Greatly appreciated as always,
Cheers and many beers!

Appreciate it =)

So if MTP doesn't work does that mean there is absolutely no USB storage, or is it just MSD?

With multirom I can access/create files but not delete them. I haven't tested it while it's installed as primary ROM.

Hi, really liked to give FF a try since first rumors about it, so thanks for this.
Just installed as secondary with MultiROM onwich I have Carbon as primary and Ubuntu yet.
Installation seems gone up right and says "successful", it boot up as expected but there's not keyboard to set the pin code and wifi key.
Is it known or just me?
Edit: Keyboard works if "English (US)" is setted up as primary language.

I just tested, I get this issue too when selecting italian as the language for first time boot. I will see if this is an issue in my build or if I need to file a bug. For now you can use English in the first time menu then switch to your language.

Can you make the folder view in gallery app....?

Could not boot FFOS
Hi,
first thanks for the your effort building this image!
I tried it on my Nexus 4 device with the following configuration:
- MultiROM v28
- fresh install of current OmniROM as primary rom
- your FFOS image by 10/02/14 as additional rom
Trying to boot the FFOS image results in infinite loop alternating shownig the FFOS logo in front of blue background and a black screen.
I tried to wipe data and cache and dalvik cache with the result that MultiROM was removed, too. So I had to replace the kernel of OmniROM to one with kexec patch to install MultiROM again. The result for FFOS as secondary ROM was still the same.
Any suggestions?
Many regards,
odysseus

It's great but Android is still way more better.

Apologies for the lack of builds, last week it was failing and then I didn't have too much time.
I have added a build from today to the OP, it brings small new features and some performance improvements (especially with app switching).
Enjoy!

sorry... for installing on nexus4 is like an another rom ?
wipe, flash and go ?

I did that way long time ago, so would say yes treat it like a ROM.

(deleted) Thanks

Updated OP with a list of all builds now, last one should be the latest.
New build is also up, now with 100% less blurry icons :good:

Going to be flashing in multirom shortly

Went great.

Thanks for your great work! I will buy a Nexus 4 now, just to install Firefox OS. I'm owning a Keon, but it's more like a geek toy than a useful Smartphone. Had several Flame Phones in my hand lately. A lot better, but screen and camera quality aren't enough for me. So I will try the Nexus 4.
Can you post a short tutorial how you do your weekly builds? I have some experience modifying and building Gaia, but Never did a full FxOS build. Will try this next time.
Thanks a lot!

First of all, flamingspaz, THANK YOU so much for doing and sharing this work!
Also, is anyone having trouble with getting mobile data to work? I clean installed, but turning on mobile data seemed to fail the first few times I tried flipping the switch. Then it seemed to work (the switch showed data was turned on). After that, the switch would turn on and off, but I still had no data from mobile cell service.
I'm running an lte hybrid radio with 1.03+.33. Haven't tried other (especially non hybrid) radios but that's next on my list.

naprawdę świetna robota, tyle że musiałem sam doinstalować spare parts, żeby ustawić funkcję dla klawisza end, ROM mega!
Fine
I'm going to test it tonight
Edit: That Rom is so fast, and stable !! CWN is incredible !!!! (25.5 Fps w/o sound on neocore)
Edit 2: Wifi don't work ! Xperia seems to be connected with my box, but i'm unable to open any website ----> Finally it works
Edit:3 Can't shutdown my phone
Wifi does not work on my X1.
Cannot shut down properly (reset to quit)
However, its fast!
hmmm i wanted to try but as I see no wifi working, I'll pass
Wifi works for me. lokks like bad instalation for me. please format all ext2 partitions and reinstall rom.

