I would love this as well. If anyone at XDA is thinking about doing it I would without doubt donate to this project.
Vol
Is there really no interest here besides the two of us?
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk HD
I would donate as well! This needs to be executed ASAP!

It was my understanding that while they added support for 4.4.2 devices, actually getting it to work was going to be hit or miss.

Yes that is true, Its a Hit or Miss, But I wanted to check if its a problem all Intel based devices are facing or not...

I would think the Intel units had more than enough power to do it but perhaps their HAL does not support it.
Mirroring screen does require some Kernel code to support it so it is possible you got 4.4.2 but the kernel was not coded for Screen Cast support.

Well there are options to look for...
You could try a custom Rom, See if a Custom Kernel is available. Both if available would be found here at XDA.
Best place to find it and get answers is over at the Venue8 section of XDA as thats where the development roms and Kernels would be and you might even find instructions to get casting to work without changing roms...

Please don't. You'd be wasting your time. MirrorEnabler is no different than the feature that Google provided. Some people are having reporting success after leaving their device on the black screen for a while. They say the video just magically comes up after a couple of minutes. Not quite sure why.

Found something very interesting .. When I hit the cast button .. It usually takes close to 5 minutes to start the casting .. But
I tried this trick.. I hit the cast button and then start the stop watch and the cast initiates in 30 seconds exactly.. I was able to replicate this several times.. Tried it on 2 Intel based tablets.. Same results
That sounds absolutely crazy, but you're absolutely right. The stopwatch trick works ! :good:
Tested wit ASUS MeMo Pad 7 (mod. ME572c with Intel z3560) . The screen was casted at 30 +/-3 seconds. Without the trick, it's total coincidence, when it starts.

You need a 3rd party software from Apowersoft or Wondershare. Also Airserver works. But none of them are free.
Scrcpy also works and it's free. Google for it.

Samsung screen mirroring

Hello everyone in the community, I hope that someone can help me with this. I am happily swapping out custom roms ( a big thank you to all the developers! ) with stock roms to test which rom suits me best (they're all fantastic and unique by the way :good: ) but the one feature I do notice that is missing is the "screen mirroring" option. I love that feature as I can screen my phone to my smart tv and virtually do anything without the need for a wi fi connection (something I don't have at the moment). Is there any way to install this also on custom roms?

I can't speak much to ROM-based mirroring. I found another solution entirely:

I bought a ScreenBeam Mini2. It works great. Connects in seconds through stock Smart View on MagMaNX ROM 2.0.1. Only complaints: Weak range -- phone has to be right by the dongle. Also, phone screen has to stay on for video (but can turn off for music), so I always feel like I'm overworking the display (and it can be a bit distracting if the phone's in sight). But I'm satisfied with it. After all, it works.

Thank you O's for your reply. I'll look into what you suggested, it seems a really practical solution. Thank you again

Welcome. That's an old post, so I should update that I've had better experience with it as I used it more. Clean-flashed other Marshmallow/Oreo/Pie ROMs, and they all held signal even when I took the phone into the next room (with no walls). There might be a newer version now, and it looks like similar devices have popped up, too. But that one still works just about perfectly for me.
