, or browser and you'll see what I mean. Even the Galaxy Nexus I'm using now with project butter doesn't quite reach the smoothness of the iPhone when scrolling. The iPhone doesn't need maxed out specs for how the OS works.

It may not need maxed out specs...but when in a market you always want to one up your competitors...something apple hasn't done in a while when it comes to hardware...android doesn't need a dual core or a gig of ram to run...but they have androids with dual cores and over a gig of ram because they can/bragging rights...its not a need its just there because they have the ability (I have an infuse that has a single core and only 750mb ram that runs jellybean extremely smooth)...and if an sgs3 and an iPhone are gonna be the same price ill go with the phone that has better hardware
Smoothness...I have no problem with contacts or browser...whether its zooming in or scrolling...completely butter smooth...I've used many iPhones (never owned one) and I'm anything but naive when it comes to mobile devices, in my opinion the vivid is smoother and snappier then the 4s and all its predecessors
I'm also the kind of a guy that wants (if not needs) the best of the best hardware...although I would never need this much power, I'm saving up for parts to build a custom pc that will have 8 cores (probably more by the time I get the money/a job...), 32gb of ram, 3tb HDD...etc not cause I need all that but cause I can...pretty much bragging rights...I wanna be that guy that has the fastest hardware -so that plays a huge role in my opinion...its just the way I am, I want the best
Everyone has differnt opinions, everyone wants there phone to do different things...one device can't satisfy everyone, get what you like and enjoy it...
I like the smoothness of the vivid, you like the smoothness of the iPhone -let's leave it at that...no amount of debating will change either of our minds

Lmao at this thread. It's always iphone vs something. Considering the vivid isn't a flagship of well anything and the 5 is the flagship of Apple, they can't be compared imo. A more fair comparison would be vs the One X, Galaxy S3, or Galaxy Nexus. Just sayin
Sent from my HTC Vivid using Tapatalk 2
This thread is dumb.
Why would you compare a phone that came out almost a year ago to the iPhone 5? That is asinine.
Try comparing it to the Galaxy Note 2 or the HTC One X.
Then ignore the gpu benchmark garbage because the iOS ui is driven by the gpu whereas android only recently got true hardware acceleration as of ICS, and even with it, the ui processes are mostly cpu based only using the gpu when necessary unless you enable the feature in the development settings to always use HA.
So, in short, stop being stupid and learn how to properly research and compare technologies instead of spouting spec sheets comparing a brand new flagship against a former flagship. Compare the Vivid to the 4S

How bout apples new map app? Now iPhone 5 doesnt compare to any android IMO.
Sent from my HTC Holiday using Tapatalk 2
I don't know why everyone thinks the vivid used to be a flag ship...it never was a flag ship...at least not in my opinion...it was just another phone with decent specs released to keep the funds coming in for htc...nothing about the vivid Is really flagship worthy...1.2ghz dual for stock...was common back when vivid was released, 1gb if ram...again was common, lte...only thing that put it above other Att phones at the time
Go ahead and disagree with me...I'm just stating my opinion...

Exactly - in a lot of ways, it was a "middle of the road" device even back then.
What's interesting, though, is that it can still compete in a lot of ways with the latest offering from Apple.
Actually I think it was top of the line at release. The hardware was very good for the time, better than any other phone on AT&T. The only other competitor was the skyrocket. If they wouldn't have messed with the bootloader we would've had a huge dev community. Tons of devs pledged to come to the Vivid but they went back on their word after the bootloader fiasco.

[Q] What do you want to see on a 2015 smartphone? :)