I like this mod, it was working very well (exept the power off button) until it start crashing (mainly coreA) as soon as it was starting, making it unusable...
If you have any idea about that, i'll take it!
preston is right, looks like a bad installation because wi-fi works for me too.
thanks for the rom preston, good work !
how is the battery life guys?
Will give it a try. Does it need a swap partition ? Do i have to start all apps at first boot ?
no, you don't need swap partition. read carefully ClockWorkMod Tutorial: http://www.neopeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6675
start all apps is not necessary.
hi
i got a problem with wlan:
i can activated it and even connect to my network but then only connections to ip adresses work.
Somehoe dns resolving doesnt work.
hi
I'm currently testing this rom+kernel combination - up to now I'm quite excited, battery life
seems to be very good - my xperia is running for about 22h up to now, though i have to keep wifi enabled.
All apps work - and overall speed is also good.
Only wifi is a little bit buggy:
i can activated it and even connect to my network but then only connections to ip adresses work.
Somehoe dns resolving doesnt work. Anyone else having this problem ?
Update: with fixed ip and dns settings in wifi advanced section and a reboot
it works currently - gonna try it with dhcp settings again later
Update2: deactivated fixed ip settings now, and got dns + ip via dhcp and it works,
dunno why dns resolution failed before - strange
Update3: Enabling and Disabling wifi regularly is not safe, I often ran into an state
were wifi could not be reactivated - it just says error in menu.
Keeping wifi enabled and just deleting the network i was connected to is my
current workaround.
This is the only ext2 android build i got to work. For some reason all others hang.
The showstopper for me is that the lower buttons stop to work after some time, like answer call, hang up, navigation etc. Anyone know how to fix this?
It's also a shame that it doesn't mount the sd-card properly in Windows, I can see the driveletter but I can't access it.
look in the kernel thread there is a tutorial for reanable the keys. And you cannot access the ext2 partitions in windows because these are linux partitions. and please search bevor posting this question was asked so often...
@shelter
To access your files use usb debugging mode for usb connection and qtadb or droid explorer as GUI
Yes, I saw the answer for the sdcard question in another thread, also the reload module solution.
While this "rom" seem nice I rather use another rom that doesn't mess up the keys for now.
Seems I can only use CWM or FAT32 based roms on my phone for some reason, the others hang.
i do First step format ext2
how to i install?

Overview

Being a Beta, everything is assumed to have full functionality, under windows when drives are mounted they may have strange names like "invalid card", this is purely cosmetic.

I think it is long process... I tried to port MIUI v5 for XT907 on stock base.. It just wont work.. ((
Update: I've almost completed stock MIUI, I've confirmed it WILL be usable in safestrap devices.
I've almost completed MIUI Kitkat for the whole device tree; it should be available for testing tonight and is very close to being finished right now.
Stock ROM is nearly finished; but I will only be maybe providing OTA update to CM based MIUI because it makes more sense and because having to do stock for locked BL took significantly longer than I expected.
Edit 2: I'm Tquetski, for anyone who doesn't know :<
Uploading now, forgive my ISP speed.
As usual this is a preview, not a final build and broken things can be expected
I keep lying, I fixed all misc errors relating to this build and will proceed with uploading now for various devices, XT926 people be patient please :>
Tried it last night, everything run smooth, especial for alpha.
Not working list is bigger for me : contacts also not working it gives me android.acore error.
problem
Don't boot. Full wipe, but without results
How to install, help please
TWRP, KKBL, Stock
i think you need to be on the old jellybean bootloader.

I'm doing AOSP base for every moto_msm8960 AND Stock for this phone.
The thing is that stock can be OTA'd, patch won't accept that so I'm eating the bitter apple first
To install this i uncheck system in mount menu (recovery twrp 2.8).
This rom (based on cm11) is smooth and i love it. Waiting for stable version
Tquerski, thank you!!!

Everything is now functional beside Update, Backup and Theme-Manager.
Even though I have updated MIUI theme manager seems to force-quit. I'm not entirely sure what to do about it Jing is the only other developer I've heard of resolving this issue. I sent him a PM and hopefully will hear back because I am not really positive what the issue is.
I will avoid posting another build until I can get word on Themes but if a few days go by I'mm just put it up because outside of that everything is pretty much stable
Ok, I got it fixed; I'd like to thank myself because no other dev had input

EDIT: Half day of using and all i can say i like it. working smooth, stable, dont have any force closes, or random reboots. it is my daily driver for now.

Wow ! Congratulations ??
So we are getting a custom ROM finally Thank you very much!
It's a shame: The Pixel C ist the best Android Tablet on the market but it gets almost no community support, because it costs a few bucks more than the usual cheap china crap
i think the bootloader situation is more detrimental to us than the lack of pixel c owners. even chainfire won't mess with it and he owns a pixel.
nice to see a custom rom finally, but it puts the navigation buttons in the middle. that's a step backwards in my opinion.

Nav bar tablet mode is a changable feature in settings
I was at work for 13 hours today so no time for anything else, I can upload a system.img tomorrow if anyone is interested it just needs flashed thru fastboot then you gotta manually wipe data and flash gapps and manually set permissions for gapps I'll see how much time I can set aside later this week for a better method. I pulled the source for depth charge and I'll dig in and see if I can figure out how to use it it's kind of annoying that there's no documentation included how hard is it to write a readme sheesh

I'm uploading JUST the system.img right now I'll link it shortly.

Awesome!!!
I'm patiently waiting for updates because I'd love to use this without the listed bugs This tablet really needs a bad ass ROM to unlock it's full potential. Not rushing you obviously, good work takes time!

Pixel C was developed as a Chrome OS device, so it has a Chrome OS bootloader. Don't know the implications of that, but apparently it complicates things.

Tested my external HDD formatted as NTFS. Like on the stock kernel, it's only recognized as being there, but it's unmountable and shown as "corrupted storage", which it most obviously isn't. I have yet to find a ROM/kernel combination for my Tab S2 that works with NTFS external drives.
Setting SELinux status as Permissive works fine. I'm waiting to see more stuff from you from now on.

thank you for testing it, I'll take a look at ntfs support
Can this work with t810 9.7" ?
hi Ather,
i'm struggling with getting secure_storage to work with a custom kernel in nougat. i even went so far as to hex edit /system/bin/secure_storage_daemon and get it to keep running where it'd normally exit saying "...The platform/kernel binaries should be synchronized for running Secure Storage....". but then of course i hit another error ("Please use an official binary") when apps try to communicate with it. can you please tell me the secret to getting secure_storage_daemon to run properly with a custom kernel? i've tried modifying build.prop to say ro.securestorage.support=false, but then bluetooth doesn't start and wifi passwords still aren't saved after reboot. i'd be super grateful if you could point me in the right direction here. btw, i'm on a sm-t810 but they're both exynos so i think it should be the same. my tablet is running the stock samsung nougat release (NRD90M.T810XXU2DQCL). i did look at your github, but i also have enabled permissive (-DCONFIG_ALWAYS_ENFORCE=false) and disabled samsung rooting protection (CONFIG_SEC_RESTRICT_ROOTING, which i've confirmed lets me use "sudo" properly in a debian linux chroot).
thanks!
Secure storage in Nougat is broken, you need to use the 4 files from MM rom, set build.prop.vslue to false and voila
thanks Aether. I'll look for the stock MM rom. i'm guessing it's secure_storage_daemon, secure_storage_pm, libsecure_storage.so, libsecure_storage_jni.so? i have been doing a lot of googling to see if there is any discussion about the nougat secure_storage issue. i haven't found much except for a few posts where people say things aren't working. do you know of any other threads where this is being discussed? thanks again!
Yes these are the 4 files, idk about xda but we did have a discussion in our devs group so that's how i knew

v1.1 coming soon
Works great
Installed very easy, works great, thanks for the awesome kernel
Is anyone running this kernel and have the tablet filesystem encrypted? I am running L14 on the T810 and after encrypting the filesystem I encounter a variety of issues:
- Some of my own mp3 files hiss and skip, others do not.
- Unable to view all of my photos.
- Playing some videos also skip and hiss.
- Unable to view all PDF-files.
Note that when I have my own files on the external sdcard, all of the above work fine.
Googling suggests that there might be timing issues in general when having the filesystem encrypted. Since most users do not have the filesystem encrypted not many users may have these problems. For me, however, unless the tablet works flawlessly when the entire filesystem is encrypted, it is a useless toy.
Ideas, thoughts?

I don’t know if you take feature requests, but if you do could you please add USB otg + charging capabilities i.e. being able to read a USB drive and charge the tablet at the same time (if that’s at all possible). Thanks!

Not really.
First of all, you can't really experience Treble. There's nothing different for the user, it's just for developers to easier port newer Android versions.
Secondly, it's somewhat pointless if it isn't properly implemented by the manufacturer. There's no benefit to port new version "easily" if you hame much more trouble to get Treble in the first place; might as well use those resources to port the ROM "the old way".
And lastly, as long as hardware manufacturers provide new drivers it's better to have it the old way.
Basically, porting Treble to old devices is more or less an experiment and a fun project for devs, not really expected to work flawlessly or take off.

Well if this is mature, it can benefit both parties though IMO
For users, we can finally have an OS for all hardware just like in PC/Laptop enviroment
For devs, more user will use their product (build), mean increase in donation.
Later it would bring forth companies that build a paid/premium ROM. More devs would get a regular payment rather than relying in donations.
The rom can just including the generic driver to make the phone function for later use to install the driver from manufacture.
Manufacture would be forced to release a constant working driver or else get blamed by all parties.
All that later, we can say goodbye to bootloader lock since phone manufacture would just selling a phone, not the OS inside it.
The main issue here is that this thread is not a development thread, just basically a link towards the thread itself. Not sure this is the right place for that