Hey everyone! Hope everyone here is having a good day. So what would you guys/girls like to see on a 2015 smartphone?
I personally would like to see these specifications/features:
- Dimensions/size similar to a Nexus 5
- Unique design that stands out from other smartphones
- 5" Quad HD display
- Front-facing stereo speakers
- 8MP front-facing camera
- 21MP rear camera with OIS + 4K recording
- Stock Android
- Physical home button with pulse notification LED on it
- Aluminium bezel with a soft touch plastic back
- A multimedia panel like the Galaxy Edge but something less pronounced
- Snapdragon 810
- 4GB of RAM
- Adreno 430
- 4000mAh battery
- 16gb - 128gb storage capacity
- Variety of colour options
Yes... A long list of configuration. Boring, I know. So I decided to make a video on this 'Dream Smartphone' of mine, which I called the '2015 Concept Smartphone'.
I am new user to XDADEVELOPERS, so I cannot post links. Dam. But if you type in 'XTPN 2015 Concept Smartphone' in your YouTube search, it should be the first video.
And please do check it out! It'll help a lot
On a side note, please excuse my poor video editing and 3D modelling skills. I'm a first Industrial Design student so it's kind of all new to me. However, I'm open to all constructive criticism.
Thank you for passing by,
Phil
I would like to see more 3D screens on the market!
Thank you for this thread.
Honestly, mine isn't impressive but I think it could be made as a budget phone like the nexus 5.
4.7-5 inch screen in Nexus 5 form factor.
Android Lollipop of course
2 GB of ram.
Latest quad core
Minimum of 13 Megapixel back camera, 2 mega pixel front. Hopefully Optical Image Stabilization.
Stock android (Play edition?)
Front speakers
2,700 Mah battery
32GB starting storage, expandable up to 128GB SD card
Pulse notification light.
Soft buttons or even capacitive keys
1080p screen. Don't really care for Quad HD or 4k or whatever. I'd rather have battery.
To me that would be a fantastic phone.
- I would like to see fully waterproof phone that can stay into the water up to 30 meters for an indefinite period of time
- Battery that lasts more than 72 hours even after heavy usage and charges within five minutes
- REMOVABLE BATTERY
- DUAL ACTIVE SIM
I hope I am not asking for too much!
@goro11
That would awesome. Maybe like a 3DS-Phone? If you get my idea.
@Whiplashh
Love a budget phone. I own a Nexus 5 myself! I don't mind soft buttons or capacitive buttons either. But from my experience, I want something like the iPhone (home button + power button). The power button on my Nexus 5 got jammed a few months ago and there was no other way I could turn on the device. Luckily I had 3 months left on the warranty and got a replacement (thanks Google). And this is why I dig the buttons of the iPhone.
I would like to see an upcoming focused more the battery life too. I want something that would last a full day with medium usage. Not a full day as in MORNING-AFTERNOON, but a full-full day as in MORNING-MIDNIGHT. This would be great.
@maheshpatel
Sweet. As for the waterproofing, not only should they improve the duration of underwater usage and depth. They should also make the touchscreen usable whilst the device is in the water. Because most of the current waterproof smartphone(primarily the Sony Xperia Z line) has an unusable touchscreen whilst immersed underwater. Unless there is a device out there that has this ability?
Thanks for the replies everyone!!

How about upgradable ram?
Sent from my D6503 using xda premium
I want to see:
HTC One M9:
Snapdragon 810
4Gb RAM
5.2, 2K display
13MP Back Camera, 4K Video 60 FPS
Even better stereo speakers with BoomSound
Even better sound in earphones
And be able to change HTC Sense on pure Android
5.7-5.9" (Anything below 5.7" = NOPE.)
4GB RAM
64Bit Snapdragon 810 or maybe even 815.
Adreno 430
32-128GB + MicroSD slot
21MP 4K OIS rear camera (I don't care about the front one, I don't do selfies.)
Preferably waterproof, but it's not a dealbraker.
So, basically, the Note 5.
HTC and Sony
I'd like to see HTC making some more phones except high-end ones and flagships, and also, I'd like to see black ui in sony's android 5.0 skin. 4.3 and 4.4.x is too....white-y.

I completely agree with you.
to be honest, I would even be extremely happy with an HTC M7 with a 13 megapixel camera. That would be a fantastic phone I think.
Project ARA
By 2015 end well see Project Ara phones selling those are perfect for geeks
we know Basically phone features ,specs Revolve around the Chipset. example i prefer 810SoC to future proof it
Price ,availability are my concerns
if i could create $450 phone initially
then $250 bucks per year I think its great
But I'm still Concerned about Build Quality,Phone Looks, button placement etc
I would like to split the Chin bezel Of Sharp Aqueos Crystal and place it as fore head then
That would be awesome !!!!
Thank you for the replies and all your great ideas!
@stress40

I'd like to see a very capable phone aimed at the masses (I hate being asked to pay more than a ThinkPad laptop for a sim-free phone - )
- 4.7"-5.1" display with MotoX/MotoG-like easy to hold curves and backing
- Full HD resolution
- Snapdragon 610/615 performance or better
- Adreno 330 performance or better
- 3GB+ RAM
- minimum 16GB internal storage free for user (not 16GB total, 8/9/10/11 or whatever free)
- water/dust resistance ~IP68
- 3200mah+ removable battery
- rear camera that is at least as good as the Galaxy S4/iPhone4 from way back when (including near-instant response and optical image stabilisation)
- at least dual sim dual active with one easy swap sim slot like Nokia Asha phones (triple sim dual active would be even better)
- hardware switches (could be inside battery cover) to enable/disable camera, gps, bluetooth, mobile data, wifi, microphone
- samsung-like hardware home button (with capacitive on either side or not)
- full kernel source code
- full android device tree source code
- source code for the binary blobs (drivers etc) we have to deal with now
I mainly want more variety @ the $350 - $400 pricepoint. I don't see the big names suddenly dropping their prices into this range but if they were to make a few cuts to their flagship's specs, it could work. As it has already been mentioned multiple times, Google's project is very intriguing. That would be great to see if get off the ground.

Totally understand and agree with what you said here. Most devices are like that and it sucks. Phone companies should make space for the pre-installed OS and other software's outside of the specified storage. If you get me.
@confed
Very true. I reckon the price tag of most devices turns most people off. That being said, I was hoping the N6 followed a similar price as its predecessor. I don't blame the rise in price, just disappointed a little.
